"My garage door opener has power, the overhead light is on and it responds to the remotes with flashing lights and beeping, but it won't raise the door. I contacted our home warranty company and they told me DoorAbility (DA) would be the ones to respond. I looked them up - good reviews, veteran owned, etc - and was pleased with the choice. When DA looked at my door opener (Trenton) they said the logic board had failed. Happens pretty often so they'd contact the warranty company to get it replaced. They left me a repair invoice and said they would get back to me. DA stayed in touch with me via text for a couple of days (they've never called me), then disappeared; no response to my texts. Since DA wasn't responding or returning my calls, I called the home warranty company for the status. They told me that my claim was denied because DA told them it was hit by lightning, and acts of God aren't covered. I told them there had to be a mistake, maybe some paperwork got mixed up? I pointed out that my garage door opener (and the rest of my garage) is physically unmarked and has power. Lightning doesn't sneak inside a closed garage and target just the logic board on one item, then leave with the rest of the device intact and working. Didn't even blow the light bulbs! I still naively assumed there was a mistake made so I texted DA. Told them what the home warranty company said and asked them to correct it. No response. So I sent the "shift manager" I had been texting with a photo of the opener with the light on, a short video showing the same, with beeping and flashing lights, along with my original repair invoice that said nothing about lightning. I also asked via text and two calls to their office that someone call me back. Nothing. They came to my house on Friday, 6 Sep, and I haven't heard from them since the following Tuesday (10th). I started out giving them the benefit of the doubt, but at this point it's obvious they know the "lightning strike" diagnosis is BS but they aren't going to fix it. They've made no attempt to correct it with the home warranty company or get in contact with me. I also sent the picture and video to my home warranty company, but they called last week reiterating that my claim had been denied based on the information provided by DoorAbility. I won't pretend to understand how DoorAbility has the great online reviews given my experience with them. My advice is to avoid them and contact another company, as I will have to do."

Motorized Garage, lanai Screens, Retractable screen doors, motorized awnings and privacy hurricane shutters
"Buyer Beware! Owner came to house and sold us. We explained we need HOA approval before we can move forward, So don’t do anything. His short term memory doesn’t remember that conversation. We even have a witness. He deposits our check. HOA does not approve the screen and we want our deposit back. He says too late, he already made the screen, which we told him don’t do. Too bad he says , I already made the screen and put you in the line for installation. We gave him $1000 deposit. (nowhere does it say nonrefundable) He says I’ll give you half back when he clearly is at fault DON’T DO BUSINESS WITH LONNIE AT COOL BREEZE."

Garage door repairs cost $260 on average but can range anywhere from $80 to $675. Factors such as the type of repair needed, the style of your garage door, and the material your door is made of all play a part in the final price tag.
For example, wood garage doors look beautiful but are prone to dents, splitting, and cracks that are difficult to fix. You can expect to spend an average of $200 to $300 to repair your wooden garage door. Fiberglass garage doors are more durable and less expensive to fix, averaging around $100 to $200.
The cost of replacing garage door panels is around $1,200 for the average homeowner. However, depending on a few factors, you could pay as little as $250 or as much as $3,000 or more. Considerations like panel style and the type of garage door you have all factor into what you pay.
While sectional garage doors are common among homeowners, they are often the most expensive to replace, averaging around $700 to $2,400. Tilt-up garage doors, which are the simplest door available, range from $400 to $1,400.
Annual to biannual routine garage door maintenance is vital to extending its life as much as possible. Most importantly, noticing any unusual sounds or movements and taking care of them as soon as possible is one of the best ways to maintain your garage door. Keeping the tracks clear of dirt and debris and lubricating the rollers and other moving parts twice a year will also help to get the most out of your door.
Even though garage doors can last 15 to 30 years, it’s important to recognize the signs of wear and tear or other damage that might cause the need for a repair or replacement. A big sign that your garage door needs repair or replacement is the door not opening and closing correctly, including moving slower than usual. Also, if you notice that your garage door is becoming warped or overly weathered, it’s time to call a professional to discuss your options and tips for buying a new garage door.
Garage doors generally last between 15 to 30 years, depending on many factors. Your location plays an essential role in your garage door’s lifespan—doors exposed to harsh elements like heavy rain or intense heat might not last as long as those installed in a milder climate. How often you use your garage door also factors into its overall lifespan. Generally, standard garage door springs can withstand 20,000 cycles, whereas tension springs typically last between 5,000 and 10,000.
