His quote was far below quotes by other contractors (normally a warning sign), but he clearly knew his stuff and my confidence in him was well-founded. I changed several details as the project went on, and Adie was happy to work with me and make any adjustments. There were delays caused by tile suppliers, but Adie worked to find other sources, and rearranged other commitments to make sure our project was completed as soon as possible. My only constructive criticism is that the quote was not itemized (which was ok for me at the time), but that caused an underestimated cost of the glass enclosure to go unnoticed in the budget until the end of the project. We’d made many changes over the course of the project, so were not unprepared for the higher cost of the glass, but I’d have known sooner if the budget had been itemized. Overall a great experience though and I would use East Bay again in a heartbeat!"

Once started, they worked quickly and efficiently. We did have a few small hiccups, namely using our garage to cut tiles and mix thinset, which created an exorbitant amount of dust coating my tools, bikes, and anything else that was stored in the garage. We also had an issue with the cleanliness of the home after some of the workers left, however, after we brought it to Helio's attention, he made sure to tell the team to do a better job moving forward. Contract was a little confusing, so I would encourage many questions to clarify things ahead of time such as timeline for selecting certain items, confirming when the next payments are due etc. All in all, we're pleased with the project and how it turned out."

"Chris Manganello is a gem. His level of skill and professionalism surpassed our utmost expectations. He was very easy to work with. He listened to what we wanted, respectfully offered suggestions, and ultimately did what made us happy. I'm so grateful we listened to some of his suggestions as he foresaw that we'd regret not knocking certain walls down. He is meticulous in every aspect of his trade. He cleaned up his "mess" EVERY day including sweeping the floors, putting all his tools in an organized pile, taking out the trash, shutting off lights, and locking the door. He treated this job as if he were doing it in his own home. If something was the slightest bit misaligned (we couldn't tell), he'd take it down and redo it because he knew he could do better. He never had that "it's good enough" attitude. He was excellent in communication as well, which is a characteristic most contractors do not have.
