I called Gil on a Friday and we talked about the project. He was able to come by my house on Saturday to give an estimate and discuss how he would do the work. He agreed to do the work on the following Wednesday. Since he was going to be using a Bobcat, a concern of mine was the damage that would be done to the yard because the ground was a bit soft due to the rain, though I know that any sort of Bobcat work can result in ruts and tore up grass so I was prepared for the worst. He carefully planned out the route he would take with the Bobcat and the work area he needed in order to minimize damage to the yard. At the end of the day I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. Other than the path needed to get the Bobcat into the back yard, there was very little yard area disturbed anywhere else, and the tracks that were left will be pretty easy to repair. Gil was an expert using the Bobcat auger even with some of the post holes only a foot away from the house. When the holes were dug, he hauled the dirt away and cleaned up the driveway as well as he could on his way out. The work went well. The work was completed on a Saturday morning. Although Pat was late, but called to inform me that he was running behind. Pat used a Bobcat to move the stone from the street to my backyard. He was careful to make turns in the street and in the patio area to reduce the wear on my yard from the Bobcat. He also brought a laser that he allowed us to use to make measurements and place markers around the patio to help with leveling. I called BK Hauling and left a message about the job I needed done. He quickly returned my call and gave me an estimate- $150 and told me he would take a coupon I had on found on Angie's list. I called on a Friday to schedule him to do the work and he came out on Monday at 9:00 am. Bob arrived timely. I showed him the fence and he got right to work. He and his wife worked well together. It was hard work and they did it quickly. They were sweet to my children. They made sure they didn't crush any of my flowers. They finished in 1 hour and 15 minutes. INITIALLY, I CALLED DAN THE PROJECT ESTIMATOR FOR CR CONCRETE TO SEE IF THE COMPANY WOULD BE INTERESTED IN TRANSPORTING THE DIRT FROM JUST UP OUR ROAD TO OUR BACKYARD. I KNEW CARLOS AND HIS CREW FROM LAST SUMMER, BECAUSE THEY CONSTRUCTED OUR NEW DRIVEWAY. I KNEW THEY WERE A GOOD RELIABLE COMPANY AND THEY WERE FAMILIAR WITH OUR UNUSUAL YARD FROM THE DRIVEWAY WORK! NOT ONLY DID CARLOS AND HIS CREW TRANSPORT AND SPREAD THE DIRT IN OUR BACKYARD, DAN PUT US IN CONTACT WITH THE EXCAVATION COMPANY WHO WE ENDED UP HIRING TO INSTALL THE 18'' AND 8'' PLASTIC PIPE IN THE DITCH. CARLOS AND DAN ARE GREAT TO WORK WITH AND LISTENED TO ALL OF MY CONCERNS. I called for an estimate to haul away debris from my deck that I was tearing down and Tony came over the same day or next day to provide the estimate. We then scheduled the date and time to do the work and he arrived promptly to haul away all of the debris. My in- laws had lived in the same home for over 40 years and, as often happens, they accumulated a substantial amount of items that had not be used for years and no longer held any use or value. The crew from 1-800-GOT-JUNK arrived cheerfully, introduced themselves, and immediately started working. In 2-1/2 hours they removed two truckloads of items from each level of the house. One of the guys also went above and beyond and swept the large basement! They saved us from renting a dumpster, three or four weekends of work, and probably back pain. The process was very smooth. I called on Tuesday to inquire on a quote to haul an old non-working refrigerator from our basement - they gave me a quote and scheduled the work for Thursday. When they arrived, they hauled the refrigerator to the basement. I then asked if they could haul the old barbeque - they said "sure, no problem" and gave me a quote and took that as well. This is obviously a smaller job, but it's roughly the same price as me renting a dumpster or hauling myself to the dump. Great thing is, they do all the labor. I HIGHLY recommend this companyshow more
