Description of Work: Our water pipes were rumbling. they replace the water pressure regulator and install an expansion tank. They were about 30 minutes late from their scheduled time, but they called in advance to see if they could keep their appointment time.

Description of Work: Barr Plumbing did everything I asked: they came when requested, arrived on time, used their expertise and experience to identify the source of the problem (slow drains due to partially blocked sewer line) and to sufficiently clean my sewer line. They also sent down a camera to identify bad and weak spots in my aging system, then advised on how to address the issues in the short- and long- terms. It is important to note that I was in the throes of the flu when they came to do the work. They were very patient as they dealt with my husband (who is not the handyman in the family) and who periodically stopped their work to consult with me before they continued. I have full confidence they earned every one of their "A" ratings and am more than happy to add mine.

 + -1 moreHe knows his stuff but sometimes his work is a sloppy and unacceptable. . Barry has done a lot of work for me. He ALWAYS wants to sell me something I dont want and charges me while he works slowly chatting away to me about the all new whole house brass piping to replace my pvc or the water treatment system he wants to sell me to replace my 6k system I dont need. He also chats with his clients who call working slowly at your expense. After leaving this last time with a $500 bill for his slow work at great expense I willl NOT be inviting him back.
Description of Work: Leak under sink repaired. Small toilet problems resolved. Replaced upstairs toilet.

 + -1 moreI called Mr. Barr yesterday and left him a message. He called back right away and set up a time for him to come out today. His first job of the day was taking longer than expected so he called (before he was even late) and told me he was going to be a little late. Once he was here he was very nice and professional and didn't even mind my crazy dog constantly barking at him. He also was able to tell me that our sump pump wasn't faulty but our condensation pump for our AC was broken and he recommended a heating and cooling company. Any time I need a plumber in the future, I will be calling him.
Description of Work: Replaced our hose bib and looked at what our house inspector said was a faulty sump pump.

 + -1 moreExcellent! Highly recommend Mr. Barr. He's extremely professional, polite,ethical,trustworthy and knowledable. He fixed something else in our house last year and was exactly the same way. You will not be disapointed.
Description of Work: Sewage backup. After spending considerable amount of time "snaking" the main drain line, Mr. Barr replaced (at my request) the final part of the main drain system before it leaves the house (which included another clean out). From that point he proceeded to snake and clean out the drain to the street. There were roots and other materials in the drain, which caused the problem. He stuck to it not giving up. The final cost included his labor, the new parts and the cost for him to rent specialized equipment to remove the old iron pipe. He was there to do the work exactly when he said he'd be there.
