They are very, very nice, professional and considerate. They even wore shoe covers into our house. They did a very good job. We were expecting this to cost a couple of hundred dollars. The price was more than we expected. We will use them again because of the quality of their work.

He is excellent. He answers your phone calls almost immediately, if not within an hour or two. He is very personable and very friendly. He explains everything to you about what he is doing, what he is going to do, what it's going to cost you; everything. So, he's just great.

It went well, although the ultimate problem was not fixed by Barry or Dustin. We had a clogged main drain (no knowledge of cleanout). After talking it over with Barry, we decided to pull the main toilet and run the snake (auger) through and see what we could find. At around 50', he pulled a substantial amount of roots. Ran the auger an add'l 3 more times at a length of over 100' (limits of his equipment at the time) and pulled out some more small roots but nothing substantial. After seeing that the auger line continued to come out wet (should not be dripping wet if clog is clear), Barry re-set the toilet with the new seal and valve line and suggested we call the City Water & Sewer service for help on locating our line and possible cleanout. The city came out and after a little poking around, we found a "cleanout" (hole in pipe covered with license plates and concrete....ridiculous...right?). The city then ran an auger and jet through our system to get the remaining roots and sludge free of charge and even offered to run a root killer through our lines and lay lime in our yard (we have a dog so we could not take them up on this). That may make it sound like Barr Plumbing came up short, however, they were very courteous, knowledgeable, and really cared about our problems. Any failure on there parts was more due to me not knowing if we had any other access to our line while they were here. I would not hesitate to call Barry and Dustin in the future for any plumbing needs.

Wonderful Job with great prompt diagnosis and fix.

Called and they were out there within 2 hours and and did the job and a couple extra little things and they were gone , but explained everything and dint try to run up the bill.

First contact with Barr was awesome. The gentleman I spoke to on a Monday was very receptive to our problem and said he could schedule us Thursday morning, but if I was available Tuesday afternoon he could see if he could fit me in. Tuesday at 2:00 Barry and Dusty showed up. They were very professional and very descriptive when the looked at the water heater. They discovered ours was 11 years old and since it was installed about 5 years before I moved in and installed a house filter and water softener there was a lot of scale affecting the operation. They gave me the price to install a new water heater, repair the water pipes at the heater from bi-metal corrosion and install a expansion tank to bring it up to code. They offered to schedule the work but also said if I like they would pick up the new water heater and install it that day. By 4:30 we had a new water heater. I would have given them an "A" on quality, but after they left I realized they never offered to install a water heater pan. I will take care of this when I replace the galvanized pipes in the near future. Regardless, I will not hesitate to use them again or recommend them.

It went extremely well, was quick, and Barr Plumbing even supplied us with a new long shutoff valve tool that allows us to easily reach the shutoff which is deep in the ground

From the first phone call, I was impressed with Barry's professionalism. He said he was able to fit us in the same day we called. He arrived within the time he said he was able to. Barry and his assistant performed the work in a quick and efficient manner. We will definitely call them for future plumbing needs.

Barry was professional, prompt, easy to work with and kept in touch with the progress. We were very satisfied with the outcome.

We called on a Sunday around 2PM EST mainly about our gas stove dying, but also a small bathroom pipe leak. He answered the phone and was available, unlike 4 others companies we had tried to contact(2 we had even used before). Sure it was a Sunday but he answered the phone promptly, identified himself/company and ask what he could do for us. We explained our situation(damage from the severe storm that hit the northeast on June 29th) and he listened and ask for many details I didn't think to provide. He then suggested several options for us, including recommending 2 other companies for use. He explained why each was the best for the each job(gas stove and small plumbing issue) and honestly told us that due to the storm his workload was full and he was handling emergency issues, but said he would be glad to help us if we wished. Given the great amount of damage done in our area,by the storm, this was totally understandable that he was basically fully booked... But the time he spent getting the details of our situation, asking questions, and making suggestions was way above what most people would do. Thanks to him I now have 2 companies coming this week that I can trust and that I know will do the job right, at a good cost. In short, he's an honest man and is looking out for you even if you aren't an "official" customer. I will definitely be contacting him again, once things slow down in our area. We have a kitchen remodel to do(storm related also) and he will be at the top of our list to call first. It's great to see that some companies understand that everyone is a "potential" customer, even if it may be in the future on another job. The long time he spent with us, his knowledge, politeness and honesty are very refreshing. We look forward to a future contract with him.

The plumber called 15 minutes prior to the start time of the appointment to let us now his ETA. He was punctual, friendly , seemed knowledgable and was very complimentary of the construction of our home. He finished the job in less than 2 hours and the faucets are in great working condition. No more leaks!! I would definitely use his company again in the event of an emergency or any other plumbing repair.

We gutted the kitchen in the home we purchased and started the renovation of the kitchen by having the flooring removed down to the plywood, removed all cabinets, sink, fridge, range and countertop. Had "Innerspace" (Martinsburg WV business) lay Marmoleum flooring wall-to-wall. With no cabinets in the way, we felt it was best to completely cover the floor. We worked with another local business (Mountaineer Kitchens and Baths) to order and install cabinets, built in ovens, built in refrigerator, and large hardrock maple island with cabinets and bookshelves under it. We used Orsinis (local appliance business) to acquire our $24k of appliances: Thermadore 5 burner gas cooktop, Thermadore commercial size hood, Gagganau built in steamer, Tepan Yaki, and 2 wall ovens and Liebere 3 separate section refrigerator. Mountaineer called in 2 local excellent electricians to do the wiring. All new lighting was installed. Larger Andersen windows were installed to increase the view and the light. For the countertop we used Corian with bonded sinks (for beauty and most sanitary set-up, also Corian does not stain). We requested extra deep countertops (for more workspace) and they have really been helpful to have. We designed this kitchen ourselves and we love it, but if I had it to do over again I would have one stainless sink because as beautiful as the Corian is, you cannot pour hot cooking water (as in draining cooked vegetables/pasta) directly on Corian as it will crack. This is the only shortcoming we have found. The custom addition to our laundry was a cabinet, countertop, jacuzzi type sink for hand washables, faucets for sink. Barr Plumbing installed the plumbing for this as well. Love it!

He does great work. His prices are pretty reasonable. He is a good guy.

He does a great job and I would recommend him to anyone. We are very happy we have found a reliable plumber that we can trust. His prices are good and his work is always quality. His jobs have lasted and we have had no problems.

After doing post-lunch dishes, we happened to go down to the storage/facilities room and noticed that the carpet outside the room was soaking wet. When we opened the door to the room, steam came pouring out, and there was water all over the floor. Apparently, the valve on the overflow pipe on the water heater had broken, and so we had to shut down the water to the house, turn off the water heater and well pump and vaccum the water up from the floor. We called a few plumbers in the Berkeley Springs area, and only Barry was available to come out. Despite it being a Saturday, Barry dropped what he was doing and was at our place within an hour. He was exceptionally professional, curteous and EXTREMELY knowledgable about what he was doing. He talked us through every step of the process, and rather than just fixing the immediate problem, pointed out what the root cause was, and how we could go about correcting that in the future. If I ever require a plumber, I wouldn't call anyone else!

It was a good experience. As mentioned the problem was with out toilet. I thought it would be a simple do-it-your-selfer but try as I did, I could not get the flapper adjusted to fall after flushing so that it would shut off the water flow out of the tank. I messed with it for 2 hours and finally gave up:-( Frustrated and defeated, I called Barr Plumbing and spoke with Barry about the problem. He scheduled me for the next day and arrived promptly at the time he said he would. He replaced the flusher arm with a more substantial one and, with much less effort, fixed the problem. I've had had no problems with that toilet since. Little pricey for the job, but then again I gave up, and he has to make a living. I was very impressed with Barry's manners and professionalism, and will definitely call him again in the future.

Mr. Barr came to our house and brought his assistant, Darryl, with him. Mr. Barr was quick to explain that water softening is not his forté; he is a plumber. His assistant, Darryl, is the water softener/conditioner expert, so he brought him along. They took a quick look at our current softener, did a quick water test, and then wanted to sell us a new water softener system of three different components ... to the tune of $4300.00. He charged us $95.40 just to come out to the house and test the water, and gave us one week to decide on the $4300 system, at which point he was offering to deduct the cost of the service call from the install of the new system, if we purchased within the week. Only a week? After spending $4300, they can't just apply the service call to the total cost? After internet research and several phone calls to other companies, the health department, an environmental engineer in another state, and a state lab, we were told to stay away from the $4300 system that they wanted to sell us, and we were told that it was not at all appropriate for our need. We are still exploring our options to correct the problem we're having with our well water.

He is very professional and explained how the problem could have happened, other common problems and what to look for and preventative measures to take.

I called the plumber in the morning to tell him my indoor water pump wasnt working. He was there in under 2 hours and had it replaced within under 3 more hours. I was more than satisfied with his professionalism and work.

I had an outside faucet which would leak whenever I tried turning it on. I found Barr's Plumbing here on Angie's List and sent an email to see if he could come to my house to fix the faucet. Within an hour of emailing him at work, I had a return email promising a call back before the end of the day. It was actually only a couple of hours later when Mr. Barr phone me and arranged to come to my house. On the day of the appointment, he was prompt and our initial meeting put me totally at ease that I had found a professional and personal plumber. I never felt the need to watch over what he was doing and within an hour's time he replaced the entire faucet. I was totally pleased with my initial experience and will not hesitate to call him the next time I need a plumber.

On the Saturday before Mr. Barr came over one of our bathrooms started draining slow. We called Mr. Barr and he said that he would be happy to come over but he could save us money if he could come on Monday and we scheduled an appointment for Monday at 10 AM but added that if things changed to call him back and he would be happy to come out. On Sunday morning a second bathroom started running very slow and backed up into our tub. We called Mr. Barr again to notify him of the change. He had us check to see if the sewer was still backed up and we found that it was draining but slowly. We agreed that he could still come on Monday but he said that he was going to call his first appointment and reschedule so that he could come to our house first. On Monday Mr. Barr was running a little behind but he called to let us know that he was on his way. When he arrived, his truck was clearly marked and Mr. Barr was very friendly and courteous. He brought his equipment down to our basement and setup. He had the clog located and removed with in an hour. He carefully cleaned everything up and removed his equipment. Job well done. I will definitely recommend Mr. Barr to my friends and will definitely give him a call if I have any other plumbing problems.

I called Barry on the recommendation of 2 neighbors who have used him in the past ( also encouraged them to join Angie's List!) Called him with my problem, a slow drain that has been getting progressively worse. Explained that I used 2 bottles of Liquid Plumber to no avail. Also explained that my brother is a plumber, but lives in New York and his bet that there was a toy stuck down there. Barry had an emergency call before mine & called me to inform me that he would be late long before he was due to show up. He arrived a little before our rescheduled time, I sowed him to the bathroom & told him what my brother said. After a few minutes I stuck my head in to see how it was going & he informed me that my brother was wrong..............there was 2 toys stuck down there, Strawberry Shortcakes dress & Ariels' starfish baret. Once he had those cleared he ran the snake through just to be sure, and we were all clear! Hopefully won't need him again ( yeah, right I have 2 small kids!) but if I do will defiantly call again!

What he did for me, he went above and beyond. Very nice person. I would recommend him any time to anyone. If he can't help you, he will know the person/company who can.
