Description of Work: I called Blue Ridge this morning to come service our a/c; unfortunately, they didn't have any appointments for two days. I scheduled an appointment and asked if they could call if there were any cancellations. To my surprise, I got a call this afternoon saying that there were cancellations and if I would call them back when I got home, they might be able to come service the air conditioner. When I called, I was told that a repairman would be here between 4:30 and 5:00; right on the dot of 4:30, the doorbell rang. The air conditioner was service and up and running again in less than 30 minutes! I am a very happy customer!!!

Description of Work: I called them in winter 2014, when my thermostat stopped working. They made time for me - very much appreciated - it was frigid! Put in new thermostat and checked out the crappy furnace in my rented townhouse. Gave me estimate for new one - landlord went with someone else unfortunately. The repairman was quite nice and very professional. Called them again this past winter. Same repairman - checked everything and told me what the problem was immediately. No repairs needed - just new filter which I went out and got that day. (I felt pretty stupid for not checking it.) Again very professional. Complete trust in them. And they had to squeeze me in both times I've called! Will use them again if needed and highly recommend them!

Description of Work: A/C repair, compressor capacitor. This is our second time using Blue Ridge and both time the service has been exceptional. Both office rep and tech were professional and courteous and we will definitely use them again for our A/C and heating needs.

Description of Work: Arranged for an estimate for an attic fan install. They showed up and walked it down and said they would get back to me on (~6/7). Never received anything so I called on 6/18, they said they would get back to me. Today is 6/23, no contact. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I am not sure what the issue is, this is an easy job and no money was discussed. I hate to know how responsive they would be if I actually had them do something at my house. Would never recommend to anyone.

Description of Work: Added 3lbs of freon and tightened all connections. One connection was a 1/2 turn loose and was likely the cause of the leak. Rex was a good guy to talk to and was very knowledgeable.

Description of Work: I contacted this company and left a message around 7 pm Friday evening to inform that my air conditioner was not working. I received a call back in about 1 hr informing that someone could come out today. The gentleman informed me that he could be there in the morning around 10 am. Prior to 10 am I received a call from the gentleman informing me that he was held up and if it is alright he would be there at 11 am. I understand the nature of the business and informed the gentleman I appreciated the call and 11 am would be fine. The gentleman called me again prior to 11 am to inform me that he was going to be 10 min late due to traffic. Again, I informed him that would be fine. The gentleman arrived about 11:15 am and quickly diagnosed and replaced a capacitor, checked lines and refrigerant. My wife, 5-week son, 2 dogs and I appreciated that he was able to respond quickly and make the needed repair at a reasonable cost.

Description of Work: My central AC stopped working . . . temps in the high 90's to low 100's and I called them on a Sunday morning. They came, found the problem (a $25 part) and got me running again. I also had him check the freon.He could have lied to me and sold me all sorts of stuff . . . instead he was honest and professional, and got my AC back on. I'll use him again this fall to service my gas furnace.

 + -1 moreVery good experience. Nice repairmen who were knowledgeable and did not overcharge me, I was extremely pleased with the experience and would recommend and use them again.
Description of Work: My HVAC system was not working after I had attempted to change the thermostat. They were able to come out the same day, within about two hours of my call actually, and they noted that my thermostat wasn't the issue actually, it was a loose wire in my trane unit. They got my central AC working within about a half an hour or so.

Description of Work: I have a hundred year old house that needed air conditioning and heat with all the necessary duct work installed. . I had 3 estimates on the job. I chose Blue Ridge Heating & A/C primarily because of Bill Rinker and not the price, After having other large projects completed in my house , I now weigh the professionalism and courtesy of the work crew as much as the quality of the work. Bill kept the lines of communication flowing and even came in one day under projected for completion .

 + -1 moreBilly came to the house to give an estimate of a replacement system the following day we called (a family friend had comfirmed our compressor was bad and the system would been to be replaced, it was 16 yrs old). He listened to everything I told him, checked under the house to see what we had and what shape the duct work was in. He located all the vents inside the house and did measurements of the house to be sure the estimated living space I gave him was correct. Within 15 min of gathering info, I had a detailed estimate. He was very courteous, pleasant and straight forward. After obtaining another estimate, we decided to have Blue Ridge do the work. I spoke with Billy the next day, two days later they were installing the new system. He was later getting here than he had told us, but was considerate in calling to tell us they were going to be a bit late. The men removed their shoes when coming inside the house, even though they had put down a drop cloth to protect the floors. The men were always courteous and respectful of us and our property. We were very pleased in every aspect and highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Replacement of exsisting heat pump system as well as adding duct work for an addition to the house.
