Description of Work: They only tried to sell me a new unit. They knew what was best for me apparently. They sent a salesperson instead of a repairman. I found someone else to repair my unit for $300. Dodrill tried to sell me $7500 unit for my 1100 Sq ft townhouse. This was in 2008. I sold my unit in 2009 with a 20 yr old heat pump that still worked beutifully. Glad I didn't spend $7500. Felt like they tried to take advantage of a single young girl.

Description of Work: I personally would never recommend them to anyone. Out of five separate contractors they were the only ones not willing to reuse the high efficiency furnace I already had and basically wanted to come in and redo the complete system including duct work. On top of that if I signed that day you received a discount. Should I say high pressure sale and basically they want to get you on the hook before you realize how much they are trying to rip you off.

Description of Work: I had a heating and cooling unit install for my home. Because it was being installed in the winter time. They came back when cooling was needed to check the cooling system without a call from me suggesting this needed to be done. I have had problems in the winter time with the heating and they are very quick and supportive to get the system up and running as soon as possible. They have a well stocked truck with most of the supplies needed for normal repairs. They have been very good to work with.

+ -1 moreThe workers showed up on time, and worked hard all day. They tested the AC and the Furnace prior to leaving. The AC has been working great for now a month, and I"m very happy with it. The only thing I can complain about is that my Satellite DISH was grounded to the AC UNIT, and when they replaced the AC they didn't reground my Satellite DISH. They didn't even tell me. But its a small thing, and was easily grounded. They were very professional.
Description of Work: Before I decided going with this company, I got 4 estimates from others in my area. This company price was way below the others, and provided a upgraded units. The workers replaced my AC and my Furnace and also added a larger air return. The others estimates wanted $8,600 for the size units I wanted, and Dodrill only wanted $6,800 for Comfort Series Central Air Conditioner 16 SEER. with a Performance Boost 90 Gas Furnace.

+ 0 moreMy A/C unit gave out the pervious week I have seen their ad about rejuvenate my system for 79.00 they responded the next day informed me that my system had no freon and motor was humming,told me my unit was put in in 1983 and it could possably be fixed but it cuuldcost 1200-1600 i said unit was to old to put that into it

+ 0 moreI probably would recommend them but we were not totally thrilled with the ductwork they did. It made it a challenge for us to finish the areas in our basement. We had several other quotes and they were less expensive than other companies. I think they did good quality work. I would probably use them again.
Description of Work: I used Dodrill Heating & Cooling to put in a new heat pump, a new gas furnace, new ductwork and they also installed a gas water heater.

+ -1 moreAfter the first repair, the technician called me in to show me a screen that was attached to a remote camera. He showed me several cracks in the heat exchanger and said that I had a dangerous situation. The exchanger needed to be replaced at a cost of a few thousand, but he said it would really be better if I replaced the entire heating system. He wouldn't condemn it if I would replace it before I turned on the system again in the fall. My system is only seven years old, and I have never had a problem with it prior to this visit. I told him that I would get a second opinion. I called Rock Branch Mechanical. The technician arrived and thoroughly inspected the system, and found NO cracks in the heat exchanger. Additionally, Rock Branch had to replace the flue pipe which had been improperly attached by Dodrill. This cost $200. I called Dodrill, tried unsuccessfully to speak to the owner,described my experience and cancelled my contract. I joined "Angies List" just so I could warn others about this. We rely on the honesty and ability of technicians and their employers to provide a needed service. We can't live without heat, so we are at their mercy. Please take the time to let others know about this and, hopefully, we can protect each other and save thousands of dollars of unnecessary expense.
Description of Work: As a long time "club" member, i called a service person arrived to perform my regular semi annual maintenance. First I was told that my blower shaft motor was loose and needed to be replaced. He happened to have one on the service truck, so he replaced it. Cost $325.
