There are sections of my driveway where nearly all of the seal coating came off in less than 9 months, so I am going to have to re-do the job myself. This is not what I had in mind when I paid over $1,100 (a fair price, if it would have lasted longer). I understand that the work isn't covered anymore, as I didn't report it until the thaw revealed so much was missing, and I'm not upset with Merit or their staff. If the soil beneath your patio or walkway wasn't compacted, it will pull pavers down as it settles. To fix sunken pavers, consider recompacting the base and addressing any drainage or erosion issues in the area.

Although you could try to lay stepping stones directly over grass, which speeds up the installation process significantly, this method often leads to a poor result over time. Even heavy paver stones will eventually slide or shift on top of the grass.
