Went very well. Due to a miscommunication, the technician did not install the type/brand of equipment we agreed on on his first visit. He returned the same afternoon and installed the correct device and was apologetic about it. Very professional.

Very well. Nick did have to go back to the shop to pick up the correct parts. When he returned it only took an hour to get me up and running, including the shut off valve. Only one piece of the boxed in panel needed to be removed. Nick showed me everything he did. I was real happy with the cost and results.
Description of Work: Water faucet outside split the first time I used it this year. I have a finished basement which was water damaged because of the problem. I called Roman Electric at 10 am and they had someone out her by 11:30 am. Nick was very professional at all times. He explained how the pricing worked and he diagnosed the problem. He gave me the option of adding a shut off valve or not. Because the pipe will all boxed in I thought I would have a bigger clean up issue then I did.

They showed up on time and was professional but when we got the price for the repair we were floored. The estimate for repair work was $581.00 (which was more than the 2 year old Water Heater was worth) or $1412.00 to replace. We paid their Travel fee of $39.95 and told them we needed to get more estimates. We did just that and decided on another company to service our Water Heater due to the huge price difference. We had two more companies come in and both came to the same conclusion as to what part needed to be replaced as Roman's. The two other companies both gave estimates very close in price to each other and both was 1/2 the price as Roman's. We hired one of the other two companies and ended up paying $ 263.50 (this included their $39.00 trip charge) for parts and labor plus a additional $20.00 to have the part needed rushed to our home via UPS. Roman's quoted estimate was twice the price we paid for the repair. I find Roman's way to expensive and feel they were taking advantage of us. We will not consider Roman's for any work again.
Description of Work: Our 2 year old Hot Water Heater needed repair. I called and set up an appointment with Roman's to assess what repair was needed and the cost. The Water Heated had stopped heating and they found the Control Valve/Thermostat needed to be replaced.

They initially came out to do a tune-up on the A/C, but it was too cold to do today. They ran a diagnostic on the A/C, found out the breaker was turned off, and had them replace the thermostat. One person came, was up front with me, he was great. We have a service contract with them.

I had a very bad experience with Roman Electric today. After calling me twice, the tech Kevin arrived 42 minutes late. He had been provided the wrong address on the work order by "someone" he stated, and initially went to N. 48th St instead of S. 48th St. He seemed confused about what he was there to do, so I told him the back doorbell wasn't working. He proceeded to the back doorbell and verified it was not working, then asked me where the main chime was located. After saying the word "front" 3 times, he still seemed confused, and asked "front door?" - well, not exactly but yes, NEAR the front door. The tech then found a black wire that was not connected in the main chime housing, and asked me if I knew that the wire was not connected. I did not. He hooked the wire quick around the screw, went to the back door, and verified that the back doorbell was now working. I was embarrassed as this was obviously a simple thing my husband or I could have done. I paid him the trip fee of $39.95 and asked him if he had tightened down/tested the connection, to which he stated "I don't have a screwdriver". At that point I was in disbelief, and the look on my face must have caused him to backpedal, because he then stated "Well, I do have one in my truck" but didn't seem AT ALL willing to GO GET IT and complete the job. It seemed like an easy enough thing to do myself, and since I was now in a hurry due to him being late, I told him not to worry about it we would take care of it. AFTER the tech left, I tightened down the screw to the wire, and almost immediately it started humming. I went to the back door and verified the doorbell was now NOT working, and by the time I got back to the chime housing, the wire was smoking. I went to disconnect it, and there was sparking and a smell like something was burning. I left the wire disconnected due to the obvious safety hazard, but as I thought about all this, I got a little mad. First of all, the very first thing out of Kevin's mouth should have been "Oh my gosh I am so very sorry I am so late........." and taken ownership of "someone's mistake with the address issue. That would have gone a long way toward better customer relations right off the bat. And wouldn't a GOOD tech have said "wait, give me 10 more minutes, let me go get my screwdriver and test everything out and make sure everything is working as it should be before I leave". I realize the tech felt rushed because I had limited time now due to his lateness, but I had waited 42 minutes already, what was another 10? If he would only have done that he would have caught this issue himself right away. But the thing that really tops it off - when I called to complain and explain what had happened (and yes I was mad), the office receptionist "Sam" proceeded to argue with me about it. Instead of saying "We are very sorry you are not happy, here is what we can offer" and staying professional, she stated that I "rushed" the tech out and "did not allow" him to complete his work, which is not true. The tech led me to believe the disconnected wire was the only problem, but never took the extra step to verify that it in fact was. I was initially going to let them come the next morning and correct the situation, but due to Sam's unprofessionalism, I decided to cancel all together. To their credit, they agreed to refund the trip charge of $39.95.

They're noted for electric, but they picked up plumbing on the side now. That's what they do too. They have a nice deal going on. I think thy charge $40 for a service call any you know the extra when they get finished with the work. I would say the grades speak for themselves. We took a chance and we were well pleased on how it turned out. They've been in the electrical business for years and years. I thought it was a great idea they got into plumbing. They go hand in hand.

It was very odd because only part of my electricity was in my house. It went out and came back on and then went out again. So they came out in the morning and diagnosed the problem. They couldn't repair it all at that moment and they asked my what I needed right away. They came out the next day and repaired everything.

My furnace was working fine, but now it is not working after they came out to do the tune-up. I called them to see if they could come fix it and they are saying that they would have to charge me their weekend rates although I did not do anything to it. Their electrical work is fine but I do not trust them for heating.

I called and was able to talk to someone right away and make an appointment with in the week. They even offered emergency service over the weekend. The technician was very professional and figured out the problem was incorrect set up of the GFCI outlet in the bathroom! It was fixed that day and for less than I expected. I would highly recommend this company.
