Description of Work: They brought my offer-accepted home up to code for the prospective new owners using my pre-inspection summary checklist. Installed GFCIs in basement, ran conduit in basement and upstairs, corrected double neutrals at breaker box (created by a previous electrician), and replaced a GFCI in the garage that they had installed on a previous visit that had failed the test with my inspector. It was replaced at no charge. Since they had to come back to fix their work, they also waived the trip charge.

Description of Work: I used the $19.95 advertised service all to have a new fan/light fixture installed in my master bedroom and the current fan/light fixture moved to the kitchen. The cost of each fan/light installation was $110 for a total of $220. When the electrician arrived he inspected my ceiling fixture outlet in the kitchen and told me it was not fan rated and there would have to change out the box for $185 before installing the fan. I told him that the entire house had been re-build and all the wiring was new after a fire (2 years ago)and that I had the ceiling in every room wired for a fan/light by the contractor. He insisted that the box was not fan rated. I asked him to look at the bedroom which already had a fan light that I wanted to have moved to the kitchen so the new (Fancy) fixture could go in the bedroom. He told me he could check it but that if it was NOT a fan rated box that he could not hang the new fixture OR re-hang the existing fixture. SO I NEEDED to agree to pay the $220 for the lights to be hung and another $370 for two new boxes. Again I argued that these were all new fixtures, wiring, and boxes. I ended sending him away and I called the City of West Allis Electrical Inspector and the original Electrical Contractor to complain. The West Allis Inspector call and assured me that he had personally inspected my house after both the rough and the final electrical inspections and all was code and all the ceiling boxes were fan rated. The original electrical contractor pulled my parts list and assured me that all the ceiling outlets had fan rated boxes as per my request. The electrical contractor (Johnson Electric) sent an electrician to the house, he pulled the cap from the kitchen light fixture box and took a picture of the box with his I-phone and showed by the box label that was very clearly visible that stated that THIS BOX IS FAN RATED. | |Johnson Electrical then put up the fan/light fixture for me for $90. | |I can only conclude that the Journey Man Electrician from Roman Electric was "padding" his bill in an attempt to make more money. I am even more frustrated that he "stuck to his story" even after I told him that all the electrical work was only 2 years old and fully inspected by the City of West Allis. I saved myself $400 by sending him away. Later when I had verification of the correct information I called Roman Electric to complain. I called a total of 9 yes nine times and was promised a call back every time. I have NEVER HEARD from Roman Electric. I suggest that anyone thinking of using there service think twice and then get another bid from a contractor before even thinking about using this company.

Description of Work: Ed and Mike had to trench from the garage to our home to rewire electric into the home. They were prompt as it was an 8 hour project. They had there mats to wipe feet on before entering the home. Great job very happy with the choice my husband and I made. Will be calling them again to have some more electrical work done around the house. Roman Electric was just great with their follow-up after the quote and even after the work was completed. Fantastic customer service!

Description of Work: A Roman rep estimated the cost for an electrical upgrade (a pricey job), but never emailed me the quote or followed up. Meanwhile, a rep from another company explained the reasons we might not need to upgrade. Used the other company to install some outlets- I appreciated their honesty and customer service.

Description of Work: The work itself was done quite well, just one small quality issue. Workers were great. | |Just remember to always get their quote in writing first. I had a verbal on a portion and we had a disagreement over what they believed was quoted for a portion of the job and what I thought was quoted. Not a significant difference when compared to the whole project, but they seemed dismissive over my concerns. It is their attitude there that will cause me not to ever use them again.

Description of Work: When the electrician arrived I explained the 2 problems & he showed me a sheet showing different diagnostic costs. My charges would be $500.00. I incorrectly assumed the $500 would go toward the repairs. NO, the repairs were an additional $1200.00. It's part of their guarantee that they will perform the work the same day BUT my job was figured to take 8 hours so they scheduled me for (first opening) 11 days later. Thankfully I had time to call around, and found an electrician who was able to do the job in 4 hours for $350.00 so I was able to cancel my appointment with Roman.Very over-priced with a polite but argumentative electrician. I WILL NEVER CALL THEM AGAIN! Approximate cost of service: $1700.00.
