TruGreen Lawn Care - 5741

Last year I went looking for a lawn service. I contacted TruGreen because I saw their vehicles in the neighborhood. A representative stopped out and recommeneded the whole season treatment. I have only 900 square feet of lawn in front and I thought the cost wasn't worth it. The representative was aggressive and (regretably) I agreed to two treatments only for the entire summer; I signed no contracts. Because I didn't agree to the entire program with numerous applications, TruGreen would not guarentee results. I understood that and accepted the terms. The grass looked the same at the end of the summer as at the beginning so it would seem that the two treaments did little as predicted. I have given TruGreen a low score not because my lawn showed no improvement but because of the business model TruGreen uses. TruGreen's idea of "Customer Service" is really harrassment, intimidation and ultimatum. I started recieving phone calls to reauthorize their lawn service at the end of the 2011 summer. They were a combination of robo and human calls at all hours of the day. When I didn't respond, their final tactic was to call last week to say that if I don't call to cancel they would be coming out to service my lawn. I didn't call them and they did apply pesticide and fertilizer to my lawn today. In their business model if you don't call them that means you want them to provide service. Today I called to let TruGreen know the pesticide applied today was not authorized and the representative said that someone from my house had called to authorize the lawn service. That was absolutley not possible. So, in addition to their aggressive sales people, their frequent unwanted phone calls, and applying pesticice to my lawn without authorization, they fabricate a scenario whereby it appears "someone" authorized the service. TruGreen did agree not to charge me for the latest service and to cancel all future applicaitons. I probably could have avoided this entire situation by calling and canceling last fall. However, I didn't have a contract with them to cancel. I was not obligated to speak to them. I expected the calls to stop after a reasonable number of attempts on their part. I agreed to two lawn aplications and that was all. Nothing more, nothing less. The rest is just unquestionably bad business under the guise of "Customer Service". I would not recommend this busines to anyone.

I pay for one year of service at once. I am very satisfied with their services. We have the best looking grass on the block. Believe me, our neighbors are really weird about their grass. They cut it every other day, it's insane! We definitely will continue using Scotts.

The services provided for the '09 season went well. Our lawn was well maintained. In the '10 season I noticed bare spots appearing in various areas of our yard. In the '11 season the bare areas increased quite a bit and we were experiencing excessive weed growth. None of the invoices left at our residence for an lawn application visit made mention of the deterioring condition of our lawn. We talked to several TruGreen salespersons, who made unsolicited sales calls to us, and we requested of them that a TruGreen manager contact us so we could express our concerns. We also talked to a TruGreen service technician and a Dallas TX customer service representative and made the same requests for a local manager. We got no response from TruGreen from our many requests, so we decided to cancel TruGreen's services late in the season. After we cancelled the service we received a form letter from a TruGreen region manager who wrote that and quot;we would appreciate the opportunity to work with you againand quot; and that he and quot;will personally oversee that your Branch will work with you to restore your satisfactionand quot;. So we thought we would give TruGreen a second chance and we called the local general manager, whose name is cited on this webpage. The general manager and a member of our family met at our residence and it was agreed that TruGreen would come out and do an aeration and overseed test on a portion of the problem areas. The meeting was cordial and we were encouraged. Since it was late in the season the general manager said he would contact us by the end of April '12 to see how the test had come out and see how we could then proceed. It is now late May and we have had no response from TruGreen. We did, however. receive an advertisement form letter from TruGreen recently which said and quot;rejoin TruGreen now...and save 10%and quot;. It was this letter that prompted me to write this review. This is the first time I have ever publically commented about a business. In my 6+ decades on this Earth I never never experienced such poor customer service and response to a the customer's requests. BOTTOM LINE: If you contract TruGeen for lawn services and your lawn has no problems then you will be a satisfied customer. However, if you have any issues with your lawn, I wish you luck in contacting anyone in TruGreen management and getting it corrected. From our experience it appeared to us that TruGreen's philosophy is that sales were first and customer service came in a distant second in a two horse race.

They are fairly prompt. I don't like that sometimes they try to oversell me on other services and they are pushy about it. The pricing is a little on the high side but not by much. Other people would do it for $50-$55.

I really like them. I would recommend their lawn service as far as cutting and what should be done to have a beautiful garden. They have done a beautiful job in our lawn. I would say they are the best I have used. With respect to their prices are comparable to the other services that we have looked at. They come out 5 to 6 times a year. They do a winter application, spring application and couples of time in summer. Their quality is good. With respect to their responsiveness they are right up there; they follow up and there will note saying what they have done. They contact us by email. Their punctuality is fine. I'm never home when they come. They always say they are going to be there tomorrow or on a specific day and they are always there on the day they say.

They are consistent. They come out when they say they are going to come out. They leave me a note if I am not home letting me know they were there and what they did. They always do a fine job.

I wasn't here when they did it and it is too soon to tell if spraying was effective. However, they sprayed last year too and we had no bugs or caterpillars in our trees last year.

They came out about 5 or 6 times. I was happy with James who did the work and he always left a note that he was here and what he did that day. But, I had to call back at least 2 times because the weeds weren't dying. They happily came out to give us another treatment. They asked if we wanted the lawn aerated and seeded in Fall. We decided that would be a good idea. This Spring I noticed that we still had crab grass, violets and now bare spots in the lawn that weren't there last year. No new grass came up from the seeding they did in Fall. We decided not to hire them this year. They stopped over to start the treatments and we told them we wouldn't be using them again. Then, we received about 3 or 4 phone calls asking if we were happy with their services and we said and quot;noand quot;. They still wanted us to sign up for another year of lawn care. The last call we got, they offered to give us a discount to get out business back. We said and quot;noand quot; again because we weren't happy with the results from last year.

They came out and did the wrong service. They came out to aerate our lawn and we did not want this done. I told them I was not paying for this service. They also had come out and put down some treatment a while back without telling us. It ended up raining and the treatment was not effective. We have weeds coming up already. There were specific parts of the yard that I wanted done that were not done. They had promised to send out someone to walk the yard with us and we have yet to see anyone. I will not use them again.

They were very good. They did an excellent job.

I like everything about them. They have been good to work with and are professional. They are non invasive and are quick. They have a good price and have been very responsive to the few enquiries I have had for them. I would use them again in the future.

I have been using them for about twenty-one years. I have never had any problems with them at all. We do not schedule an actual appointment; instead, I will let them know the days that work best for me to come and they have been good about coming those days. My experience with them has been excellent.

I have been using TruGreen for about a year. The lawn looks very nice, it has taken a year to look like what they said it would look like but it is really green. It was a little challenging to get a hold of them over the winter but the technician who comes out has been responsive. I appreciate that they are careful and have not got any chemicals in my flower beds. I will continue to use TruGreen.

They do what they need to do, when they need to do it. They leave notifications on the door about what chemicals they used and how long I need to keep the kids and pets off of the lawn.

They let us know in advance that they are going to come out. They give me notes about what they find. They leave a sign on the top part of my ravine to make sure I know that they treated it. I have been very impressed so far.

They arrived on time, provided good service, and I was satisfied with the work.

The experience with them is great. When they come in, I don’t have to be here. They take care of everything and they leave. They leave me a bill and it is really easy. In terms of price, it is kind of expensive and that is why we really don’t do them anymore. Quality is good. If needed, I would use their services again in the future.

I found them to be more expensive than the company I am using currently. They were pricey. They charged $70 per application. I would consider using them in the future as long as they have the insect control feature.

I’m using them and I’m very satisfied with them. They are very nice. They call you before they come. They make sure that we know that they are coming. They are very good and very polite. They do a nice job. I’ll see how the grass turns out at the end of the year and I’ll make a judgment on them. I pay them for the year. I’ll wait till the end of the year before I make up my mind on them. If it does not show any improvement, then I’m certainly not going to have them again. They are here when they say they are going to be here. I will use their services again in the future.

I wasn’t home when they did it. One thing that I liked is, it had to do with the lawn, I have dogs and I requested them not to get liquid stuff. I wanted something granular because I felt that was safer for them and I can put them in the yard without having to wait for hours while the other stuff dried. They were good about keeping that in mind and doing the granular. Their price was probably about in the ballpark. They call first and want to know if my dog is going to be in and out, which sometimes I am not even around to take that call. They haven’t failed in their appointments but I haven’t actually talked to any of them. They leave me the messages on the door but I could say that they could have a little neater handwriting because some of them are sloppy and it’s hard to read.
