TruGreen Lawn Care - 5741

Not ever choosing to do business with TruGreen. My wife called today to get a quote. When my wife said that she needed to discuss the quote with me, he asked her why she refuses to put on pants. He implied over and over that she is a weak woman and I am controlling of her. He also made fun of the fact that we do not drink alcohol. This behavior is unacceptable and we will tell everyone we know to avoid this company at all costs.

Lawn looks great. This is my 2nd year using Trugreen.

I was very disappointed with them. My grass looked worse than the stuff I put on myself. I would call and complain, they said they would come out but they wouldn't show up. Very unhappy with their service. I bought the summer treatment. The reason I hired them is the neighbor behind me uses them and his yard always looked great. I would call them to tell them my grass looked bad. I could have done a better job myself. Next year I will not use them. They would always call the day before the treatment, sometimes they wouldn't even show up. Whoever I would call and talk with, they were nice enough but they would not follow thru. There are so many competitors out there. I will not give Tru-Green any more money.

Their product is better than the place I'm using this year. I'll be going back to them next year. The problem with these lawn services; I think if you pay for them in advance they are less responsive to you. If they come upon getting paid for the application they will apply things more punctually. In the future I won't pay in advance. You have to sometimes remind them to come, but their product works really well. Our lawn was eradicated of weeds. Their reliability is not as good as their product.

Had weeds present they came out for a respray after weeks of arguing and then I was charged again.

I stopped using them last year. ?I believe the cost was $45 per application. ?I didn't like their cold call tactics to try to up-sale services. ?Let me just say, even after I specifically asked them not to, they continued. ?That was the entire reason I switched to a new service.

I would possibly use them again. They did what they said they would do. They were very professional. Be careful not to rut the lawn.

Hired only for Mosquito sprays - supposed to get five in the package. Hired in May got our first spray June 7th and then nothing thereafter (having made numerous calls as to what was going on there) we got a second middle of July and we called as they needed to redo that one! Never showed! All and all you get what you pay for and they were positively the worst service we have hired in many years! We will go back to paying higher pricing with their stronger competitors who do what they say when they say as that's what business is all about! Totally disgusted I got a moment of cheapness in spring and decided to hire these folks as they were SO much cheaper - oh boy did I make a huge mistake!

I am still waiting to talk with someone. Left messages, no call backs yet.

I have been pleased with the service and plan on continuing to use them.

They could have probably treated our lawn, and communicated issues they experienced. They did not provide the service, or product they advertised.

The best part was, they're on time. They come when they say they're gonna come. The part that I don't like the most about Tru Green is, it's like a subscription service, it's not like every season. So, like if you forget over the time and don't tell them that you don't want service for the next year, they'll just assume that you want service for the next year.

Our route person, Mr. Behlke. provides us with outstanding service and tips to keep our lawn green and thick with no weeds. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, courteous and devoted to keep us totally pleased with our service. To us, Mr. Behlke is who makes us a steady TruGreen customer. See you next spring!!

Claimed that they use the "right" chemicals to control weeds through the year. They were $20 per ap more expensive than my previous firm. Weed control was NOT good. Also just came out on 10/31 to do a regular fertilization. It should be a winterization. They applied no weed control. Back in September when they did my first application with them, I asked the guy what weed control chemical he was using and he didn't know "had to check the receipt". Pretty sure I would know if I was inhaling it while spraying it. Really just a national firm that looks for volume.

Absolutely the worst lawn care experience I have ever had in 41 years of owning a home! Our lawn was demolished by insects while the lawn care "professionals" stood by. I had to call them to alert them to the obvious damage while they continued to fertilize. Three different "professionals" came by (including manager Greg) and supplied three different diagnosis. Treated it twice with little results. Then they promised to aerate and slit seed for us and never showed up. My husband and I ended up treating it ourselves and having to re-seed over 1/3 of the yard which ended up being a very expensive proposition. Very sad that they call themselves professionals.

They were punctual. Overall their services were as expected although the weed control services that they provided weren't kind of as good as we had hoped. Part of what they did was just fine but the weed control case in particular didn't meet our expectations.

They solicited business last year, but had lots of problems get ting the details and prices figured out before they even started, so we dumped them immediately. This year, they solicited the business again, and they seemed to be handling the process locally, so we gave them another chance. Told them not before May 15, so they showed up April 15 without notice. Told the guy to leave, and by his response, this happens frequently. Called to cancel, and another guy shows up a day or so later, no notice. Called again to cancel, followed up with an email, and I thought it was over, at least until they called again this evening telling me they do my lawn. Interesting, because I hired someone else, and they were out today. Caller insisted the do the lawn, gave the correct address. Wouldn't give up. No way I would ever consider doing business with this company, not in a million years, not even for free, not even if they paid me! Totally screwed up company absolutely lacking communication skills, and apparently knowledge of how to manage a lawn. I sure don't need to fertilize when there are still leaves on the ground and patches of frost!

Paid for a years worth of fertilizing starting in spring of 2015. That included 7 or 8 applications of "customized" fertilizing and/or weed killing. That year has come and gone and my lawn looks no better than it did last year. Several times last year, the tech spraying hit flower beds and killed some plants. Further, several other times, the tech knowingly came out and spayed with it raining or forecasted rain on the way (a wasted application).

They went over the yard with one of those gadgets that puts holes in the yard to put feed down.

I do not recommend TruGreen. They TWICE charged us for services we never agreed to. TWICE! The first time, the sales guy knew he made a mistake and STILL charged us. The second time, the woman just told us our credit card had expired, and recharged us for an entirely new service. They have dishonorable sales practices. And while they reimbursed us both times, I would not even go near them.

I wish it had not gone at all. My husband signed up for a lawn care program from a door salesman, and then had second thoughts. He called the company which is a national line, and asked to cancel, as is his right. They claimed there was nothing they could do, he would have to track down the sales person if he wanted to cancel. He tried again the next day, and was told not a problem, the plan was cancelled. We thought it was done, because no one showed up the following Tuesday when we were originally told the lawn was to be treated. On Wednesday, when we were out, someone showed up and left a service note on our door that said we were being charged for the service. I called this time, and was told they had no record what so ever of our 2 calls to cancel. Additionally, they had assigned my husbands phone number to another house entirely, so did not even have the correct contact information. I had to give the person on the phone the correct phone number 5 times, and I am sure its still incorrect, so I feel bad for the other house in the area, for which I now know their phone number, address and names because the customer service person gave me all their information just short of their credit card. TruGreen refused to refund a service we did not want, but actually offered us a discount on the future services. This was not only insulting and despicable customer service, but also humorous because I suspect, based on other reviews and neighbors stories, that no matter how many times we try and cancel, they will keep coming. I have submitted a Better Business Bureau complaint. I recommend staying away from this company all together. Very disappointed. I have learned my lesson.

They called ME and when I told them I wanted a representative to come to my home and review the scope of work and not just grab it off of Google Maps, they said they could do that. That was weeks ago and I haven't heard from them since.

Called to get an estimate- to their credit they were the first company to respond. They charged their minimum price on each yard, even though they were connected and very small and owned by the same person, making their price 4 times any other bid I received. I declined, but got called by Trugreen telemarketers several times a day until I told them to stop calling me. They may have a good product, but I don't think it's worth the high price and aggressive sales methods.

I have been using Scotts lawn service for years. I am extremely happy with them. I would recommend to anyone, they are good at their work.

I was approached by True Green contact, who did the same work for our neighbours, so i know that i am approaching a quality company. Initial setup was all good, the only reason why i didnt give good ratings was because of the first service not being performed as promised on my lawn, i planned fence installation work the next day after first service. I couldnt see any note or flags on the lawn on the day i was told service would be done so at the end of the day i called customer service to double check, i was told that the service was performed and when i told them about no note and flags they said that either the service man forgot to leave the note or would have serviced a wrong house. Customer service said they would contact the service man and let me know by next day but my problem was i had scheduled a contractor to come in the next day to put up a fence in my yard. I had to reschedule everything as i wanted the treatment done before fence could be putup. I can understand human error but unfortunately if this happens during your first service, for me it didnt leave a good impression and moreover 12-month payment is due before the first service. I contacted my initial local contact who signed me up for the service and explained him my problem of post-poning work because of service not being performed as promised. I liked the fact that the local contact took the responsibility and came in next day at around 7 am and performed the service and also did leave a note and flags in the lawn. I could give good rating for the service done but couldnt convince myself with what happened initially as i had to post pone another contractor's in the last minute which was a loss for the contractor.
