We have recommended this company to quite a few people. They did amazing work. They were very skilled. We had talked with the main boss and he was very polite. Everyone we had actual contact with was actually very friendly. They had amazing craftsmanship. The final product was a masterpiece. The final price was a little more expensive than most but it was worth it.

This deck and fence are breathtaking. We love our home primarily because of the customization of the deck and fence to be quite honest. It is like nothing I have ever seen before and we are constantly complimented on it. It will make a wonderful selling point if we ever decide to leave this home. This company has quality workers that do quality work. We are quite satisfied and would only have positive things to say about this company. I can't comment on what we paid for the price of the deck and fence. That all took place during our moving process and that was a busy time for us.

My husband paid this company for their work at our home so I can not comment on what they charged. I will say that it was very reasonable or otherwise we wouldn't have used them. We found that their work was very thorough and accurate. The only thing I think they need to improve upon would be communicating with their customers. We did have some times where they would not show up and not call. I feel they could be slightly better about that. Overall, they are a great company and their work impressed us.

This company is professional from start to finish and does excellent work. Bill Thomas provided good advice about the kind of pergola that would be best suited for our yard, described in detail how he would build it, and helped us get city approval for the structure. Once started, the pergola took little time to construct. Material and workmanship is first-rate. Job site is clean.

This is a very professional, company. The communication was great! They arrived on time and completed work when promised. Very nice people to deal with!

They do beautiful work and I highly recommend them. They are very difficult to get a hold of and admit that they do not have time to check their voicemail very often. You never know when they are going to show up, and when they do, they expect payment that day, which can be tricky for such an expensive job with no advanced warning to get the funds together. If they hired an office manager who returned phone calls and handled billing in a professional manner, then I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone. Until then, I recommend them with the warning that you may get frustrated and irritated, but the job will get done and it will get done well. With patience, you will be happy you hired them.

The process was as smooth as could be, and we are very happy with the result. They met our scheduling requirement and always did exactly what they said they would do. They called prior to every visit to let us know when they would come to work. Bill and Cindy Thomas both came for the proposal, and then one or both came to do the actual work, with the assistance of a helper for the post-setting. We highly recommend the Thomas's. Both price and result were excellent, and dealing with them was a pleasure.

They do an excellent job and the work is amazing. The fence is the most gorgeous piece of carpentry I have ever seen. They came out and walked through our yard and made great suggestion that really showed they had a great understanding and knowledge of their business. They built pretty much everything in one day and it looked beautiful. If you compare prices to other estimates you might find them higher, but if you compare the quality of their work to similar you will find them a value. They are also extremely easy to work with and would easily recommend them to anyone.

The work was high quality, and we got exactly what we expected. They were very good at helping us decide what we wanted, and their quote was reasonable.

They started work more than 4 weeks after start period on quote. The late start date did cause a problem because the cooler temperatures of fall make it difficult to get the deck stained/protected before winter. We called early one morning after multiple attempts and just happened to get someone on the phone. That seemed to expedite the project. We are fairly understanding - outdoor construction in Wisconsin is not easy with variable rain and temperatures, but we did not get the necessary communication. Once started, the project was completed relatively quickly. They used good quality materials and the end product looked for the most part just how they described. During the project I did mention some things that were not as aesthetically appealing (especially compared to the existing deck), they made some modifications, but still did not get the new deck to look as good as the original. The cuts were rough and installed trim to hide it - unlike the existing deck.

They were very hard working people. I truly believe they know what they are doing. They also helped me move a piano into my house. There was a free piano across the street. This was the first day I met this company. I was very surprised. They are a sensible company. I really liked them a lot. I would recommend them.

The Thomas' are artists! Their bid was higher than others we received but the finished product is well worth it. We have received only rave reviews from all who have seen our new yard. In addition to designing a fence with the style of our house and our budget in mind, the Thomas' applied distinctive finishing touches and used rugged and attractive hardware. They are very busy, so flexibility in scheduling was necessary. Our retaining wall presented a big challenge for the Thomas'. They handled it with grace despite inconvenience to them and their schedule. Overall, a great experience.

Bill and Cindy rearranged their schedule to accommodate a change in timing of some landscaping and sprinkler system work I was having done in my yard. They were punctual and most professional, and completed the fence in a very timely fashion. I would certainly hire them again in the future.

Great experience overall. Bill & Cindy are truly craftsmen who care about the final outcome of their work. They were very prompt in coming out to do the first walk through of what all I wanted done (many projects overall), they helped me develop a timeline that would work for them and myself, and then completed the work way ahead of schedule and to a much higher quality level then I even expected. I'm incredibly pleased with the work they did and they were a joy to work with. They always called ahead to confirm dates/times and work to be completed. Then they called afterwards to ensure it was done to my satisfaction. I will definitely hire them again to build a pergola next spring and whatever other landscaping projects come up in my future!

Called to set-up an appointment for an estimate and was told that they would come out on Saturday, but would call before to set up a specific time. They never called and didn't come out.

Thomas and his wife did an excellent job. Everything from the estimate to the finished work went very well. They were very concerned about exactly how I wanted it installed. Showed up early in the morning and worked all day. I asked them to add a curved top to the gate for more privacy while they were working on it and Thomas fulfilled my request. I have recommended them to several neighbors who complimented it. Thomas and his wife are very courteous and hard workers. I will definitely hire them again when I replace the old fence on the other side of our yard.

The Thomas team went above and beyond the call of duty. It was an absolutely great experience to work with them. They were creative in design, relentless in their work ethic, respectful of our time, thorough and informative in follow up and friendly to be around. We will recommend them to everybody we know.

Our whole experience with Thomas Fence and Deck was outstanding from start to finish. The quality of the finished product is outstanding and the process was painless. I even think our dog misses Bill and Cindy.

Both Bill and Cindy came out to give the estimate. Very nice, smart people. Drove a flat bed truck well maintained and suited for their line of business. Called us earlier in the day because they were running 30 minutes late. They spoke from a wealth of experience and were willing/eager to share their professional opinions. Had a book with pictures of previous jobs that was used to discuss options when we (my wife and I) struggled for ideas. No pressure - provided a variety of solutions that centered around our needs/wants and were cost conscious. Listened very well. Could tell they cared about their customers/jobs. Provide discounts for veterans and Angie's List members. Besides Bill and Cindy, employ one other. Do business with a handshake. Rare breed today - best initial meeting I have every had with a business that I was looking at to do work on my home.

They were excellent! Bill Thomas did an excellent job and performed as promised. The new deck is superior to that of the old deck, incorporating posts set in concrete (so that posts do not come into contact with soil), the deck is self-supported and is no longer attached to the house, pergola strips have a ''rain bevel'' to facilitate rain shedding. Bill kept us informed of each step during the process. They did quality construction & had great customer service!!

Bill and Cindy were a pleasure to work with. We will look to them first for other outdoor wood projects. They had excellent ideas and listened to what we wanted. They were professional and respectful in everything they did. They kept us informed and worked to fit our schedule. We live in a historic home, so they designed and built a fence that would be historically appropriate. The fence and deck handrails are gorgeous and well built. The price was excellent, not the cheapest, but a definite value for the custom work done. They also have Angie's List, veteran and other discounts. They built a related retaining wall described in another report.

Owners were polite, on time, friendly and did quality work.

SO COURTEOUS AND WONDERFUL!! THEY DO A GOOD JOB!!

BILL AND CINDY ARE WONDERFUL TO DEAL WITH. THEY RESPONDED PROMPTLY TO PHONE CALLS AND WERE ON TIME FOR THE ESTIMATE. THEY SPENT A LOT OF TIME LISTENING TO ME AND OFFERING SUGGESTIONS FOR MY FENCE AND A SCREEN HOUSE I WANTED TO BUILD. THEY DON'T DO PARTITION FENCING, THEY SAID, BECAUSE IT COMES FROM CHINA AND THEY POLLUTE THE WATER THERE. THEY ALSO DIDN'T RECOMMEND SPRAY PAINTING A FENCE BECAUSE OF DAMAGE TO SURROUNDING FOLIAGE. THEY ARE NICE, HONEST PEOPLE. THEY WERE BUSY UNTIL LATE NOVEMBER, SO I WOULD HAVE HAD TO WAIT. THE ESTIMATE WAS HIGHER THAN I EXPECTED, SO I'LL SHOP AROUND.
