Quality Fireplace & Chimney Service

I own a house that is nearly 100 years old and I have used many different chimney companies in the past. Each company has tried to upsell me, providing quotes upwards of $8,000 to line my chimney or perform various repairs. The Quality Fireplace technician was knowledgeable and professional. He took the time to explain everything he found during the inspection and the options to repair. Will definitely use them again in the future and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a reliable, honest chimney company.

I used it right away. It was okay. There were no extra charges. They didn't have the most professional presentation. I was actually charged by them in addition to paying for the big deal. Once I called them, they quickly refunded the amount they charged me. They handled it well. The guys that showed up were just not the most professional guys.

Abraham and Javier came to do the cleaning and inspection, Abraham in the the lead. They arrived on time, listened patiently while I explained my concern (beautiful fire one day, smoke blowing in to the living room when we had a fire the next day.) Spent a good bit of time explaining the process, invited me to view the video he took after the cleaning (all well with tiles and grout) and suggested that a cap might be a better option than the inset screen I had - without any pressure at all to buy it. Explained that the smoke coming in was most likely due to having a fire on a very windy day, not due to any problem with the chimney. Also noted (and took pictures of ) cracks in the chimney crown, and even more disturbingly, a screenless/capless inactive flu - once used for the furnace which is now side vented. Went to the basement and found that the door to the "chimney" was actually being pushed open - apparently by debris. Abraham gave me an estimate and some literature - again no pressure - advised me to get it cleaned out and capped to avoid further water/debris damage and nesting animals, but also said it was not an emergency. I do expect to get that work done by this company as soon as weather and scheduling permits. It was a pleasure doing business with this company. I would have been satisfied had Abraham and Javier been just professional, competent and efficient. They were all of those things, but also very personable and willing to discuss issues/options with me without pressure, or condescension. Altogether, a very good experience.

They arrived when they said they would, set up coverings to protect hearth and carpets, and explained what they would be doing before they started. They continued to explain what they were doing throughout the inspection. Courteous, efficient and clean. A super value.

Abraham and Javier were the technicians to perform the cleaning and inspection. They were friendly and personable. Abraham determined that the chimney did not need to be cleaned... we purchased the home in April so we wanted to get a good cleaning and inspection prior to using it. I appreciate his honesty. He could have easily "cleaned" it and I wouldn't have even known. Prior to the inspection, he had mentioned applying the cleaning to a future credit for one after a season of burning. However, after the inspection it was determined and easily seen by the pictures that our chimney was in need of a liner. So that credit will be applied to the repairs. No one likes to hear that a pricey repair is needed, but he was very professional and wrote up a proposal and provided me with literature to read about the chimney lining system they use which would be useful if we choose to look at other bids. I feel confident that when we are able to financially move forward with the repairs that we will use Quality Fireplace Roof & Chimney Service.

They called the day before to let you know about what time they'd arrive. Very professional in their work and left the house just as clean as when they arrived. I'd use and recommend them again.

Very detailed in description of chimney issues and why repairs are needed. Crew was trustworthy & professional. I am sure that they would do an excellent job on repairs, but repair prices seem high. I am sure that item list provide needs to be done, but I will seek out bids for work prior to hiring them at their price. If money were no object- I would have hired them that day, repair price listed as $5,604.00 (two chimneys) for damper cap, tuckpointing, re-surfacing / replacing crown, install chimney liner, ...

Sweep/Inspection was quick and clean. Ended up using them to replace the top of the chimney, they subcontracted the work but the guys they sent did a great job and were very nice. Will definitely use them when it's time to sweep again.

the camera doesn't lie. Thank goodness we called before using our fireplace because we had cracks in three tiles inside the chimney. So they put in a warrantied heat shield. Plus, a lot of work was preformed when I was not able to be at the house and I completely trusted them. Great work!

Damage to the interior of the chimney lining was discovered during cleaning / inspection. The issue was serious enough and clearly detailed and documented by inspection - that home insurance was contacted and completed the repair cost with same company, strongly based on positive reputation of company. A caste in place chimney liner was used, the only downside was waiting for the correct temperature outside, with the bitter icy cold spell, we waiting for a bit. At times felt like we were forgotten by company, however with each call we did get reassurance that we were on the list. Responsiveness was my only low score (B) for this company as I was happy with the end result. Very thorough and decent initial inspection which carried through the entire process.

The representative who came out to look at our chimney was very thorough and professional. He took many pictures of the inside of our flu so that we could physically see where the problems were. He also indicated, what he believed, could be covered by our homeowners insurance. He also described what repairs should be done for our and our home's safety during our fire-burning season. He then emailed the estimate in a timely manner. We have yet to use their service as we are in the midst of roof repairs.

Arrived promptly. Quality cleaning and was very careful to contain dust/ash.

Used an Angie's List offer which included a video inspection, which was not done because we had the wrong kind of chimney. I wish I had know that service only applied to certain styles, which is why I rated the price a B. Other than that, happy with the service.

Great, super fast and professional. The only problem is that that they showed up at my home address instead of the property where the work was done. They mentioned that this sometimes happens with work they get from Angie's list. No biggie. I would definitely use them again.

The company contacted me to schedule a service date promptly after purchasing the deal on Angies List. Two gentleman showed up as planned on the service date and reviewed the work to be done with me. They did everything that was expected to my satisfaction. They even explained to me what the appliance chimney was and showed me how to empty the ashes from the basement. They also advised that I should line the appliance chimney and gave me a quote (it was expensive - but that doesn't mean it was expensive compared to other companies as I really do not know what the going rate is for a liner - just sounded like a lot to me at the time. If I shop around one day, it might be a good price for all I know). In the future, I would be willing to contact this company again to clean/sweep/inspect my chimneys.

They did all we asked and also gave us a quote for installing a log lighter. They cleaned up after themselves and left it like they found it.

I purchased their deal for chimney cleaning and inspection. There arrived within their quoted time frame. They were polite and immediately upon entering the house one removed his shoes while the other put on some booties. They took their time and made sure that everything went well and were very clean. Their inspection showed that I had an area of concern and another area I should just be "aware" of. I ended up contracting with them to provide a fix to the crown of my chimney. The area to be aware of was some loose mortar at a joint. Instead of quoting me a fix to the issue they told me it was no big deal as long as I keep up with regular cleaning and burn less than a cord of wood between cleanings (which is not a problem as we don't use the fireplace often). I did ask about a fix and was told how it would be performed, but they again told me that I was not in need of the fix. Not often do you find a company that is not trying to upset you in any way possible if they see an in. I will not hesitate to call them whenever I need a cleaning or repair.

They cleaned and inspected the chimney and found some cracks in the flue and will be coming out to repair that. they were prompt efficiant and cleaned up afterwards. They are professional and thorough. I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks!
