Quality Fireplace & Chimney Service

The need for a new liner was identified during a home inspection. The closing date on the house was coming up very quickly and Quality Fireplace was able to fit me in within a couple of days. Ed and Jeff were on time and completed the work quickly and for the amount that they had quoted over the phone. Ed was very comfortable to talk to and explained the work being done. I had no complaints and could see from the old liner that it was needed work.

Well - courteous, friendly company - appreciated them taking the time to explain potential updates/repairs. Not pushy to get future work - they explained good times for future work.

Overall, when great. Only recommendation for Ed is to have shoe covers during inclement weather.

They arrived promptly. worked for about half an hour and finished. They did not find any problems that needed to be addressed.

The service was great, they were prompt professional and clean. They answered questions and helped resolve a few issues as a part of the service. I would definitely call them again.

I bought Angie's Big Deal for a chimney sweep and inspection. I contacted the mike@qualityfireplaceinc.com on January 22, 2013 and asked for an appointment the first week in February. By email he suggested Feb. 6 between 2 and 4 PM. On Feb. 6, without any reminder or confirmation calls, Ed and George arrived at 2:20 PM. Within minutes they had their equipment set up and began working. It took approximately 30 minutes to complete the cleaning, then they spent a few minutes talking about questions we had pertaining to our particular situation. They observed that we lack chimney caps, and left a quote for them in case we decide to get them in future. There was no hard sell or pushiness, and it had the feel of professionals doing their business while advising us of something in our best interest. They were out by 3 PM. There was absolutely no mess left. They were responsive, prompt, professional, friendly and efficient. They did not waste time, but I did not feel they were in a huge rush to get out. I would call them again and can recommend them without reservation. I really can't think how they could have done a better job.

Ed and Jeff came out quickly to complete the chimney sweep after I purchased the Angie's List deal. It was quite the job (packed with debris) and they were kind, professional, had great senses of humor and did a great and clean job. They offered services (like a cap, which I happily agreed to) but didn't sell me anything I didn't need. I highly recommend their services!

Ed and George showed up on time and got to work immediately. They took care when bringing in their equipment and protecting the work area around the fireplace. While George cleaned, Ed inspected both chimneys and gave us an honest assessment of repairs that should be made, with no hard-sell or scare tactics. Very professional approach to their work, as well as being personally friendly guys. We took his advice and had a chimney cap installed, and prioritized the future repairs. I think Ed is an honest businessman who values the reputation of this company and understands the importance of Angie's List reviews. They will be our first choice for future work.

Mike and his assistant were very professional. He explained what they were doing, and took the time to also explain what they found relative to the chimney at the roofline and repairs that will be needed in spring. He also explained what they did for the inspection of the chimney prior to, during, and following the cleaning. He found debris and soot that had not been found on the internal chimney sill by the last company we had come several years ago, including some items we believe were there since the house was built. He explained everything that we were looking at during the scoping of the chimney with a camera, and gave an estimate as to what the repairs would cost. They were careful to not make a mess, and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. For only $ 140 more than what I paid to get the chimney cleaned six years ago, we also had the chimney scoped and a cap installed on the water heater vent. I would definitely recommend Quality Fireplace and Chimney Service...great job!

Very efficient and professional

They were very friendly and helpful. They showed me exactly how my fireplace works, and offered me the lowest cost solution to the issues I was having.

Everything went well. He came in and did the sweep and then put the camera up inside the chimney and we were able to watch it go all the way up to the top of the chimney. He then did a very thorough cleaning up. He also answered all my questions.

They were very prompt, professional and knowledgeable.

We just moved into a new house and so have no history with our 'new' fireplace. Mike from Quality fireplace came out and cleaned and inspected our fireplace and chimney. He explained how the damper worked (as well as pointed out the old damper control that was currently useless, as the previous owner had simply ripped out the old damper and left the control there). He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He also provided a list of things he recommended we fix in the future, and let us know the priority of each of the repairs. He even performed an inspection of our furnace vent (which had nothing to do with the fireplace), and installed a needed vent cap. I was VERY impressed with his knowlege and how clean he left the living room area after the fireplace inspection. (Honestly, I was amazed at how clean he got the actual fireplace burning area as well!) I will definately use Quality Fireplace in the future.

They were 20 minutes late but other than that the work was really good.

The two-man Quality Fireplace crew came in and immediately got to work. Michael took one look into my chimney and declared, yup - they use this quite a bit! And, we do too - about once or twice a week during the winter months. They then swept from the top and bottom. They removed a part of the fireplace that should have been cleaned many times throughout my house's history - but never had been. They cleaned hard-to-access areas of the chimney that also should've been cleaned before, but, again, they were able to bring down buckets of soot, proving that other companies cut corners in their services. I'm thrilled. I got a complete chimney sweep at a great deal including a video camera scoping of the interior of the chimney and unbeatable service. I will ABSOLUTELY use Quality Fireplace again.

We hired Quality Fireplace to do a chimney seep and inpection as well as attach a chimney cap on my 20+ year old chimney. The chimney had only been swept 1 or 2 times and was certainly in needed it. The cleaning and chimney cap installation went fine. I chose them because of all the great reviews on Angies List. My problem came when they made a recommendation, or should I say a stern suggestion that I needed a chimney liner intalled for my flue that vented my water heaters. They referred to an orphaned water heater that was created when I had my furnaces replaced 2 years earlier. This in fact was not the truth since our old furnaces never were vented out of the chinmey. It was simply a scare tactic. They also said I was lucky there was no further damage done due to the mild winter last year. The price quoted totalled $2,700 for the installation of a stainless steel liner. They said the price was so high because they would have to bring in a lift truck to complete the work. They also recommended that the crown on my chmney needed to be fixed do to a crack. Needless to say I was stunned at the cost. My solution, if in fact a liner ever was really needed, was to contact another company that was recommended by my furnace guy. My furnace guy also said that it was probably a good idea to have a liner installed because of the moisture created by the water heaters. I had the other company out and they installed a full liner in less than on hour at a cost of $350. Quality Fireplace had suggested that the installation would take a full day. The liner that was installed was aluminum and not stainless steel because they said stainless steel would only be needed for a coal or oil furnace, not a water heater . I asked them how the crown to the fireplace looked and they said it had a small crack thay they caulked with silicone. I also asked them how another company could be so much higher and they said it was common for customer to not get quotes form other companies and just get taken advantage of. I am certainly glad I got another quote. It seems they were trying to really take advantage of me.

The guys were very professional and explained everything to me in details. I would recommend them without any question.

We were very pleased. They were professional and came in and gave us a quote on a problem we had for a further repair which we had them do.

They inspected the chimney in our newly purchased house and were able to tell us whether we had working fireplaces and what factors did/did not contribute to their functioning. Swept chimney and replaced the cap to keep critters out. Great service. Would use again.

we put in for the angies deal on chimney caps and inspection mainly to get the free inspection. We had been told by a previous co. that we had extensive cracking and needed a whole liner for chimney. We haven't used our fireplace in 5 yrs because of this. We we're finally able to budget this and had planned on using Quality Fireplace Inc. after the inspection. They SHOWED us the cracks which were minimal and above the roof line so there is no safety problem and doesn't really need re[air. H told us to go to Menards and get a fire resistant caulk for 20.00 and do our selves, or they could do for 150....we went to Menards.

Workers were polite and professional. Job done in timely fashion. Clean-up was excellent. Only negative was that a ladder was blow down on top of my car causing $1500.00 damage. The company was good about covering the damage; I did not have to involve my insurance company.

I called the service and they were able to come 2 days later. Both men were courtweous and thorough in their work, doing an excellent job of removing the soot and debris in the fireplace andledge area. One of the men climbed to inspect the chmney and roof area. They covered their shoes and worked so as not to have any soot or debris end up on the floor. The work was done in a timely manner, and they provided me with literature on how to maintain the fireplace as well as other services they provided. There was no pressure on their part. I was very satisfied with the work,and have been enjoying the fireplace since then!
