Abraham and Xavier were on time. Abraham spent a lot of time explaining what he was looking for as he video'd the chimneys. One was ok but needed a cap. He found several cracks in the tiles in the other, gave us options for repair, and will send a proposal. They accomplished the job with minimal dirt and cleaned everything up. He was very knowledgeable, and obviously takes great pride in his work.

I felt a little mislead with the pricing; I would've liked a break down of all the repairs. The price was high. After he did the repairs, I felt like they were a little pushy on more repairs. I didn't feel as though I could trust what they were saying. He did show me before and after pictures, which I liked.

The service rep, Abraham, called whild enroute to our home. Arrived shortly before the appointment time and we discussed my expectations and any issues we were having with the fireplace and chimney. Abraham explained the process and how he would be using video to record the chimney condition. He showed me photos from other jobs and explained items like missing compound between flue joints and cracks in the flue. He checked the damper to make sure it was operating correctly and cleaned the flue from top to bottom including the firebox. He them began the video inspection and i watched as he added rods and rotated the camera as he worked his way to the top. We reveiwed the picture together and he pointed out problem spots and why they were an issue. Abraham them explained two different ways to address and we discussed prelimary pricing. Following the discussion he cleaned and vacuumed the area and removed all of this equipment. As discussed, I received a detailed quote with pictures of the flue later that evening.

I was told by a home inspector when I bought my house a few years ago that the fireplace/chimney needed to be repaired so I just assumed that I couldn't use it. But this holiday season I really wanted to be able to use the fireplace so I called around to see if I could get an estimate on how expensive the repair would be. The other places I called told me that they didn't do any free estimates and I didn't want to have to pay somebody to look at my chimney and then charge me to quote a price that I didn't want to pay. But Quality Fireplace did offer a free estimate and I made an appointment with them but after having spoken to other contractors I was beginning to feel very discouraged and nearly cancelled. I am so glad I didn't. Abe and Ed called me and asked if it was okay if they came early which was fine. They were so friendly and nice and let me know what needed to be done and the best news was that I didn't need any expensive repair and that everything looked in order. They did a video inspection, removed a damper plate and did a sweep and even replaced the ash dump door for no charge. Abe and Ed were great. They let me know what needed to be done and why without charging me first! I will definitely use them again.

I got an Angie's List deal for a chimney cleaning and inspection. The tech did a nice job with the cleaning. He was very careful and did a good job. He did a video inspection of my chimney and reviewed it with me. He pointed out there was some morter missing from between a few of my clay tiles. He talked about a process to fix this. I don't know, maybe this needs to be done, but it seemed like he was giving me a sales job. I also asked him to look at my chimney cap, as I wanted a price to replace what I have with a solid concrete cap. He never went up to look at the condition of what is up there currently. He told me he would have had to get out his 40 foot ladder . . . Seems if chimneys are your business, that wouldn't be unreasonable to expect! Lastly, I asked him about moving the gas valve for my log starter. He was supposed to get back to me with a price and never did. About a month after the service, someone called to ask me about the relining procedure the tech tried to sell me. I told the rep that I was still waiting back to hear about a price to move the gas valve. He told me he would check into it and get back to me. I never received a return phone call. All in all, they cleaned my chimney and did a good job with that. However, I felt like this was a way for them to get a foot in the door to sell you other products/services. Their follow up for quotes for other work was nonexistent.

The initial appointment needed to be rescheduled at the last minute due to my personal circumstances and theywere very nice about it and rescheduled within the next week. They were a little late due to going to incorrect directions by their staff but called us and came within a half hour. They were very professional and clean. Answered all of my questions and kept me informed on the status of their progress. I was very happy with the service.

It went very well. Gave me an unsolicited estimate to seal chimney flues. But I passed on that.

They showed up exactly on time and went right to work. They checked the chimney, which was clean so didn't need sweeping. Then they put a camera all the way up the inside of the chimney to look for any internal cracks or separations. After they finished with the visual, they tested the gas to make sure it was working. They then went outside and up on the roof to check the chimney cap. It had a couple cracks as well as one down the outside of the chimney. They covered the cracks with a sealant that is supposed to protect it for years. He also replaced the metal chimney top that was rusted with a stainless steel one. They were very professional and helpful. They explained everything along the way and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Our problem turned out to be tricky to solve, but Ed from Quality Fireplace worked through each difficulty promptly and graciously, stayed with our contract even after his costs went up and got the job done. The people doing the work all seemed to know their business, were friendly and did the work safely. Not the cheapest offer we got for the work to begin with, but in the end, more than worth it to deal with a thoroughly professional organization.

I made the request through Angie's List. He responded right away. We set up a time for him to come out to the house. He arrived right on time. He was very friendly, but still business-like. He climbed up and checked things out. He was able to install the 3 chimney caps right away. He had the right sizes in his van. I like a company where the workers come prepared and don't have to be running back to the shop for parts most of the day. After the job was complete, we talked about other things we might do to the chimney at a later date. I have confidence in the job he did and would definitely call on him when we're ready to do more chimney work.

Good - professional and quick

It went very well. Mike and Chris were prompt, provided great service, and were courteous. I'd definitely hire them again.

The cleaning went well. The two gentlemen were on time and very friendly (can't remember their names but one of the guys said he is pretty new to working there). They wore booties to protect my floor and laid out a big cloth to eliminate a mess on my rugs and hardwood floors. The cleaning went well and they did an excellent job. I didn't see them doing anything with a video inspection which was I thought supposed to be part of the process or if they did it wasn't something they shared with me. I would have liked to see it. The only complaint I have is that my house smells very strongly of chimney soot now and hoping that will go away soon...not sure if maybe after I burn a fire that will help but it is very strong.

We bought the $239 Angie's list deal for a cleaning & inspection for a fireplace in our home that we hadn't used since we bought the house. I had requested a weekend date & was able to get a Saturday within two weeks of when I had purchased the deal. We received a couple of status calls on the date of service, which we really appreciated. Two men showed up to perform the job. We were made aware of a couple maintenance concerns, some of which we paid an additional fee to be addressed. We did not feel pressured to make a purchase. Bryan did a very thorough job explaining their findings to us. We were happy with the professional service and peace of mind that comes with it. Won't hesitate to contact them again in the future.

Abe and Ed performed a chimney sweep and video inspection on my 1949 wood-burning chimney. While Abe was sweeping the chimney Ed did an external inspection. Ed also went down to the basement and inspected the venting of my furnace and water heater as well as looked for signs of moisture. He took the time to educate me on the specifics of the venting and what should be done in the future when the furnace and/or water heater are replaced. After Abe finished sweeping the chimney he performed a video inspection with Ed, who explained the status of my chimney's interior to me, showing me photos of my chimney and comparison photos from other chimneys. Abe also took the time to show me the mechanics of the inside of my chimney (I'm a new homeowner with lots of questions!) and how to properly open and close the damper. Both Abe and Ed were friendly with (and tolerant of) my cat, who was very curious about the entire process. :-) Ed provided me written recommendations for future maintenance, taking time to draw a diagram for this newbie. As soon as Mike and Ed offer a special on the maintenance work needed for my chimney, I'll hire them and request Abe come out and do the work! So, yes, I was very satisfied with the work performed by Quality Fireplace and Chimney Service. PS: I wish Abe the best of luck on his upcoming certification! ~ JB

Two representatives came to perform the inspection and sweep. They were very efficient and cleary explained the process and work that they were peforming. They did a good job of putting drop cloths down and assurming that there was no mess. We were very satisfied with the work that was done and will definitely hire them again when we clean our chimney again.

Once we purchased The Deal, the service was very easy to schedule. Brian and Josh arrived as promised, completed the scheduled service, offered advice on additional treatments in the future to prolong the integrity of the chimney and fireplace flue, and thoroughly cleaned the area where they had been working. Pleased with the professionalism and price of the service, we went ahead and pre-scheduled the next cleaning. I would highly recommend their service!

Excellent service. Ed started the inspection of the chimney in the basement, and immediately caught a safety issue. The flue for the gas water heater wasn't securely connected at the water heater, and Ed carefully explained how I should fix that. We then discussed a chimney liner, which is needed. Ed then looked into the attic to check for signs of leaks, found none, and patiently explained what he was looking for. Once up on the roof, Ed did a thorough inspection. I knew the roof and chimney needed work, so wasn't surprised by most of what he found. Ed also spotted a flashing issue that I don't have the knowledge to recognize, explained how it could be effectively repaired,. We discussed proper ventilation of the attic to maintain the roof. Ed explained everything very well, and was patient when I wanted to learn. (I ask a lot of questions, as I am buying properties to use as rentals.) I will be hiring Quality Fireplace and Chimney Service to do the work that is needed. The quote was reasonable, and I have confidence it will be done right. Going up on roofs is not my thing, and I appreciate that the company has the proper insurance and spends time training on safety issues. Best $52 I have spent!

They were great. Showed up on time and got started right away. Explained what they were doing and why they were doing it. Gave us a quote for other work that could be done but also helped us in learning how we could prevent further damage and maintain it ourselves. Great company with respectful and knowledgable employees.
