They were great

Getting the work scheduled was difficult. Access to the correct person was very limited. They did not work well with other subcontractors on the job and I was forced to intercede in a conflict between the subs in order to get my job done. They also did not honor the full contracted amount when they did not send in the correct rebate paperwork. As a result some of the promised rebates in the contract were never received and the total job cost was more than listed in the contract.

They did a great job and I've been very happy with the work. The person they sent out was very straightforward and professional. They didn't try to pressure me into buying anything I didn't want

They are fairly punctual and their price is also very competitive. Their quality of service has been very good but, I am not sure why I keep having small problems over and over again.

It went well..

1st choice was my 3rd quote for the project. I was sick of the price and hassle of heating oil. Wayne quoted me boiler made by Crown, not a household name (like Carrier, etc). That said, his quote was for about 40% less than the 'big' names, and a little research shows them to be a large, reputable manufacturer. Wayne was low key, low pressure, and knowledgeable. My favorite part was when he said: "If I miss something in my quote, it's my responsibility, not yours." More on that in a minute. I was not present for the install itself (gotta work to pay for the thing!), but my family reported little more than noise, understandable when ripping out an old boiler. When I called home for an update, I spoke with the installer, who gave me a friendly update and answered my questions. Later when I got home, I noticed little or no mess and great-looking new plumbing attaching my new boiler to the old feeds. My only gripe was with the removal of the old tank. The gauge on the tank read "E" for empty when he wrote the quote. But, there was apparently about 20 gal of oil left in the 275 gal tank, which was more than they could dispose of at the time, so they had to leave the tank and set up an appointment to get the remaining oil pumped out. Now, anyone who drives a car knows that "E" means "almost gone, but a little left". Bottom line is that I got charged an additional $100 to pump out about $100 worth of oil from my tank, before they could remove it. I guess that didn't fall under Wayne's claim of responsibility for 'missing' something during the quote process. Had that $100 been on the quote, I would not have flinched, but it wasn't. Bottom line is that I would use them again, despite that $100 frustration. Everything else about the experience was friendly and professional.

They were very professional and accommodating in scheduling the appointment. The service person was very helpful in suggesting routine maintenance that could be done. The work performed was done quickly and professionally.

I called 1st Choice after receiving an ad for them in the mail (and checking their standing on Angie's List!). On the rescheduled day, the serviceman arrived right on time, was done early and didn't recommend any additional service. He was pleasant and professional. He explained some of the basics of running my furnace/AC to me. To be honest, I was ready for the hard sell on the air duct cleaning, especially since I have pets and kids, but it was never mentioned. I will call them again in the future!

Job 1: A/C went out on one of hottest weekends of the year. Called that Monday a.m. and received same day service. Steve was very pleasant even after being on call all weekend and working in extremely hot conditions. I asked if our 13 yr. old Carrier was still efficient and he said it was fine and did not try to sell me a new unit. Job 2: Scheduled service call - tech Tim, arrived on time, was quick and polite.

I bought an old gutted house as a rehab for investment purposes. This was my first adventure of this size. Wayne Abendschein, in particular, and everybody else on the team has been very helpful. Wayne did so much more than just sell me heating/AC services. He explained the proper sequence of activities Id need to do, gave me excellent referrals for other sub-contractors, and worked with me all the way. This has been a huge learning experience for me and Wayne has been an important part of it. Im very happy with this company. Theyve given me a great price, great service and great advice.

Very good experience. They came quickly with an estimate. Came with several estimates to fit our price range. The workers were quick and friendly. The only minor complaint was we asked to move the A/C unit and it wasnt in the work order, so it didnt happen.

The work was quickly done after the old system failed at the onset of cold weather. They were very skilled and knowledgeable as to this type of heating system (which many heating contractors are hesitant to tackle).

THE COMFORT SPECIALIST (WAYNE) WAS POLITE, INFORMATIVE AND VERY EASY TO WORK WITH, EXPLAINED IN GREAT DETAIL THE TYPE OF PRODUCTS WERE AVAILABLE AND HELPED ME UNDERSTAND THE BEST PRODUCT FOR ME. THE INSTALLATION TECHS WERE VERY COMPETENT, WORKED QUICKLY AND ACCURATELY, AND APPEARED TO KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. EXCELLENT CLEAN-UP AS WELL. THEY RESPONDED QUICKLY BOTH TO MY PHONE CALLS AND COMING TO MY HOME TO TROUBLE SHOOT AFTER INSTALL. I RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY WITHOUT RESERVATION. GIVE WAYNE A CALL.
