I like everything about them. The price was reasonable, the service was prompt, and they met my goal of getting the work done by the end of the year even though they were booked. When the workers arrived, they were courteous and careful, they kept the house clean, they answered my questions, and they did the work professionally. They didn't waste any time and they came when they said they were going to come. I was very satisfied with their work.
Description of Work: Rockweiler Insulation increased the insulation level in my attic and installed something to keep the soffit vents open. I also had them seal lighting fixtures and vents to prevent heat loss and seal the entrance to the attic.

We got bids from three insulation contractors. Rockweiler's estimator seemed to be the most knowledgable and thorough as was their bid. I was very happy with their workers and with the job they did.
Description of Work: In preparing a home with a low sloping roof for sale, we discovered that raccoon s had gotten into the crawl space and fouled the old fiberglass insulation extensively. Getting all of that old insulation removed and then having new insulation installed on a fairly short time line was essential.

I found them from a word of mouth from a friend. They were very friendly and very professional. The job overall went very well. I was very pleased with their work. They were on time and also finished the job on time as they had told me earlier. Their clean up was very good. When they left they had fixed one of the roofs upside down and I called them right a way and they came in and fixed it for me. I would rate them high overall. Their price was good. I would use them again in the future.

They did a good job. We had an energy audit done and they came back after that was done. The difference was remarkable.
Description of Work: We used Rockweiler Insulation to do insulation in the attic after we had an air conditioner installed. They had to also seal up the walls because as it turned out our walls were open at the top and heat was going right out the attic. They also put in vents all around the house so the air can get through the soffits.

They sealed all the ways that air could leak out of the house into the attic. They restored the vent channels that let air from the eaves go up to the ridge vent without getting blocked by the insulation. They used foam to air seal the basement box fill. The folks they sent here were the estimator, two persons who did the attic and another single crew man who did the basement. They were all very competent, conscientious and thorough. We had a misunderstanding on the price, but where we were clear about the price, I felt it was just fine. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

After waiting nearly a week for a return phone call (it was the busy season), the rest of our experience with Rockweiler was terrific. The gentleman that completed the initial inspection was very thorough, explained exactly what they would be doing, and the estimate was on par with another company we spoke to. In fact, he even made a second visit after we asked about the crawlspace under our kitchen. The crew that did the work was punctual, professional, and finished on time and on budget. Would definitely recommend, and use again.

They were very thorough in explaining, in writing, what we would need to do to prepare the space, what they would be doing, and when they would arrive. They were done on time, and we're very flexible and responsive when we ran into the kind of surprises one gets when working on an 80 year old house. Always called us back right away, and very professional.

Back in 1939 when our home was built, quality insulation was not a high priority. After dealing with ice dams for one winter too many, I brought in an energy consultant to help prioritize and determine the most effective steps to insulate our home. After her report was received, it was time to choose an insulator to help execute it. It was clear from the very beginning that my estimator, Ben, knew construction and building science, and could see the construction challenges that the multiple additions to our home presented. Compared to the other bid I received, I felt I was receiving a higher level of expertise from Rockwiler. When I had questions or needed clarifications on the bid before approval, my emails were answered efficiently and clearly. As our home is a cape cod style, accessing parts of the roofline required cutting some new access panels in hidden places. When a question came up about where to best cut a panel (the cutting is done by a 3rd party contractor), I was able to call Rockweiler, and an estimator was at my house in 30 minutes to consult. The final job consisted of -first coordinating with my roofer, to sprayfoam the ceiling of a flat-roofed bathroom addition, after the roofer removed the existing roof then: -removing batt insulation from the 2 side attics of our front addition, cutting the edge of the subfloor open at the edges to access the top of the walls, and re-insulating with sprayfoam -densepacking the slanted walls (back of roof) in the front addition and original house roof -sealing the attic around the chimney -adding insulation to the back addition attic -covering our dirt crawlspace with plastic sheeting, sprayfoaming it to the walls, and sprayfoam insulating all crawlspace walls and sill plates What was done right during the work: -not terribly messy for the job being done -polite and professional work crew -willing to explain what was being done, answer my questions, and keep me updated -willing to make small deviations from the quote- such as adding sprayfoam in a small area that wasn't originally discussed -when we found that densepack had escaped from a roofline into the garage while being blown in, they didn't hesitate to go add a line of sprayfoam at that joint. My biggest criticism is that accessing an attic space required taking all the shelves out of a closet. When they were done with their work on Friday, they left w/o reassembling the shelves, so I had to do it. I mentioned this on the feedback form, and an estimator called me, apologized, and said they'd talk to the crew to make sure that restoring the customer's house to order takes priority. They were also very professional when I pointed out some minor drywall damage- they sent someone over to address it, no questions asked. I'm looking forward to seeing how my house holds up to winter this year, but I'm sure it will be much more pleasant after Rockweiler's work. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

All went well, except there is one spot on the roof where heat is still melting snow. I sent them pictures and they said they would be out but have not come yet. I did tell them I was not concerned until next snow season and am confident they will come before then. I have to say they were so punctual they came a month sooner than expected. They told us 3/22 and came 2/22 which was fine with us.
Description of Work: Added insulation to attic. Put in more air ducts. We have a unique house that took quite a bit of extra work so don't be put off by the price. We were made aware it was going to be more than norma.

Excellent....Got an estimate. The guy was a little late, but extremely knowledgeable. Estimate was reasonable considering the insulation in this home hasn't been updated since 1958. After accepting the offer, I called to schedule a time. It took six weeks for them to install and they quoted me one and a half days, but I was surpised to see on the first day that they had a six man (double) crew complete this in one day. Worked quickly and cleaned up. My only disappointment is that they don't close spray foam large areas, but understand that some contractors don't do this because of the mess.
Description of Work: Closed cell spray foamed the basement sill boxes and air sealed all exterior spaces in attic. Increased batt insulation in two attics from R-20 to R-50. R-38 insulation over attic hatches.

It took time to get all the info together from the energy auditor (also highly recommended!!!) and also my bids from all 3 insulation contractors. Different stories from each one made me a bit nervous, because we were doing other things also to the house. since we were also dropping a ceiling in the 3 season porch to add insulation, Rockweiler's estimator came out several times and answered a number of phone call questions from me. Their honesty, experience, and conscientiousness was obvious with all my dealings with them. They said if I hadn't gotten onto their schedule when I did, they would have likely not been able to do my work until maybe February, so you need to get to them before it starts getting cold and get onto their schedule. They are well worth it. As was the whole effort to get the house tightened up and insulated.
Description of Work: Working with an energy auditor to ensure what my house's needs were, we identified it needed sill sealing, more insulation in the attic including soffits and sealing-sealing-sealing everywhere. Rockweiler was one of 4 bids I got. Their staff was so incredibly careful about what they thought was best and would give significant improvements, but also very creative as one whole long side of the sill was enclosed and we couldn't see if anything could be accessed to put in insulation. We used that hard shell foam on the sills and crawl space. We used added blown in cellulose for the attic and that hard to access space in basement. They took their time and were incredibly careful and conscientious. anyway, my utility bills are about half of what they have been in past years!!!!! Whoopee and hooray and super major thank you to just an excellent insulation firm that cares what and how they deliver service to their customer.

We were very pleased with the overall experience with this company right from their estimator to the 2 man crew that did the work . They fit us into their busy schedule before the end of the year . The crew worked very diligently and explained some of the extras that they were doing such as sealing air leaks around pipes, building insulated boxes and sealing the edges on the attic access panels,.etc and also finding and sealing 2 dropped ceilings over the bathrooms which were significant heat loss sources. They covered all the carpeting with plastic runners and cleaned up everything very well when they were done . We have noticed a definite improvement in the comfort level and the heat retention in our upstairs bedrooms and baths . Would definitely recommend them and hire them again . Very professional . The comments on Angie's List were very helpful in choosing them

The estimator, Pat, arrived as scheduled and was very professional. He checked all of the areas of concern noted on an energy audit performed by a third party and thoroughly explained what work they would do. He also answered all of my questions. I appreciated the fact that he brought his own ladder to go into my attic. An estimator from another company used one of mine, which I felt was inappropriate. I received my written estimate by mail within two days and accepted the proposal. About two weeks later, which I thought was a bit long, someone from the company contacted me to schedule an appointment. The crew showed up exactly as scheduled and cleaned up before they left. A second crew came the next day, again as scheduled, to complete the work and also cleaned up before they left. The work took a few hours longer than originally thought but given the difficulty in accessing parts of my attic this was understandable.
Description of Work: Attic sealing and additional fiberglass insulation blown into attic. Foam insulation/sealing applied to accessible sill boxes in basement.
