From the original request for an estimate to the service of installing, we were very pleased with Rockweiler. We received more than six quotes and went with Rockweiler because they were honest with us and didn't try to oversell us. We first reached out to them in 2016. They asked us if we were planning to have any work done inside the house, and when we shared that we would be redoing the kitchen, they told us that we would want to wait to get the insulation. None of the other folks told us that. Had they not shared that with us, all the work we would have done would have needed to be re-done after the kitchen work. Additionally, when we asked them their thoughts on removing old insulation before putting down the new, they were honest and said in most cases it just wasn't necessary. There were other companies that quoted us this service and it double the cost of insulation. The staff in the office were also always very helpful and provided us without resources and information we found to be helpful. Highly recommend Rockweiler!

Brian came by and listened to the issue I was having with the basement being too cold. The previous owner that finished the basement never sealed the box sills with spray foam. They quoted me for multiple options of them removing the drywall ceiling or me. I ended up doing the drywall removal myself. The day of the installation Roberto and Aaron arrived and covered everything to prevent dust and spray from accidentally getting on anything. They removed the old batt insulation and then did spray foam. Their customer service and quality was some of the best in the home repair industry I have experienced. The basement is noticeably warmer and the situation was taken care of. We had to be out of the house when they sprayed because of the potential fumes and had to wait about 2 hours after they left. There was no smell when we returned and I could not tell they were there. I would definitely use them again in the future for any insulation work I need. They even plugged old holes from electrical wires near return air ducts.

Went extremely well. Received detailed email several days prior to scheduled appt. that explained in detail the entire process...customer preparation before installation and what to expect during and post-installation. Crew of two was punctual and polite. Based on visual inspection, it appears they did an excellent and detailed job. I did the pre-installation prep work - i.e., removing old fiberglass insulation, vacuuming out box sill and providing clear pathway of approx. 3-4 ft around walls for crew to maneuver; doing the prep work saved me about $400.

Great experience both times. The professionals in the field were punctual, explained the process, answered questions and verified that the home would be empty and had enough ventilation to properly off gas before we came back. Their prices are fair and work is great!

It was fantastic! I have used Rockweiler in the past, and have been very pleased. This time I needed insulation work done in an older home. The crew reported for work in a timely manner, were friendly, and finished the job in one day. The most fantastic aspect of my experience was the 400.00 rebate they gave me. They had bid a 2100.00 dollar job and finished a few hours early. They actually gave me credit for work hours not used. I never would have known the difference, and would have happily paid the entire estimate. I give them so many kudos for honesty. I don't think very companies would have done this. Thanks, Rockweiler!

Everything was so easy from having Eric out to access our insulation needs, to the guys who installed the insulation, and finally with Chad and his crew from the Energy Efficiency Division of Rockweiler who came out to do our post-insulation efficiency testing. We also needed a ventilation fan installed in our second floor bathroom and they recommended someone (Thor from G & L Home Improvements) who could cut a hole in our attic and install the fan, as well as coordinate with the insulation guys to be here to cut a hole in the roof for attic access (needed to install insulation). I didn't really want to spend money on insulation but I wanted our home to be as comfortable and energy efficient as a 100-year-old house can possibly be, and I am so glad I hired Rockweiler to help us achieve our goals. After Chad came back to complete the final air sealing test (to see how drafty our house was compared to where we started initially i.e. before the insulation) I believe we improved by 2 percent better then the Focus on Energy required percentage for the rebate. We also had Scott from Quality Control at Focus on Energy (separate from Rockweiler, employed through the State of Wisconsin) come by to do a final assessment on the work Rockweiler did and he had nothing but complimentary things to say about the work Rockweiler did on our home. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking to insulate their home!
Description of Work: Rockweiler blew fiberglass in our open attic floor, installed cellulose in open kneel in our attic, insulated the kneel floor in our attic with 3" two-part foam, insulated the rim joist with 3" two-part foam, insulated the open kneewall with 4" two-part foam, blew fiberglass on our open attic floor, and also preformed the Focus on Energy final test.

Rockweiler were great to work with. We had ice damming and leaking in our sunroom addition. We worked through Tony Trapp Remodeling and they were nice enough to honor our Angie's List coupon for service, even though we were going through Tony. We had a Focus on Energy credit and an energy audit was performed pre- and post service. The insulation that Rockweiler put in increased our R factor from 9 in the worst area of our home to 75. They were responsive and courteous and I felt their price was very fair. I would highly recommend them and would use them again in the future with no reservations!

Rockweiler did a wonderful job insulating our garage. They responded promptly to our request for a project quote and were timely in sending the quote after having one of their employees come to our home. Once we scheduled our service, two very professional gentleman showed up on time the morning of the project and worked diligently all day until the garage was completely insulated. They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves as well.

We were happy for the most part with Rockweiler. They sealed off leaks, added blown in fiberglass insulation directly on the attic floor (boards removed by someone else) and provided a foam barrier sheet at the top of the attic stairs. It already seems to have made a major difference with summer heat. The team that came out was professional and efficient and got the job done in just a couple of hours. Response time on various issues could have been better.

The service provided when the team came out to insulate our home was excellent. They were very professional and did a nice job. Working with the sales rep. was awful. After promising (in writing) that it would be done on a certain date, we were later told that it could no longer happen. When I stated that it was unacceptable, he said he would get back to me. After two weeks of not hearing anything, I emailed. No response. Two days later, I phoned. No response. I finally talked to the manager of Rockweiler who said that he could make it happen by the date promised. Only after getting off the phone with the manager, did I receive a phone call back from our sales rep. (about 5 minutes later) After the project was completed, I thought everything was finished. It wasn't! Almost four months later (Dec. 29th), we received a phone call from that sales rep. stating that because we had gone through the Energy Audit and had a Focus on Energy credit applied to our bill, that we had safety concerns with our water heater and would need to get it replaced or pay Rockweiler what Focus on Energy would have paid. While our energy auditor did not seem to think it a safety concern, he did. So, four months later, he got around to looking at the paperwork and told us that we needed to get our water heater fixed/replaced within a month or pay $1300 to them (the cost that Focus On Energy would have paid). After talking to Focus on Energy and asking if this should have been addressed in August when our insulation was completed, he all but confirmed that it should have been. Everything with Rockweiler was great except the person we have to deal with on a regular basis.
Description of Work: We had Rockweiler insulate the box sills in our basement, add spary foam sealing and insulation in the attic to an R60 level, and used dense pack cellulose insulation on our overhangs.

(The cost of service above reflects a $300 Focus on Energy credit and the '5% up to $300' Angie's List discount, but not the anticipated Federal tax credit.) Best I can tell, the two-man Rockweiler crew did a fine job. One of the gentlemen noticed that there was warm air coming up to the attic from the house's walls through the gaps along the gables. He used some of the attic's old fiberglass to seal the gaps up, even though that was not part of our contract. Also, the sloped ceilings apparently required twice the amount of packing material than anticipated, but they did not try to charge extra for it. There is one small thing. The ceilings along the sides of the second floor of our house have a small slope to accommodate the roof. The plaster along the slopes has hairline cracks in some places. The Rockweiler sales rep had said that they would have to be careful about the apparently weak plaster when they packed that angled area between the ceiling and the roof. Well, in one spot, over the stairs, a crack did give way a little bit from the pressure above. The plaster on one side of the crack is now visibly pushed out a little. But though he was very nice about it, and had some helpful advice, the sales rep did not think it was Rockweiler's responsibility. I did not press the point, because I could see how that might be the case. The crack was pre-existing. The rep did say that, in the future, he would have a conversation about such risks, etc. with customers, which I think is a good thing. We're going to have to hire a professional to mend the crack, because I do not have a ladder to get to it.

It was initially difficult to get a date set with the contractor, and we had to email and call a few times to get a date set. After that, it was pretty easy. The contractors came by on time and we discussed how to lock up the house when they were done. I left for work and returned around lunch time to check on the status of the installation. They already completed and locked up as asked. I checked the insulation, and it appears to have been done properly. The house has a more consistent temperature, so the additional insulation has certainly helped. There are still a few issues, like moisture on the windows, but I think it's a more complex problem than just attic insulation. Overall, we eventually got the work done to what I can tell is a good job. However, the responsiveness was a bit lacking, and the professionalism of the people we talked to over the phone was a bit lacking, too. I think the price is the middle of the road, so I also put that at and quot;goodand quot;. Despite these minor shortcomings, I would definitely use the contractor again, and I'm considering asking them for help on an overall energy audit of the house.
Description of Work: We needed more attic insulation, and they re-adjusted the current insulation, installed air vent protectors, and blew in new insulation.
