Price was comparable to other quotes we got. They were able to come out fairly quickly and do the work. They were very professional.

It smelled like something had died in the basement. Fortunately it was before the heating season. We couldn't find the source of the odor and assumed correctly it was the furnace. The worker arrived promptly and removed the animal without a fuss.

Punctual and polite tech, did the work in a professional manner, The cost was exactly as estimated, no problems. Would hire this company again.

It started with ignition problems with my old furnace (the thermostat would kick in, but the furnace would not ignite). The problem was sporadic and unpredictable. Bethke staff visited my house twice early in the week in an attempt to discover the problem and make repairs, but on Wednesday my 22 year old furnace died. Of course, this happened at 5:00 pm and I was afraid that their office would be closed. I caught Jeff as he was walking out the door. He came bearing space heaters and spent an hour with me discussing my options. Since I used most of the federal stimulus rebate on insulation in 2009, I decided on a less efficient model (91% instead of 95%) that was more in my price range. Jeff did not try to pressure me into buying the more expensive model and even made my decision easier by sharing the cheaper model's record for reliability and longevity. In the end, he deducted the price of the service calls from earlier in the week ($140) and an additional $100 for a "coupon" special from Bethke. I added a humidifier ($300) and a new digital thermostat ($100), which brought my total bill to $2860. Three service men came at 8:00 am the next morning and were finished with the install by 2:00 pm. They included a free inspection of my central air unit and reported that the coil looked fine and would not need replacing. They also provided a free estimate for duct cleaning (9 vents, ~$200), which I will probably have them do soon. Overall, I was extremely pleased with their courteous staff, professional behavior, and prompt service. I will (and have) recommended them to all my friends.

It was a very positive experience. I haven't had any problems with the units since they have installed them. The work was done quickly and very professionally. They are a good outfit. I have used them for other work like furnace tune-ups and things.

The guy that came out was efficient but I didn't like their fee structure. The price was very high for the diagnosis which took hardly ten minutes and it included the labor charges.

Great. Was glad they would do both the furnance and air conditioning during the same visit.

Once in the winter the igniter for the furnce failed, they responded within 1 hour and had parts on the truck to fix a 10 year old furnace. Other times they scheduled seasonal inspections and cleanings for furnace and AC. Also had a motor replaced on the April Air.

Tim spent several hours with us preparing a heating/cooling budget and a quote; he determined that the old furnace and A/C were undersized and oversized (respectively). Tim went out of his way to fully explain the bells and whistles on the models Bethke offers. The installers were prompt and courteous. They had the old units out within about 20 minutes of arrival. They took the time to scan through the manual for our existing programmable thermostat and wire it up to the new units, rather than insisting on installing their own brand.

They did a wonderful job and worked really hard. The technician were reluctant to do a service, but the owner came out and was able to solve the problem to continue with the service.

The sales person was friendly and helpful. The installation team seemed to do a great job. Everything is running well.

My first appointment with them was scheduled and then they called back to reschedule with me because of a scheduling conflict. The technician who came for the first appointment determined that the current vent had water in it and could not be cleaned, and that another service call needed to be arranged. I received a phone call shortly after that to arrange the second appointment. The second appointment was the actual installation of the new dryer vent. There was about a week between the first and second visit.

It went fine. The only negative was that they said they would arrive between 9 and 12 in the morning. They arrived about 12:15 and made no phone call to tell me they would be late. It is frustrating when you wait all morning and you're the last on the list. He half heartedly apologized, but the service was done in short order. The price has steadily gone up and I haven't checked to see if this is a normal price compared to other companies.

After 22 years and 4 very large dogs, we started to notice "dog smell" even after full house cleaning. Called Bethke to clean duct work. They showed up on time and the service technician was very professional. This seemed to be a difficult job because we are on two levels and the ducts hadn't been cleaned in such a long time. The duct work in the basement goes in all kinds of directions (I guess home designs are a little more streamlined today) so it was a matter of fishing tubing in and out of the system to make sure the entire house was cleaned. Where he couldn't get access directly from the room vent/air exchange, he cut into the duct from the basement area. The tech took off his shoes each time he entered the home (and he ran in and out all morning). Job took 4.5 hours and he didn't take a break...hard worker. I'm very pleased with the results and Bethke is a great locally owned company.

Lost heat during a cold January night (-10F). Determined that the combustion igniter did not seem to be activating as normal, while all other aspects seemed to be functioning. Contacted Bethke during normal business hours. Scheduler was very courteous, detailed expected costs and indicated they could have a technician come by within the next 3 hours. Approximately an hour later, a service technician was at my door. He quickly and efficiently performed diagnostic and repair work on the natural gas hot surface igniter and the other elements of the sealed combustion chamber. Service call was completed within 30 minutes. Cost was as detailed for the parts & diagnostic service. This was our first contact with Bethke, and we would recommend them based on this experience. Prior homeowner had used another area service which has received some poorer reports here on Angie's List.

I was satisfied with the work in knowing that my system is in running order. They seemed to know a lot about the make and model of furnace we have. The work was done quickly and was very affordable. I thought they were nice guys who I would call again.

Were prompt and informative in providing estimate. Work was performed on time and on budget. An excellent job overall.
