Absolutely phenomenal. The floor looks better than I imagined. The finish is beautiful, repairs blend seamlessly into the original floor and door thresholds Tim installed are the perfect height and stain. I am already recommending Tim to friends and co-workers. Worth the wait. We intend to have him back to do the rest of the house.

AWESOME!! We had to wait a few months as he is in high demand - but worth the wait. He came exactly the day he said he would and he did excellent work. His rates were far below quotes we got from the store where we purchased the wood and I am sure the quality far superior. Could not have been happier! Tim did all of the detail work himself and he is a perfectionist in what he did. Best contractor I have ever used!

Tim's a busy guy and we had to wait a little for his services but it was worth it. The floor was installed quickly and finished beautifully. He even grouted around the fireplace and cut and tacked the carpet by the stairs. He explained everything he was doing and why. The few minor flaws that we did find were fixed immediately. He explained how to care for our floors and gave us tips on how to move our piano and other furniture back in without marring our new floors. Our new floor is gorgeous and I plan on using Tim again when we do the upstairs.

Everything went well. The results were beyond what we had hoped or expected. They turned out truly beautiful! I would definitely use him again and would recommend him to anyone. He knows his trade very well.

Tim and his crew sanded, repaired and applied several coats of finish to our floors. They were here for all or parts of 5 consecutive days. Wonderful to work with. Explained what was to be done and answered any questions we had. It is very apparent that Tim loves what he does. The results were beyond what we expected.

Tim was on time, he gave a great quote. He knows what he is doing. My floors were really old and needed a great deal to come out looking right. Tim took three days to make this happen. They look fantastic! Tim is a very professional guy.

He answered all my questions and I had a detailed estimate in one or two days. His price was very reasonable and I did not even bother getting another estimate. I called Tim to get an idea of what it would cost to refinish the staircase in our 1920?s home. He responded promptly, and soon afterward came out to look at the job and provide an estimate. One of my big concerns was how to handle the color: the downstairs hallway is light oak, the upstairs hall is refinished yellow pine, the stair treads are maple, the risers are yellow pine, and the window trim and stringers in the stairwell are yellow pine with the original stain/finish. I wasn?t sure we could refinish the stairs without having it look like a carnival of colors and woods. Tim took the time to discuss it with me and to offer suggestions for possible ways to handle the different colors. He explained what he was doing every step of the way. We had several discussions about color during the time he applied the coats of stain and finish. He also found a piece of quarter-round oak that would work at the base of the steps, and another piece of trim for the base of the second run of steps. He planned to be here for three days. He and his assistant were here for those days, and then one or both of them came back on three or four additional days in between other jobs, partly because the job was a bit bigger than expected and partly because I asked them to scuff/stain & finish additional trim in the stairwell. I expected to pay more since I asked for additional work, but he did not charge me for the additional time and work. In the end, he was right: the stairwell looks terrific and the colors blend very well. Honestly, I didn?t think it could be done, but if we had carpeted the stairs instead, we would have had to carpet the 10 ft x 10 ft landing and one of the bedrooms upstairs that my husband spent many hours refinishing. I originally asked for estimates on the work primarily to keep my husband happy, but now we have great looking stairs in addition to the refinished floors for less than it would have cost to carpet all of them. Tim delivered what he said he could, at a very reasonable cost given the amount of work and hand sanding that was necessary. He took the extra time to make sure that I was happy and that the job was done very well. Trust what he tells you about color?it turned out exactly as he said it would!

We had a very noticeable bleached stain in the middle of our dining room hardwood floor for 3 years. We tried several methods on our own to fix it, to no avail. Last year, we contacted a hardwood floor repair shop and were told that there was no way to fix the stain because it would be nearly impossible to match the finish without knowing exactly what shade had originally been used. After calling another company (who inspected the stain in person), I received an estimate for $2,000, and was told that there was no way to fix the stain without sanding and refinishing the entire 600 sq floor floor (again, this was reportedly because the original finish type was unknown, and even if the finish could be matched by visual inspection, it would never be exact, and the spot would always be noticeable). Convinced that there had to be some way to fix the stain, we found Tim Winsall on Angie's List, and explained the situation. He immediately came up with a creative solution, and was able to selectively sand and refinish the portion of the floor that was stained. I cannot recommend Tim highly enough for his expertise and UNIQUELY creative problem solving. He's a superior craftsman and a creative thinker who takes great pride in his work. Because of his attention to detail, expertise, and integrity, we will be hiring him to refinish our other floor.

The provider did everything he said he would do. Very professional and knowledgeable about hard wood flooring. Would recommend to anyone .

Tim and Eric were very punctual and professional. There were no surprises, everything went well.

Tim is a great guy to work with and extremely meticulous about his work. We have an old, old farmhouse. We were rehabbing the kitchen and wanted to preserve the original maple floor which was in HORRIBLE shape - water stains, huge gouge marks, cracked and rotting boards, etc - but we thought there might be enough beauty still underlying all of that to be worth refinishing. The result is much better than we imagined. Looks (almost) like a new floor. Tim took all the time he needed to make sure it was perfect. He sanded new boards to have them exactly match the old ones, put in a small addition to extend the floor into an alcove making it look just like the original flooring, came to the house on several occasions to put finishing touches on the stain. He was very professional. We would definitely recommend him. In fact, we'll be hiring him again when we are ready to move on to the maple flooring in the rest of the house.

We could not have been more pleased with Tim Winsall Flooring, and I could not recommend this company highly enough. I made several calls to "A-listers" on Angie's List to obtain price quotes. A couple of companies were less expensive, but after speaking to Tim, I was convinced. Tim spent time explaining the process, and I could tell after speaking to him that he is an expert at his craft, takes great pride in his work, and put our needs as clients as his first priority. In addition, his quote included more coats of finish than any other contractor I spoke with. Tim and his partner Eric were incredibly professional and trustworthy. They are great people, plain and simple. When you have people working in your home for a week straight, this is very important...and since it is a small, owner-operated company, we knew exactly who was going to be working in our home. They put our needs first every step of the way, and were very accommodating. It's evident that they care about their clients. Tim and Eric are meticulous craftsmen, and it shows. The work they did exceeded our expectations. Our floors have never looked this good, even when they were newly installed 8 years ago. Going into this project we were expecting to get a clean, new finish on our floors...but what we really ended up with was a completely different and beautiful floor...full of character that it never had before. It honestly looks like we had new wood flooring installed! In addition, we were very impressed with the projected durability and longevity of this finish. We are so happy with our floors. We cannot recommend Tim Winsall Flooring highly enough!

They did an outstanding job in finishing my family room with red oak that matches the overall scheme of the house and added trim around the fireplace that framed it nicely as a centerpiece. The blood wood that went into the upstairs office is the best hardwood floor I have ever seen. Pictures cannot capture the beauty in this flooring. It's interesting to note when they were installing it and cutting it, a taste of spice went into the air. I know this was is exotic. I am very much impressed with the results of my floors. Awesome job.

The area that was refinished was about 370 square feet. the entire project start to the final finish took 3 days. After they were all sanded Tim offered to also replace some old sections that had only plywood near our heat registers (old radiator locations is my guess). Tim and his crew were friendly, honest, and helpful with instructions on how to care for the floors. The only regret I have is that I forgot to take a "before" picture! I had to dig up some old family photos for that. I do have pictures of each step of the process, and what a difference. We are very happy with the service and quality and are already recommending Tim Winsall to others.

He did an excellent job. We are planning another 2 floors being done by him in mid July. I know those floors will look great just as the ones he did for me already.

I can't say enough about Tim and his crew. They are professional, trustworthy, and perfectionists! This was a very large project and I needed someone I could trust. I had 2 other estimates and Tim was by far the most dependable, trustworthy, and passionate about his work. I was not living in the house at the time and was only able to check up on the work once a week since I was out of town. Tim gave me updates and sent me photos of his progress. They did an amazing job. I would hire him again in an instant!

He does not sub-contract nor supervise over other workers. Tim was able to capture what we imagined my over 100 yr old floor to be. He is an extremely hard worker, conscientious of returning phone calls and explains every step along the way. I love his work and love the way the floors turned out.

Tim and his partner are consummate professionals. From our request for an initial bid through scheduling our installation and post-installation follow up, Tim was consistent, responsive, honest, and direct. He kept us informed at all stages of the process and was easy to reach with questions or responses. He and his partner did a real quality job, and we felt they went above and beyond with some additional baseboard work. We plan to call Tim Winsall the next time we need hardwood floor refinishing or installation work done - we strongly recommend him!!

My impression of him was that he was clearly going to do a better quality work. He’s putting two more coats than everybody else. Yes, he was more expensive but he came in and said right out of the shute that he’s not going to be the cheapest guy, but I would definitely get a great value. I’m a pretty cheap guy and I am guilty of going too much just on price and he sold his quality to me. I will know later when I actually get it done. I’m in the process of purchasing a property right now. He will be the last contractor to come and do the work just because I want the flooring done last. My impression is that he’s kind of a long haired guy. If I looked strictly at his appearance, I wouldn’t know why I would go with him. He takes serious pride in his work and that is the impression I got. What sold me to was with wood floors I always worry about a larger dog and he has two German Shepherds himself. It’s not like me to pay $900 more than the next contractor but I believe that he is going to deliver on quality. He was definitely on time.

We are very impressed and pleased with the work completed by Tim Winsall Flooring. When researching flooring companies, several had negative reviews pertaining to the quality of the work completed. Tim Winsall Flooring did not have any negative reviews pertaining to the quality of their work. Some indicated Tim's prices were high, but we found them to be in line with another large company, and quite frankly, we were willing to pay for quality work as experience has taught us you get what you pay for. I requested the work be done over the week of July 4th, which was three weeks after we received the quote, and Tim was more than willing to work with our schedule. Once the floors were sanded, Tim showed us several examples of different stains on our floors. He recommended we keep the floors natural to highlight the beautiful grain in our floors. We are so happy we followed his recommendation. The floor is stunning. The area of damaged floor that was replaced blends flawlessly. Tim also made transition pieces to match the hardwood floors where the hardwood floors transition to tile. We have a very active toddler. The emulsion and street shoe top finishes provide protection without looking too glossy - spills clean up easily without any damage to the wood. Tim and his crew were punctual, knowledgeable, and respectful. Tim was very easy to get a hold of and communicated with us during every step of the process. They did a great job cleaning up after the work was completed. We will use and recommend Tim Winsall Flooring in the future.
