Tim Winsall Flooring

We hired Tim to refinish over 1,000 square feet of our hickory hardwood floors. One room had been installed improperly years ago and the boards were cupped. Another room the floorboards were beveled - they were added years ago to replace carpeting. Tim did an outstanding job to make the entire 1st floor completely cohesive. I don’t think we’ve ever met a contractor that was so particular and cared so much about the quality of his work. With no hesitation, we highly recommend Tim Winsall. You will not be disappointed !!!

Tim is great. Professional, friendly, flexible about timing, and most importantly did a great job. Plan on having him back for future works and would highly recommend. Work was more manual that typical for floor refinishing. Not only was this not a problem, he came back to do a small piece of needed follow-up work.

Tim was recommended to me very highly by someone who knows flooring quite well. He responded to my phone call quickly when I first requested him to sand and refinish my family room floor. It was a few months wait because he is just so busy, but well worth the wait. I am beyond pleased with the way the project turned out and would hire him again in a minute.

He recommended a local company to move appliances out and back and how best to protect the floor. The refinished floor looks great. We had bought 110 year old home last year that had original hardwood floors. The floors were in bad shape, and there were a couple places that needed larger repairs. We had a couple companies give us quotes, and they told us that there was no way to stain maple a darker color, and they would do the best they could to fix the damaged floors. My mom had used Tim in the past, and said that is the only person she would trust to touch original hardwood floors. Tim came out, and was very informative. He told us things about hardwood that we didn't even know! He also was very confident he could get the maple floors dark, and even showed us pictures of another clients floors that were also maple that he had darkened. We were very excited, and hired Time for our floors. Tim is highly sought, so he is always out a few months, but after our floors were done it was 100% worth the wait!! Tim and his assistant Trevor arrived on time daily, and explained what they would be doing and what to expect when we got home each night. There was never a night we couldn't walk on the floors, which was great because we didnt' have to stay with a friend, or in a hotel during the process! Tim also doesn't use the harsh chemicals so there was no horrible smells, and dust was very minimal! When we bought the house, we originally ripped out the carpet, and we took off the quarter round which was in terrible condition. Tim went a step beyond and was nice enough to stain new quarter round and installed it for us! We were more than satisfied from beginning to end of the job! After this experience, I could never recommend anyone but Tim for a flooring job! He is coming back in November to do our stairs and upper hallway. Tim is a master of his craft, and the way I will explain hiring him is this: If you needed a surgery, you wouldn't hire any doctor, you would hire a specialist, with excellent references. Same goes for your flooring. If you want someone that has the knowledge and the know how to make 110 year old floors look brand new again, and do all that while still charging a fair price, then call Tim! 5*****

Such friendly and trustworthy guys to have in your home!! They did an excellent job on my wood floors and put a lot of care and attention into their work. I had two bedrooms, living room, dining room and hallway sanded, stained and sealed. The work was finished on time and they did a great job of cleaning up afterwards.

I had read great reviews about Tim on a few different sites, so I was willing to wait for him and am so glad I did. We were thrilled with his work! He refinished the very neglected hardwood floors in our newly purchased home and now they look brand new! He also installed new hardwood flooring in our dining room and it blends beautifully. Tim went above and beyond what we asked him to do. He noticed and fixed original problems with the floor that I hadn't even noticed and was so patient while I deliberated about stain colors. I wanted them to be cooler toned and not too dark and he got the stain just what I was hoping for. His prices are so reasonable, especially for the quality you are getting. We could tell he's a perfectionist and were impressed with the fact that he puts down four coats of finish, when most put down two. The floors are just beautiful and seem very durable. Tim was great with keeping in touch and explaining the process too. He has a fun personality and I see why another reviewer mentioned they missed them after they were done. He and his subcontractor, Trevor, are so hard working, meticulous and were a pleasure to have around. Would definitely hire him again!

I am so impressed with Tim's service and workmanship. He communicated in a timely way from my first request for a quote and throughout the work process. I chose Tim because his process includes four coats of finish on newly sanded floors and two coats when buffing and refinishing floors. He is a perfectionist and never short circuited the process to stay on schedule, but rather did whatever ti took for a quality result. I would not consider another company after this experience.

This was our third project with Tim and he continues to be excellent. He even suggested a lower cost option when he arrived and saw the floor’s condition but we proceeded with the full sanding and refinishing. His dust mitigation is excellent and he communicated timeline and arrival times well in advance. Our original hardwood floors look brand new. Tim is an artisan. You will be thrilled with his work.

Tim Winsall is terrific. This was the second project I hired him for and he continues to be an excellent communicator and craftsman. The original late 1960's floor looks beautiful, dust mitigation was great and Tim and his team are pleasure to have in the house. I can't recommend him enough.

Tim and his co-worker made my wood new again. He did a great job and is easy to work with. His prices are reasonable. And he helped us fix a wood pocket door that had come off it's rail. I could not have been more pleased to have each of these areas improved. I would definitely recommend him to others and hire him again.

When your daughter says to you I ”finally like our house” because of a floor being refinished and absolutely beautified, you know you made the right choice in a service provider. They went out of there way to fix problems with the floor I didn’t even know I had. Trustworthy and prompt. Also able to deal with my dogs. Everything turned out amazing!! They really know their product. They knew what kind of wood my floors were. They told me everything I would need to know to take care of them. I would definitely have them work on my floor again!!

I was recommended Tim Winsall from a friend who said, Tim is busy, but he is good, worth the wait! And he is!!! I did have to wait, a couple of weeks but that’s fine!!! I’d do it again!! Tim was honest with his project start time, and told us how much time it would take. Our house had an addition put on in the 70’s..., it had carpet and we wanted it to look like the original 1923 part of the house! Tim and crew did a fantastic job! They felt like family here with us! I honestly missed them after they left! The were tidy, professional, courteous, kind, and fun! They were kind to my kids and my dog! Tim is meticulous and wants the job done perfect! I love how everything turned out, no regrets!!

This is the second room (a large one) Tim and Trevor have floored for me. They are always fast, once work has begun, punctual, polite, informative, and highly competent. I recommend them without reservation. One may have to wait several months for them to begin the project because they are in high demand, but if you hire them you will see why.

We were very pleased with Tim and his guys. They worked until the job was done. They were professional and left the job site very tidy and clean each day. He and his subcontractor were attentive to dust mitigation and there was virtually no clean up for us to do after they finished their work. Tim gave us several stain options to choose from along with his expert opinion about which would look best with our existing wood trim. We had no idea the original 1960s hardwood under our carpet could look as good as it does now. We couldn't be happier with the work he did.

TIM LOVES WOOD. I mean he really, really knows wood, cares about it and knows how to make it look its very best. He came later in the day to give me an estimate and after introducing ourselves I told him the floor on which we were standing was part of what would be done. He immediately went to his knees, inspecting the floor and started telling me what kind of wood it is, how it looked then, how it could look and then moved through the rest of the area I wanted done with such enthusiasm, I knew I'd found my "wood guy". I'd mentioned to him that my husband is somewhat disabled so we would have difficulty moving the furniture, he told me not to worry, he and his crew would handle it. And they did! They removed the carpet from the living and dining rooms and removed all the registers, doors, and miscellaneous that I didn't know had to be removed before they could start. The floors were stripped and repaired. Tim then showed me several stain options and how they looked in different light and from different angles. I made my selection and Tim worked his magic! He kept in contact with me by text throughout the process, I always knew what was going on. The floors are beautiful. Tim and his guys come over on a Sunday morning to put the doors and registers and such back together and they moved several pieces of furniture for me so that I wouldn't have to drag it on my new floor. I am happy as a cat scratching sand with every aspect of this project! The job was done on time, to my liking and he went above and beyond what he had to do; he even fixed the light on my ceiling fan! Be aware, having your floors refinished creates dust, lots of dust. Tim and his crew did an excellent job of cleaning up after the work was finished, but you will have some dust to clean up after the work is over. It just comes with the territory.

Tim was great! Work was done exactly on schedule. Our floors were 17 years old and looked it. They look better than brand new now. Tim went the extra mile and refinished a threshold that looked bad and now looks great and replaced trim boards that were bad. I thought we would have a lot of clean up with all of the dust that refinishing creates, but there was virtually no clean up for us when he was done, he did it all. I highly recommend him and will definitely use him again for any flooring and refinishing needs.

Tim installed hardwood flooring in several rooms of my house and refinished several steps. They were prompt, efficient, worked hard and the price was very reasonable for the work they did. The best thing I can say is that he truly cares about his work. He did not cut corners and took the time to make sure everything was done right. For anyone that has hired contractors, you know and it becomes obvious with their work if they care about what they are doing. I would not hesitate to recommend Tim to anyone that needs flooring work done and I will be seeing if he can do some more work on other hardwood flooring that we have in our house.

Tim and team showed up ready to reseal/coat our wood floors. Upon walk through it was discovered an area would need to be sanded and refinished. Rather than refinish the entire floor as the rest was in good shape Tim “split” the floor and refinished only the necessary portion before buffing and resealing to saving us a lot of money. The stain was matched perfectly and no one can tell that only a portion was refinished completely. Our floors are beautiful! Grateful to Tim for his honesty and always doing a fabulous job. Have referred him multiple times and will continue to do so.

Excellent! Tim and Trevor transformed our old oak floors and they are beautiful. They had to replace 37 boards, and you would never know it because they blend in perfectly. Tim takes a lot of pride in his work -- and it shows. We are extremely pleased and are happy to recommend him to others.
