Updated 08/14/2013: My response to the company's response... first and foremost (because it is essential that members see the sort of dishonest statements you've made). In your response you state "With that said we will work with the customer to come to an amicable solution." That's funny because when I spoke to your representatives about coming to such a solution I was told there would be no refund or movement on the revised bill, period, end of story. As of 08/14/2013 your company has made no attempt to correct this issue with us, nor attempted to contact us after we posted the review. NONE! Yet here you are in your response saying your willing to work with us. That is a blatant lie. The whole reason this negative review was posted was because your company REFUSED to work with us or budge on what you charged us (and we paid). Original Review Follows: When the mover's truck pulled up I was skeptical about whether our belongings would fit in the truck they came with. However the movers all seemed confident that they could fit everything in one trip. They were wrong. Not by a lot, but enough to necessitate a second trip. First the good, the individual movers were all very polite and professional. Nothing was broken or damaged. Still the $700 overage was a bit of a shock. I called the company the morning after the move to see if they would work with me on what they charged me. I explained that I could understand a bit of an overage given the unexpected situation, but the end bill being almost double the original estimate was unacceptable. They said they would send someone out to re-estimate the move. The move manager came out recorded our belongings, said he would redo the estimate and left saying he'd give us a call in a couple of days with the updated amount. That was two weeks ago. Finally I called 2 Men and A Truck back this morning to find out what had happened with the re-estimate. I was told the move manager was busy and he'd call me right back. After waiting several hours and still no call I called back a second time and finally got in touch with the move manager. Lo and behold he came up with almost the same estimate as what the end cost was. Strange how two people can put the same amount of "stuff" into the same estimating software and come up with two estimates which more than are $700 apart. Then I was given the standard line "I have been in this business X years and I know everything." The move manager went on to claim it was because we under-reported the number of pre-packed boxes. Really? The initial estimator never asked about the size of the boxes, only the number. Likewise, I didn't see the move manager counting boxes during his re-estimate visit. Maybe their estimating software is crappy, but as far as I'm concerned what this comes down to is a rather disturbing form of bait-and-switch. Apparently this company is comfortable with WAY underestimating the job, then when they've got you over a barrel, they pull the "well, this is going to cost you more than we said". What am I going to say? "No, you said $900, put everything back, I'm calling someone else?" The other part about this situation I found rather astonishing was their unwillingness to "make things right" by offering up any compensation or even acknowledging THEIR mistake. It's not like I was demanding they stick to the $900 estimate... they wouldn't even give back part of the overage. They also gave no thought to the possibility that because the move took a full 4 hours longer than expected it also caused our family a number of headaches. I can't say if any of the other franchises are any better, but steer clear of this one. If you must use Two Men and A Truck, you'd be better off using one of the other Milwaukee area franchises. Or at least plan on paying double what their estimate is. Additional Response to Provider's Response Once again your movers mad e no indication that there would be any difficulty in accomplishing the move in the estimated time or cost even when I asked them such (only to be proven right later). The boxes mentioned were already stacked and ready to dolly except for the few in the attic. As such, those stacks would have taken no longer to move than a single large box. What caused the added hours wasn't the box miscount and extra time moving boxes to and from the truck as you claim. The added hours were a direct result of the fact the truck you used was pathetically small and required two trips. Our home was a small 3 bedroom ~1000 sq ft 50's era ranch home and even without the box count you would have had to make two trips because the furniture from the main floor wouldn't fit in the truck. Regardless of whether the move took the right amount of time or not AFTER the fact, doesn't change the fact that your estimating process has very serious problems. If you're not willing to stand by your estimates, then you should do a better job of making that fact known up front and should not allow estimates to be done over the phone. How about you assume for a moment that not every family has moved 50 times and is thoroughly familiar with conditions which may affect the estimating process. Actually you now claim (after the fact) that you know all about these potential pitfalls, but yet when it came to my interaction with your company your company and its employees acted completely oblivious to them. Your CSR is not a robot or a computer. You and your employees are supposed to be the experts and are supposed to know to watch out for things just like the ones you mentioned that might blow an estimate. Your continued desire to blame the blown estimate entirely on me shows pretty clearly that your company views its customers with contempt and apathy. That is even further evidenced by the fact that you then have the nerve, THE NERVE, after refusing to work with us (which prompted me to write this review), to show up on Angie's List and claim, no, lie about being willing to work with us. I gave you the chance to work this out after the move and you told me to pound sand, you weren't budging.

These guys are amazing!!! We had a dual purpose: (1) to move large items to storage and (2) to move everything out of 4 rooms so the flooring guys could restore the area. They arrived at 6:15pm and although I was concerned we wouldn't have enought time, all of my goals were accomplished plus some before 9pm. I am 40 weeks pregnant and can no longer reach the floor. Aaron was a gem who went above and beyond to make sure I didn't experience any unnecessary stress and even went so far as to carefully pack up the closet in my nursery so the floor guys would have access. I am calling to see if Aaron can come back after the floor guys to put everything back - I am sold!!

I found them via word of mouth at work. They were quick and did what they said. They were very good, they weren't perfect but they were careful with the breakables. We started out having them just do some of the packing and mostly loading and unloading, but they ended up doing a great deal of the packing. They moved a 2 bedroom into a 3 bedroom. Their friendliness and customer service stood out to me. I would use them again. One of my coworkers used them before me and she wasn't quite as impressed. They were a little late but got us moved pretty well. I'd use them again in a heart beat.

Overall, they got most of our items moved, we did have some issues, normally if there are one or two problems I will let them go. But we had several. The 4 corner pins/bars for putting our dog kennel back together were lost. A chunk of wall in our old house was damaged The front door in old house got a dent in it (metal door) They did not take the weights from the weight bench as agreed too (it stated weight set in contract) they only took the bench They did not take a trail mower that I have, I needed that moved because it would not fit in my trailer, They did have room on the second truck to move it. I had to lift it onto my trailer with my son, and move it to the new house balanced on the back doing 30MPH the whole way. They had four men that could have picked it up and put it on the truck they brought (again this was in the contract to move) I gave each of the movers a tip, although I was at work all day I did not know what happened, otherwise they would not have gotten tips.

The experience was very good. They were very courteous, helpful and efficient. They did a very excellent job.

On time, professional, friendly. Only negative is they did not warn that it would cost an extra $50 to move my HDTV. I didn't find out until the day off so had to leave my tv behind. They did move a couch from upstairs to the downstairs for me.

They got my big 2010 washer down my old 1944 stairs. They had to turn it upside down and it was awful but they did it. They worked hard and they were amazing. This is the second time that I have used them.

They were just SO wonderful. The first company I called for estimate said it would be $1300 since I said I had some allergies. I called Two Men and Truck and the man that answered the call said he had an aunt who was allergic to lots of things and he would take good care of me. They shrink wrapper everything without me even needing to say anything. They worked so efficiently and the way that they packed things ended up leaving me with so much more room in my storage than i ever imagined. I thought initially that I was going to need to get another storage space but not after they did their work! They were so clean you would have never known they were in there. Especially for someone who is allergic to so many things, it was a true blessing for me. They were SO kind and professional. I didn't have to ask or tell them to do anything which just amazed me. Better than the best of all the rest!

We were very pleased. Their quote was about 60% of the two other firms we received bids from and they came in right on the quote. The other firms were going to pack one day and move the next, where 2M&T did both in one day (about ten hours). We didn't have any damage to report and the movers did a nice job relocating items into our new house (i.e. they put stuff in the right rooms). Pleasantly surprised!

Very well. The 2 men were very professional. We had all boxes packed and stacked in garage. Pieces of furniture were put on truck from all 3 floors of house. These guys knew what they were doing.

They were very, very nice. They were very kind, helpful, and professional. We are using them today just to move some furniture around in our house. We would use them again. They are just fantastic.

Movers arrived promptly and began work immediately. We had staged the items, ready to load, in the living room to minimize the time and cost. They worked quickly and carefully, both loading and unloading, were courteous and friendly.

Two men showed up at the scheduled time to get an estimate for moving. They were not very professional in that they suggested that we move most of the stuff ourselves. They then promised I would receive an estimate within 3 days. It has been 10 days and I have not heard from them.

Great guys! They did a great job; nothing was broken or damaged. It was so relaxing to not have to organize your friends to help you. Their rates were VERY reasonable. Good tip: Use them to move just your heavy items like appliances and furniture. It's worth it!

We had a lot of stuff to move and they worked quickly even though they were paid hourly. They were pretty careful with our larger pieces. They estimate that they gave me was not quite accurate. It actually took longer. They also start the clocking ticking from the moment they leave their offices.

Overall my experiences with Two men and a Truck have been positive. The workers were very careful when listening to our needs and took care of our belongings.

I WAS DISAPPOINTED, BECAUSE WE'VE HAD GOOD LUCK WITH THIS COMPANY IN THE PAST. THE MOVERS ARRIVED PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED TIME (AND BEFORE I WAS HOME FROM WORK). IT WAS A RAINY DAY, AND THEY DID NOT LAY ANY TARPS OR CLOTHS ON THE FLOOR. BECAUSE THEY MOVED THE BOXES BEFORE I GOT HOME, I DID NOT SEE MY BASEMENT UNTIL THE BOXES HAD BEEN MOVED. THE NEWLY-CLEANED CARPET WAS VERY DIRTY WHERE THE MOVES HAD WALKED.

EXCELLENT! THE ESTIMATOR WAS VERY HELPFUL AND PROFESSIONAL, ALTHOUGH WAY OVERESTIMATED THE AMOUNT OF TIME - HE SAID 8 HOURS AND IT ONLY TOOK 4. (MY GUESS IS THEY OVERESTIMATE TO BE CAREFUL SO IF IT DOES TAKE LONGER, CUSTOMERS DON'T CLAIM IT'S A SCAM.) THE PRICE IS ''ALL-IN'' $96.00/HOUR - INCLUDES FUEL, TRAVEL, INSURANCE, AND THE 2 MEN AND THE TRUCK. THE MOVERS, DONOVAN AND JOSH, WERE RIGHT ON TIME, VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL, CAREFUL WITH MY ANTIQUES, AND FAST! THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. ONE WOOD PIECE DID GET TWO VERY SMALL SCRATCHES AND TINY DENTS ALONG ONE EDGE. AND THEY SENT A PROFESSIONAL REFINISHER OUT TO THE HOUSE ON MY SCHEDULE (7:00 A.M.) AND HE CHEERFULLY MADE IT LIKE NEW AGAIN. CAN'T SAY ENOUGH HOW PLEASED I AM.

THEY WERE ON TIME. WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY. REPORTED WHAT MINOR DAMAGE THERE WAS IMMEDIATELY TO US.

I CANNOT BE MORE PLEASED WITH THIS MOVE. THE TWO MEN WERE COURTEOUS AND EFFICIENT AND TOOK TIME TO ASSURE MY ELDERLY MOTHER THAT ALL WOULD BE WELL. ON TOP OF THAT, THEY CAME UNDER THE ESTIMATE.

THEY WERE FANTASTIC! THEY WERE VERY CAREFUL AROUND NEWLY PAINTED WALLS. A COMPUTER DESK AND RECLINER COUCH HANDLE WERE BROKEN, BUT THEY COMPENSATED US FOR THE DAMAGES. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM.

ABSOLUTELY NO DAMAGE TO ANY ITEMS. THE MOVING STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND COURTEOUS. WORKED THE ENTIRE TIME (10-12 HOURS) WITH ONE 3/4 HOUR BREAK.
