Two Men And A Truck

2nd time using two men and a truck. They were careful with my belongings and completed the work an hour and a half faster than I was originally quoted for. They placed my items exactly were I labeled them to go.

The two young men who actually moved our property were very hardworking and personable. However, they were not particular careful. Walls were marred in both the property we were leaving as well as in our new place. An upholstered chair was torn. The glass shade on a floor lamp was shattered. Other minor damage to furniture pieces (scratches, scuffs, etc.) also occurred. The most significant damage was to the chair and floor lamp and these were the only two problems that I asked to be addressed by Michael Franzese at Two Men and a Truck. He offered to send a repair person out who glued the fabric torn on our chair, which unfortunately is still noticeable as the damage is near the front arm. He offered $60 (so I could shop) and sent me a link to Menards for a replacement shade for our floor lamp. We moved in July (it is now October) and have yet to receive the promised check even though we've followed up several times via email. The whole attitude displayed by this provider has been one of indifference and lack of respect for our property.

Transitioning my elderly mother to a new location in the state has been an arduous process, but I was quite pleased with Two Men and A Truck's role in this transition. Their estimate was lower, they said they could do the move in one day versus two for the other company, and they even gave me a senior discount without my having to ask. I was a bit skeptical if they could complete the move in the estimated time, but the movers showed up on time, hustled all day, and completed the job very close to the estimated time and cost. I will certainly use them in the future.

The pre-move support was very good; they were flexible when we had to change our moving time due to some changes to our closing time. The movers themselves were polite but not especially careful. When we finished unpacking we found that they had broken the wheel off a bed frame and had cracked the edge of a coffee table completely off. However, since (like most people) we didn't completely unpack all of our belongings in their 96 hour window, they will not compensate us at all for the damage. Now I am regretting the fact that I bought the movers lunch and tipped them... would have been better off saving that money to replace the furniture they broke :(

The move went very well - the movers were a little later than I expected in the morning (this was because they needed fuel, which they discounted from the time later) and they didn't read the notes to pull around the building as I had asked the office staff to pass along. They did a good job of sizing up the materials and wrapped most furniture very well (some pieces I had to request that they wrap up). They got most of it into the truck and it took about 3 hrs. They they went to lunch (with all of my possessions in the back) which I was NOT expecting - I guess I assumed they'd bring their own lunch instead of driving around a truck full of my stuff to the local Subway. All-in-all I bet they took 40 min for lunch, but only discounted 30 min (that's must be the best way to charge for it because they do it in 15 minute chunks - free 10 min for lunch, I guess). Unloading was done quickly and relatively well. They didn't ding any walls or anything like that - my only issue here was that, even though most items were labeled with where they should go, I would still find them putting items labeled "LR," for living room, in the garage, etc. Not a huge deal - but given how smart these guys seemed it was a little irksome. All-in-all: was quoted at 12 hours, it took maybe 8.5 or so. They were nice guys, relatively professional. Felt slightly cheated with their lunch break - but what can you do... they need to eat, right? No serious damage noted (although some plastic tubs were smashed from being set down too hard with heavy items on top.) Will probably use again. Things they can improve on: Office staff was kind of unhelpful the few times I spoke to them - there needs to be a list of things they WON'T move sent out (like no liquids, no unboxed lamps, no unboxed lampshades) as well as any extra charges (no one mentioned the $50 extra charge for TVs over 40" - I moved it myself later) and a well-defined lunch policy. I would also like to see some sort of uniform - even if it's just a sleeveless t-shirt that says "two men." Also white soled shoes should be a must.

Two men came to help us move, and it took all day. They brought their truck and the padding for the furniture, as well as seran wrap to wrap up the drawers so we didn't have to unpack any of them. They also unwrapped everything when we arrived. They showed up at around noon or 1:00pm and left at about 7:00 once the job was finished. They were very fast and very efficient, a couple of the pieces of the furniture did get marked up, they did wrap it up to try and avoid it as best as they could.

The move went very well. The 3 movers arrived on time and completed the double move in about 6 hours - 2 hours shorter than the estimated move time of 8 hours. They moved quickly, but were extremely careful not to damage the items being moved, the apartment or the house. I considered it to be a difficult move due to the amount of large/heavy items (home gym, treadmill, sectional, dining set, tools, etc.) that needed to be put in the basement. Their attitudes were excellent - each time I posed what I considered to be a tough task, they said no problem. This was my second move with Two men and a truck and I was very happy with both of them. If I move again, I will definitely call them.

It went excellent, they were fantastic! They handled the belongings carefully, and even suggested layout plans for the furniture.

We had moved many things on our own with a U-Haul trailer (kitchenware, bedding, lightweight boxes of stuff) but needed help with large pieces of furniture and heavy boxes of books. I'd used Two Men and a Truck many years earlier when moving in Madison, WI (approx. 2007). I remembered my good experience then, so I called them up for an estimate. The estimate process was easy and I received a very quick response. After doing more research and getting estimates from other companies in the area, I decided to go with Two Men and a Truck based on their reasonable quote and my familiarity with the company. They were prompt, efficient, and exceedingly nice. They even helped move some things around in the basement at the new house and helped move some things from the basement to the garage for pickup by a donation service. The protected all of the furniture as necessary. Everything arrived at the destination in perfect shape. Absolutely no complaints about my moving day.

Their structure is very confusing. The first agency provided a quote but when I needed to confirm that I wanted a cross town move, and was told to contact another agency. The person I spoke with was new and didn't seem to know their policies or pricing. I understand that but it made it confusing for me. The actual move isn't taking place until February, but I couldn't indicate that here.

I was extremely nervous about this move, as it was my first move not coordinated through my company. However, Two Men and a Truck completely exceeded my expectations. The two movers, Justin and Rich were fantastic! They were very professional. They were two of the fastest movers that I've ever worked with and this was the first move where nothing broke during the move. Also, the house that we moved into was a townhouse in downtown Chicago. I was impressed with how quickly they unloaded the truck even though we had three floors and how they did a walk through with us at the end to make sure that we had all the furniture on the right floor. I would highly recommend them!

I called the Pewaukee office to get an idea of what the cost of our move would be. I walked through each room of our house, describing the furnishings that would need to be moved. I was told that there would be additional charge for a medium--size safe to be moved which we felt was well worth the cost. The crew of 3 were on time the day of the move. They did a walk-through to understand what items were being moved. We did have boxes in the basement as well as some furniture (we did not move appliances). We had some large pieces of furniture (entertainment center and bedroom headboard) that we had disassembled. We did not empty the dressers or cabinets with clothing in them; the crew saran wrapped them so the doors/drawers did not open. I also had two antique pieces, one with fragile legs, and the crew dealt with these pieces with great care. I was very pleased with that. If any shelving was taken apart by the crew, all the hardware was handed to me for safe keeping. The estimate for job completion was 7 1/2 hours and they took less than 30 minutes more. They did have more stairs to maneuver in the new location as we had 3-levels. The crew handled the whole job in a very efficient and professional manner. We were very pleased with their performance.

Mike and Mike were great. They were very professional, efficient and careful. This included moving to a 3 story walk up in Chicago with lots of tight turns. We would highly recommend them!

The company was very responsive in providing a quote and returning all of my calls during the planning phases. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The packing process went smoothly and very well. The two men who did the work worked very hard and fast which was great to see given that I paid by the hour. They were very responsive and accommodating. On the day of the move. The two movers showed up with their truck. While I walked them through my house, they had disturbed looks on their faces. I asked them why. They said there was no way they could complete the job in the committed time (one day) with two guys and one truck. They immediately called for another two guys and truck. I'm VERY glad they did because it took a full day with four guys and they completely filled two trucks! The estimate they provided was based on one truck and two men. The rest of the process did not go very well: -They left behind a lot of "miscellaneous" stuff in the old house and completely skipped the items in one bathroom. I neglected to catch it before they left but would have expected them not to miss it in the first place. -Moved freezer with food in it but didn't plug it in at the new house nor did they tell me it needed to be plugged in. A few hundred $'s of food were spoiled. -Actual move cost was 50% higher than the estimate. However, they were very accommodating by giving me a big discount on the amount over the estimate. -They forgot to hook up the washer before leaving the new house. -They damaged wallboard in my new house. They did, however, quickly send a contractor over to fix it and he did a great job. -They left large, black streaks on one of my exit doors at the old house. -Had to remind them at least half a dozen times to not put items in the garage where they would block my boat. You might think it's reasonable to expect some damage to a home during a move. However, this is my fourth professional move and the first time any damage requiring fixing was caused to one of my homes. On a positive note: -Three of the 4 movers were great guys. Very friendly, professional and helpful. Very accommodating. One of the three was not very customer focused but not terrible either. They did work very hard and fast. -None of my furniture was damaged. -The manager was very responsive and helpful in addressing my issues and concerns. -They were very patient with waiting for my daughter and me to provide directions on where to put items. I've heard many good comments about these folks from friends. Given that and how responsive they were to my issues, I would consider using them again if they provide a competitive quote and they commit to charging no more than the quoted amount.
