Had them come to see if it could be repaired, knowing furnace was on its last legs. Applied the service call towards new furnace and air. Done within 3 days of ordering. Took 2 days to complete. Very satisfied.

The serviceman was very thorough and checked everything. He replaced the malfunctioning part on the air conditioner and then made some recommendations and we discussed a few options. He was very helpful in helping me to understand certain things about my A/C.

They guy was top notch. They did a full tune up and was only here for 20 minutes. I watched him, and he did things that previous heating contractors did not do. They are definitely one of the top companies in the area. I would say they are in the top 5. I didn't have sticker shock.

It went perfectly. Done in one day with a large knowledgeable crew. Very organized and work duty smart. They were in sync. It was a large update for us to do but it went great from the sales end of things through the installations. We were assured and involved and had and still have a high level of trust with these guys and gals. They moved a lot of stuff in and a lot of stuff out and you wouldn't have even known they were there once the job was done. So we couldn't be more happy. Stramowski installed a brand new furnace, took the old one out, installed several heat vents and duct work in order to heat our basement, and did the whole job for $4,700. They did an absolutely excellent job on everything - cleaned up their mess completely, and on the walls where they made the holes for the new duct work, they sealed the hole around the duct work with clear silicon sealant, and I had to actually look twice to figure out which was old, and which was new duct work. And I'm telling you I am a complete PERFECTIONIST, and there wasn't one ding in my walls. I am extremely pleased and impressed. They ran the overflow tubing for the water discharge just like I had the old one going neatly underneath the stairs into the floor drain. They even programmed our new thermostat to the exact program times we had on the old ones. And get this, they took care of filing fo the Focus on Energy rebate AND filed all the necessary warranty registration, then mailed us a complete package of all the paperwork, which included the manufacturers certification statement for the tax credit. WHY can't everyone do work like this?? I am very appreciative we found Stramowski, and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for HVAC work.

First time I used them the trip charge was $7995 the next time I called them the charge was $9000 did not use. (price grouching).

They were recommended by Angie's List. They were fine. What they did was fine. When they came out, they're not used to replacing regulators, even though they're replacing all of the furnace, the entire thing. They left a bad regulator. Their pricing was okay. We ended up having to spend extra money for the regulator. They could have noticed the regulator - the big red tag that We Energy flagged on there. I called one of the owners at night. He sent somebody out. But he was trying to carry on. They didn't have the part. He should have just said, "We don't have the part. We've just got to shut you off again."

When I called on Thursday afternoon (arctic blast coming on the weekend) I was surprised that they could send a technician out the same day. That impressed me. Our furnace was working, so we decided to have someone come out the next morning. The office staff person who set up the appointment was kind and helpful. Kyle explained all the parts of the furnace, how they function and how he checked each one to diagnose the problem. He discovered we had a malfunctioning pressure sensor. He explained to me this part's function and told me upfront how much it would cost to replace. He answered all my questions very thoroughly and I was very confident is his ability and impressed by his level of customer service. Kyle was great. He was prompt and professional and I highly recommend Stramowski heating

After calling a couple other companies that had very high service call fees for "off-hour" service (this was on a Saturday), found Stramowski that had a very reasonable service call rate at any time. Technician called back promptly and arrived within the hour of my initial call. Technician was very professional. He diagnosed the problem to be the circuit board. He gave an estimate to replace and I gave him the go-ahead. Furnace fired right up afterward. He was in and out in less than an hour. Very easy and pleasant experience.

A very good experience. They took care of a difficult removal of the old boiler and did a nice, clean install of the new boiler. They worked with our schedule and the price was very fair.

Kyle was the technician and he went above and beyond. He diagnosed the problem and was very honest in telling me that the part was very expensive (over $1800 installed). He also told me that it may be under warranty. He said that they were not a Carrier dealer but gave me the name and phone number of a dealer in the area that could help. He then proceeded to write down the model and serial number of the furnace to provide to the Carrier dealer. Luckily, the part was still under warranty for 7 more days!! Kyle took the time to explain everything to me so I understood how the part worked - even though he knew I would be contacting the other company to preform the work. This was EXCELLENT customer service!!!!

When Brian Stramowski first came to quote the job, he was very helpful suggesting what would be the best system for me to choose. He didn't try to sell me something I wouldn't need, keeping the cost reasonable. The job went flawlessly. The two man installation crew, arrived right on time. They were respectful of my house, putting down drop cloths to protect the floor. The truck was fully equipped for a field installation with all of the necessary and up to date tools. All sheet metal work was done right in the truck. The condensing unit set, the line set run, additional penetrations through the house for the combustion air and exhaust, electrical work and sheet metal were all proof of the installers attention to detail. Everything was done clean and professional. When the job was complete and the installers left, the only evidence they had been in my house was the new air conditioner sitting behind my house and the new furnace in the furnace room. They cleaned up everything and took the old equipment with them. They even repaired the flue pipe (sheet metal work) on my water heater which was totally outside the scope of the job, at no additional charge. I worked in facilities management for 30 years. In my opinion, Stramowski is one of the finest contractors I've worked with. I have already recommended them to several of my co-workers. I would recommend them for either service, new installation or replacement of your heating and cooling equipment.

Our air conditioner pipes were frozen and leaking water into the circuitry. We had to replace the circuit board, cut back our bush surrounding the AC unit and remove refrigerant. After this was done the AC unit started working great again. Both representatives that came over were very helpful and courteous. Would strongly recommend Stromowski.

He was really pushy and condescending. I will not use this company.

Was very punctual and courteous. Actually talked me out of a zoning system. Said the house would adequately cool without zoning. I have a Lennox furnace and I was told that it was a 2 stage furnace that would have been the appropriate equipment for zoning. I had another HVAC contractor come out that deals primarily with Lennox equipment and I was told the furnace was a single stage furnace, that would not have been suitable for zoning. Despite being prompt, honest and courteous, not being able to distinguish between a single stage and two stage furnace, for me, is a dealbreaker.

Our A/C was not functioning on Saturday and I called Stramowski that evening to schedule service for Sunday. They don't charge extra for weekend calls, unlike most service providers. I've called on Stramowski in the past - the humidifier in our furnace broke off from the main unit and needed repair on a Saturday. I was extremely pleased with both service calls, the first from a technician named Adam, and the second, Kyle. They were both courteous and professional.

My furnace was acting up and on a Sunday it went out. I called and left a message and within 40 minutes I received a call back from a technician. While discussing the problems I was having I got the furnace to kick in and start up. The technician suggested that I call the following day (Monday) and make an appointment for a tune up but in the event that the furnace went out again to call him back and he would come over to trouble shoot the problem. The technician was extremely pleasant and easy to talk to. I therefore called on Monday and scheduled an appointment. I have used this company in the past and appreciate that they call you the day before to remind you of the appointment. The day of the appointment the technician calls before he arrives and has always been on time. The tune up may have cost a little more than other companies but you get what you pay for. The technician explains everything he does, details it on the bill and has never charged more than the cost quoted. They also went the extra mile and made adjustments on the furnace to find what was making an annoying rattling noise - at no extra cost. This company does not try selling you anything and gives you honest advice. I have a laundry list of horror stories with other contractors but I am happy to say that calling these guys has always been a stress free experience.

Kyle called as promised and let me know he would arrive in 10-15 minutes which he did. He got right to work checking everything on the furnace and cleaning everything that needed cleaning. When he was done he went over everything he did explaining in detail. He asked if I had been hearing a noise sometimes on start-up which I affirmed. He explained it was the inducer/exhaust motor that would eventually have to be replaced. He did offer to replace the motor that day but also cautioned that the motor was almost a $1,000. There was no pressure to do the work. I asked for a verbal estimate for a new furnace and he gave me that along with explaining everything that would be done with the replacement. I will have them back to check my AC in the spring and if everything keeps working well with my furnace for the balance of the winter I will discuss having both replaced (AC is also 19 years old) as he said there would be a savings with replacing both at the same time. We were then discussing pets and he showed me pictures of his charming English bulldog puppy Earl.

The technician called ahead and showed up promptly - about 1/2 hour into the four-hour window given. He was friendly, professional, and knowledgable. The entire diagnostic & repair took about an hour and a half. I should have done at least a little homework/troubleshooting myself, but I didn't have the luxury of time for research. The furnace was out; I knew a cold snap was coming in two days, and that I would be out of town for one of them. And the rest of my week (heck, entire holiday season) is pretty booked up too. I didn't know what the cost would be, but I figured whatever it was, it would be worth it to avoid nastiness like burst pipes, which might occur should I dilly dally. So I selected this company right away, since they are highly rated here on the List, and they are very close by. The culprit was a faulty ignition controller. The furnace is 25+ years old. A replacement was readily available and installed by the tech. Here's the bit where I feel a little slighted. It turns out that this part can be had for around a hundred dollars, from several outlets... if you are willing to wait for it to ship, and to install it yourself. Stramowski's cost to provide and install it was upwards of $450 - not even counting the consultation/diagnostic fee. I'm no stranger to contracting - I realize that there is a premium to be paid for quick service, and that the cost of labor is roughly equivalent to the cost of parts. But a 400+% markup still seems a little excessive to me. Maybe this is standard in the HVAC industry; I don't know. Like I said, I failed to research, and that's on me. I'm handy enough working with electrical, but I get nervous working around gas lines... especially when it's old stuff, and you don't really know exactly what kind of shape your equipment is in. I guess this is just how these companies make their money. Maybe this sort of thing is the equivalent of taking your old car into the dealership to have it serviced, rather than to your buddy's mechanic. The technician did take about twenty minutes to explain my unit's entire situation to me, which I appreciated. He explained what all the components are, and how they work. My particular system is not much longer for this world - I knew that to begin with - but at least he left me with some useful knowledge so that I can do my own troubleshooting on the present and future HVAC unit. He did offer, at the very end of the appointment (after payment), that if I should elect to buy a whole new system from them this season, they would completely deduct the entire cost of today's appointment - labor, parts, and all. A not-so-thinly-veiled upsell attempt, to be sure, but I can certainly see where it would be a genuinely attractive offer to some people, and it was appreciated.
