Description of Work: Woke up to a COLD house. Reviewed ANGIES LIST and called STRAMOWSKI HEATING. Kyle showed up within a couple of hours. EXTREMELY FAST! He diagnosed the issue (bad blower assembly) VERY QUICKLY. Provided repair estimate of $507. Stated the furnace is old and parts are difficult to obtain (furnace is original to the home when we built it over 25 years ago). Also stated that the same type of blower (not identical) failed the previous week to a homeowner and that repair was $900 due to that blower assembly being even more difficult to find. So I agreed to the repair. Furnace was working properly within minutes! Work was FAST! Problem was resolved QUICKLY! And the COLD house was warm again! Husband came home and looked over paperwork / receipt that was left. He contacted technician and obtained the manufacturer and the part number of the blower assembly. After two minutes on the internet, he found that the blower assembly was readily available for $125 - $140. But to be accurate, the $507 was for the blower assembly, installation and a one year warranty. The installation took very little time, and definitely should be compensated for. As for the warranty, I would think the warranty would be covered by the blower assembly manufacturer. So the ONLY negative aspect of the experience was the $507 cost for the blower assembly and its installation. ALL OTHER ASPECTS WERE ABOVE EXPECTATIONS! It seems as if the elevated cost for the component with installation was excessive. I would use STRAMOWSKI HEATING again, at least for the service call and the diagnosis.

Description of Work: We just purchased our home and had a HVAV firm for an inspection of the hot water boiler. I caled Stramowski Heating to get a second opinion of a possible major repair or replacement. Service techniction Adam called ahead and actually was early for the service call. He was very thourgh in the inspection and explaination of how the boiler/heating system operates. He indicated that while the boiler was older (about 25 years old)it still was in very good condition with several updates having been made a few years prior to us purchasing this home. He did indicate however that replacement in the future would probably be necesary. We are still thinking about which path to follow (repair/replace)but I believe in either case we will have Stramowski Heating do the work.
