It was pretty good and they were very professional.

The price was reasonable. I appreciated them taking the time to do it. The realtor found somebody a little less pricey, but I hear he does good work. I was a little late in traffic, and he was patient and waited. He was professional.

Due to a water heater leak, I needed this replaced ASAP since it was a Friday and I believed that a service call on the weekend would be much more expensive. Sam came almost immediately and did a wonderful job of protecting my floors from this leaky mess as they took it from my basement to their truck. I say "they" because I had a new fixture for my bathroom, but had not contacted an electrician to install it when the water heater died. Sam mentioned that Hartlaub also had electricians on their staff, and he contacted the office, and Joe was available. The only question was the cost of both bills. My previous water heater replacement cost around $800 (in 2006), and this one was $1,366!!!!! The only addition the bill was a charge ($101) for replacing the water heater shut-off valve from the original round turn-off valve to a bar that turns 90 degrees (a wonderful change). I paid this by check at the time of service and did not think to challenge it. However, when I received the bill for the electrical help, I did call the company and got the charges reduced $92 from the original and thus only paid $156.

I would have preferred they just tell me they are too busy to take the job than to waste my time showing them what we needed done and never hearing back from them.

The quality of work with this and the other things I've had done has been flawless.

I called them on a Thursday morning. The woman who answered was very friendly and helpful. She set the appointment for around noon. Sam came on time and we showed him the leak. He talked with us about what the problem was. Within the hour he had pulled the toilet up, investigated the subfloor, fixed it up and reset the toilet. Sam was great to work with--he is super nice and very knowledgeable. I was very pleased with the whole experience.

My husband and I were looking into purchasing a home but during the inspection found there were some potential issues with the plumbing. Our inspector recommended calling a plumber to investigate further to determine how much the repairs could cost. I found Hartlaub on AngiesList and gave them a call. A woman in the office took my call right away and told me Mike would call me back shortly. Very soon after, I did receive a call back from Mike who agreed to come out for free to do a visual inspection to let us know what issues we may be facing. Mike was very professional, responsive and I appreciated that he was able to fit us in under short notice. Mike did come, along with another employee, and did the visual inspection. They were on time and seemed to know their stuff. Gave us a quick estimate of what they thought the repairs would need. Based on this interaction, my husband was excited to call them back after we purchased the home to hire them to actually do the repairs. Unfortunately, Mike kept putting off our repairs for some reason. At times, our calls were forwarded to voicemail and at one point when we finally did get through, he said he would call us back after work and we haven't heard from him since. Such a let down as we were excited to finally have a plumber we could count on. The only thing we can think of was apparently after the inspection he gave us, he made an off-hand comment about "not making much money on this job". We thought it was just a round about way of saying we should not worry about the repairs and go ahead and purchase the home. Apparently that's not what he meant..... So long story short, it started out great but unfortunately ended poorly.

Last week Brian came out to check carbon monoxide emissions from my water heater based on a recommendation from We Energies to have that done. Diagnostic review performed showed no problem. Today, Josh came out to clean and tune my hot water heater. He also pointed some other areas of concern and even tightened the handle on my laundry tub for me just to be nice. He did an excellent job of explaining why, how and how much to adjust my hot water heater to get it to the most comfortable level. Both Brian and Josh took the extra step of verifying with manufacturers that they had the right information on my water heater that is basically a commercial model in a residence that I don't think is very common. Considering everything they did, I think their price is reasonable and I feel I can trust them and their work.

It took a while to resolve things but ultimately they did.

I was very pleased with Brian from Hartlaub Plumbing. I had been extremely leery about hiring a plumber and in fact had been putting it off for several months. Brian was friendly, easy going, and forthright with his information. He showed me what I needed to do to unclog the hair from the tub, showed me what was wrong with the toilet, and the kitchen drain. He also gave suggestions on maintenance to help avoid these problems in the future. He didn't have the right handle for my toilet, so he put on a temporary one until he could get the correct handle to install. I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to friends and family.

The work was beautifully done and quickly completed. Clean cuts, tidy soldering, no leaking, top of the line fixtures. I had the technician give me quotes for multiple other projects while he was here. While the plumbing job was superb, they are expensive. Some constructive criticism for Hartlaub: Please don't put your stickers all over my house without permission. Also, the multiple brochures, referral discounts, furnace contract stuff, it all felt very door-to-door salesman. This review feels unfair because I am very happy with the work completed.

Drains work great. Man was very nice BUT he dinged a door in a hallway with his equipment and I know he realized he did this. Never apologized.

I had a shower faucet that was leaking quite heavily and had to turn all water to the house off because the shower does not have a separate shut-off, it was Sunday and I needed to have the water turned back on. I called Hartlaub because he works on Sundays, I described to him my problem and what my faucet looked like, turned out that my Kohler faucet is quite old {21 yrs.} and he had a replacement in his stock. In a short time I had my shower faucet replaced and have not had a problem since. Hartlaub was very professional and everything was cleaned up after the job was completed. I would definitely call him again.

Excellent work by Sam . When he encountered a problem, he told me about it with a cost estimate before he did any work. After years of being frustrated and changing plumbers, Sam is my only plumber from now on.

We have had a good experience. We call them whenever we have plumbing needs.

I've had Brian do other work in my home and have been very pleased with his work and his professionalism. For this work, I called a week in advance, requested Brian and set a time for the next Monday morning. When I heard nothing by about 10 AM on Monday, I called back and was told some other employee would be there "later." It was the same woman I had spoken to originally and when I reminded her that I had requested Brian, she acted surprised. We were able to reschedule for three days later. Brian arrived on time, spent the whole day doing all the work and explained and showed me all the details of what he was doing and why and what I could expect. My home is about 100 years old and most of the plumbing has not been upgraded, so he also gave me estimates for replacing some things that will need it within the next year or so. I couldn't be happier with the work Brian has done in my home.

The plumber was very professional, helpful, prompt and had an all around good attitude. I immediatly texted a friend who had been looking for a plumber.

Josh and Jordan were prompt and set to work. Unfortunately it was a very rainy day, but they came well prepared with a tent-like structure to shield them from the worst of the storm. They were very neat, quiet and well mannered. It took them about 6 hours due to the weather conditions. They carefully installed the new unit on another side of the house, with an additional outdoor receptacle per code, a pea gravel base and surrounded the unit by pavers (supplied by myself). Josh had surveyed the area at an earlier date and was prepared with a special saw to remove a series of stumps from a large shrub that I had pruned earlier. Josh kept me apprised of the situation and informed me when he had to leave for a short time to obtain a few more supplies. At the conclusion of the project, Josh gave me a tour and I pointed out a couple of small things that they took care of quickly. Josh explained that with the replacement of a particular piece, both the heat and cooling would run more quietly. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the furnace did run more quietly. Josh had also installed a new furnace last fall and it was running a bit loud, though well. I tried the A/C a few days later and it runs noiselessly. I am very pleased with the excellent job that was done.

Mike Hartlaub did an exceptional job providing the quote. Since water-powered back-up sump pumps are relatively rare, it is important that there is enough water pressure to operate properly. Mike did his homework and called the city to ensure that there was enough pressure. No other quote showed the level of detail that Hartlaub's did, and they also were the most competitive. The quote included all permits. On the day scheduled to do the work, they arrived exactly when expected, and did an excellent job. The new sump pump was tested to ensure that it worked properly. They also removed two pipes for us. Everything about them was first rate. I highly recommend them.

Everything went very well. Plumber arrived on time. The work took longer than expected, but he kept working at for the same quote of service. Well pleased with the work. As to price, I did not get quotes, since I was paying for a service charge to have the plumber come to my home. I figured I would have to pay this again if I called another plumber. So I can't speak to the price charged.

Sam was very cordial, prompt and conscientious. He was very careful during every step of the installation, which included covering the entire area around the sink with a large cloth tarp. He kept me updated on the process and informed me of any challenges or additional charges that emerged as the process evolved. He was very comfortable with my cat who needed to keep herself attuned to the process as well! I hadn't anticipated the cost of the replacement but the old faucet system was inexpensive in appearance and had never worked very well. Sam kept the area very clean and put all small refuse pieces in the faucet parts box which he informed me of before leaving. Overall, a very pleasant experience with little stress. This company always holds to high performance standards whether it be plumbing or electrical. Not the cheapest, but certainly one of the best companies for quality work.

Mike just left my house. He's my hero today. I had called Hartlaub in a hopeful panic this morning because I had accidentally flushed my wedding ring down the toilet. The receptionist put me through to Mike, the owner, right away. Much to my relief, he said he would come out himself and could use a camera to try to find the ring. He came out shortly after our conversation, and assessed the situation to decide where the ring most likely would be. With his camera, he then located the ring in our basement plumbing rather quickly. Getting it out was the tricky part, but he was determined and resourceful, and I now have my wedding ring back! I cannot thank Mike enough. It may be all in a day's work for him, but for me, he truly did a wonderful thing.
