"The staff seem to be really good and professional people. The reason for my 2-star rating is that the work done simply didn't deliver on expectations of durability. There are sections of my driveway where nearly all of the seal coating came off in less than 9 months, so I am going to have to re-do the job myself. This is not what I had in mind when I paid over $1,100 (a fair price, if it would have lasted longer). I understand that the work isn't covered anymore, as I didn't report it until the thaw revealed so much was missing, and I'm not upset with Merit or their staff. Most sealing projects take 1-2 days, including drying time before allowing traffic.

Driveway sealcoating costs around $500 on average, or between $1.25 and $1.50 per square foot for materials and labor. Most homeowners pay between $250 and $800 for this service. Your project price will depend mostly on the size of your driveway, the type of sealant, how much pressure washing or treatment is required before sealing, and the number of coats of sealant applied to your driveway. Plan to seal your driveway between late spring (after the rains have slowed) and early fall, or when temperatures are 55 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. A warmer environment helps the sealant bond with the driveway. To ensure your driveway cures correctly, you should make sure no rain is in the forecast for at least 48 hours after sealing.
