+ -1 moreAfter I received two other free estimates without needing to be present I canceled the appointment with Drucks Sudden Service.
Description of Work: I spoke with Drucks Sudden Service about the work and asked for an estimate. They checked to see if they could get information from the power company to see what work needed to occur, but the power company would not release that information as they were not the homeowner. They scheduled a time with me at home to take a look at the work but required $59.00 to preform an estimate.

+ -1 moreKevin the installer was awesome! Super nice .... Very friendly, very professional, a complete pleasure. The price was off the charts! I had envisioned 100 dollars or less and as the work was less than an hour I believe my vision should have been on target. As a matter of fact after reading one of the negative reviews on this site where a 69.00 service can was reference and then finding a 25.00 off coupon that I was able to print off from this site I thought I would probably not be much above the minimum. To have it cost more than the services of an attorney is just craziness!
Description of Work: Took tge two existing wires which were terminated in a wall outlet that I had disconnected after shortening a half wall, pulled them back three feet, exterminated them in a new outlet box which they cut into the drywall, and terminated them in a new outlet

+ -1 moreI explained to Kevin what was going on and he explained to me the pricing procedure that Drucks uses. Kevin found and fixed the electrical problem in one of our bedrooms which was actually happening in the ajoining bedroom with a short in one recepticle. At the same time while Kevin was in the basement checking the breakers he found two other problems and also fixed them. While finishing up with the bill I asked Kevin about our smoke detectors and he explained to me that they have a life expectancy on them which we were totaly unaware of. When it comes time to have them replaced we will be calling Drucks. And we will also be signing up for the Drucks preventative program. Well worth the money and our safety. I can not say enough nice things about Kevin and Drucks and their professional treatment.
Description of Work: We had a room upstairs that had no power to it and Kevin fixed the problem.

+ -1 moreDrucks was on time as promised. He took care of all of the permits and talking with Menasha Utilities. In a day he had completed the job and cleaned up beautifully. My house is an old house and required extra work, including a pole on the roof to raise the wiring up to code. Drucks did exactly what they told me they would do and in a timely and professional manner. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing their type of services.

+ -1 moreWe are new to the area and have a need for a few electrical jobs to be done. We were told we couldn't even get a quote without a $60 service fee. We've never had to pay for a quote as the whole purpose is to get the companies take on what needs to be done and decide if you like that company and want to offer them the job. Also, as we don't know anybody in the local area we obviously felt it would be smart on our end to get a competitive quote so we feel confident in the work being done and the people we invite back into our home. The best Drucks Sudden Service could offer was to apply the $60 to the work performed, however, if we chose to go with another company, we would still have to pay the $60.
Description of Work: No services were provided as the initial phone conversation lead us to choose a different electrician.

+ -1 moreThe provider left me in the lurch with a leak on my hands.
Description of Work: The provider had previously drained my heating system at a cost of around 2000 dollars. One year later there was another leak. I was away from the property and asked that the leak be repaired. I had previously asked that the system be checked for problems last time it was drained. When I was told that the system had to be drained again at a cost of around 1000 dollars I was concerned based on what was to have been a check of the system. Nonetheless, fearing a flood, I authorized that the repair be made. I have spoken with the owner in the past and asked to speake with him but was told he retired.I also asked that this time survey be made of potential leak spots so they could be fixed without having to drain the whole hot water system again which is very expensive.The morning the repair was to be made, I was "fired " as a client for having raised these issues and asked to speak with the owner.I begged not to be left in the lurch but to no avail.Admittedly I had expressed my displeasure but had no idea that doing so would result in my being "fired" as a client after about 14 years as a loyal customer.I even offered to apologize to anyone I had offended by my objection but was not allowed to do so.If you are displeased with prior service or a job is not done as requested, keep it to yourself lest you be "fired" as a customer even if doing so could introduce dangerous delays in fixing a significant problem.

Description of Work: Came out after-hours to check my water heater. They are literally down the street from me and they charged 180 bucks just to show up and confirm that my water heater was dead. That's it. No repairs because that would have cost over 1000 bucks, and I knew they were overreaching with that estimate. Didn't want to take an Angie's List coupon either, so watch out.

+ -1 moreThey made an appointment with the renter and checked the furnace and change the furnace filters. They had to change the furnace filters. No other service was needed. They called the property manager to authorize the work but she did not respond or call them back. This is who they were supposed to call and she is supposed to take care of it. They would of had to leave the house without doing the work. They found my phone number and called me to authorize the work. If they had not put out the extra effort to find my number and waited for me to call them back they would of had to leave without doing the work. They only number they had was the number of the property manager and she did not call them back or respond to their request. They called me and the work was done and their price for the service call was very reasonable.
Description of Work: Drucks did an annual check of the furnace in a rental property I own in Oshkosh

Description of Work: He was amazing!!! First he explained the diagnostics charge. We lost power to all our outlets in the garage. He said if he found the problem quickly he would prorate the diagnostics charge and not overcharge on that. He did find the problem quickly, repaired it, and spent time answering some questions I had on other power issues in our new home.

+ 0 moreThere were two guys riding together that day, which worked out great for me, only one service call! One was the electrician and the other was the hvac tech. They both did what needed to be done quickly and professionally. I was very pleased with the experience.
Description of Work: Attempted to fix a light fixture,but I ended up taking it to a lighting store for a repair. Also they refilled the freon in the air conditioners after finding a leak and fixing that as well.

+ 0 moreAs you can ell, it did not go well at all. I did forget to mention - there must be something wrong with the way the kitchen faucet is installed as well as the tub/shower unit. When we try to use the sprayer in the kitchen it smells like sewer gas.
Description of Work: Needed a bathroom tub/shower/tile replacement (faucet dripped and tile was in poor shape due to improper drywall when installed originally) and repair of leaking kitchen faucet. When the plumber took apart the faucet (a Moen) he said there was a part broken inside and it couldn't be fixed. Said the only thing he had that he could replace the faucet with was a Delta - that is horrible design but we were given no options. Found out later that Moen has a lifetime guarantee and the part could have been replaced. |The bathroom is worse. We were given no choice in tub design and received a low plastic tub - again, no options offered. The new tub/shower faucet and handle are again Delta and of poor design. Water is either on full-blast or off, no flow control. The handle for the shower is installed sideways - instead of the lever pointing down when off and to the side when on, it is pointing to the side when off and pointing straight up when on - extremely dangerous. The sealant separated from the foot end of the tub within the first month of install. Also, the plumber laid tools on the cultured marble vanity and scratched it. I would NEVER call these people again.

+ 1 moreI have a contract with them to maintain my boiler and my air conditioner. They do an electrical check and a plumbing check. Anything outside of that I get a discount because I have a contract. On the weekends, they don't charge weekend prices, they give me regular prices. They pretty much cover everything that would most frequently cause problems. When I call them, I get fast service, and courteous. They always clean up well after whatever they do. They give friendly, helpful suggestions. They just seem to be a really good company to work with. I would tell other members to get their yearly contract, it is worth it. When my hot water heater went out I couldn't shut the valve. It was 30 years old. I had to shut the water off to the house and this was winter time and with a boiler I need to be able to pull water for the boiler. I called them and I don't think it was 45 minutes and they were here.
Description of Work: I last used Drucks Sudden Service to install a hot water heater in February or March for me.

I like being able to count on one company for all my plumbing, electrical and hvac issues. I have had several different representatives here and they have all been very professional, efficient and knowledgeable. Thanks Drucks!
Description of Work: I have had plumbing issues in the past and was under a home warranty so it was never fixed all the way. I had to use different plumbers they provided and was only happy with one of them. One call was on a Holiday so they let me call anyone and I called Drucks and they did the best they could with what was approved. I no longer have a warranty and have since purchased a partner plan with Drucks and in April I had a backup again with my washer and they cleaned out all pipes from inside to the road, He was here for over two hours on a weekend. He recommended a camera view due to some difficulty getting through some pipes. They came with the camera and I did not have any problems but a great piece of mind knowing what they look like. They explain everything to you in detail and really know what they are doing.

+ -1 moreIn spring I turned my water on in my garage and the pressure was bad. I heard what sounded like a leak and sure enough I had water spraying into my basement. I called Drucks and the were at my house in an hour. Repaired the leak and were out in about two hours. Lifesavers!

+ 0 moreThe electrical technician first came out to give us a quote and did a thorough inspection. He was extremely friendly, professional (insisted on covering his shoes) and on time. All cost options were documented and discussed and we were given 30 days to respond to lock in the price and wouldn't be charged another service call. We went with his recommendations and set another appointment and he was available to do the work within a week. The job was very labor-intensive and he finished everything ahead of schedule without us losing power for more than a couple minutes. He went the extra mile by even doing some touch up paint work to make the recessed lighting job complete. He did a super job of cleaning up and making sure we were completely satisfied with his work, which we where.
Description of Work: Repair and installation of new electrical boxes, installation of new smoke alarms throughout home, & installation of six new recessed lighting fixtures.

Description of Work: They came right away to diagnose the problem with my water heater. They quoted me $109 over the phone and then charged me an extra $90 for the three minutes it took for the guy to tell me I needed a new water heater. What? You said $109 on the phone--"oh, that's just to get the truck on the road ". They are ten minutes away from my house. DON'T use them!!! Even with the Angie's coupon they are a rip-off. Tried to sell me a water heater, minus installation charge, for over $1,000. Guy must have assumed I was a complete moron! It just ticked me off.

+ -1 moreWe had our airconditioning, furnace, and water heater all replaced by Drucks a few years ago. We found that the April Air in our house was never fully installed by the previous owner and wanted to get an estimate on what it would cost to get it up and running. Drucks would only give us an estimate if they charged a trip charge. I was expecting that with the business that we've given them, someone could stop and give us an estimate when they were over in this area with no trip charge. This was not a time sensitive request from us. I was disappointed and don't plan to call them again.
