Miracle Method Surface Refinishing

Visit went well. Waiting to see how it holds up.

They did very good work. They were very prompt. They did what they said they were going to do. The work was very good. I had no problem with them at all.

They did a great job on resurfacing the tub, it looks great even 6 months later. They made sure we knew how to care for the resurfaced tub as well. I was very impressed with the work they performed. I have recommended them to friends and would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

Project went well. Adam performed the work. He was on time and worked diligently. He spent seven hours on day one, another seven hours on day two, and about three hours on day three. He explained everything in detail as to what he would do when he gave us an estimate about a month earlier. He reexplained everything when he came to do the work. When finished, he explained in detail what he had done and how to clean and what products to use/not use to preserve the surface in the future. We are pleased with the outcome and are considering having him back to do another bathroom. As an added bonus, he deducted 5% from the original estimate when I indicated I was a member of Angie's List! That discount paid for my yearly dues and then some!

We bought our house 5 years ago. At that time the tub finish was already flacking off. We remodeled our bathroom in December and the last piece was to refinish the tub. I called Miracle Method and Adam called me back within a few hours. He was very professional and very courteous. I mentioned a few items about my tub and he described the exact condition and why it was happening. He felt that the tub in the past had been chemically etched and when water gets behind it the finish peels off in flakes. He described why his finish was better. I had a different tub chemically etched about 4 years ago at a property we own and was very happy with the results. I figured if this was better I would spend the extra $100-$150. We scheduled a time for Adam to do his work. As he was getting into the bust season, Adam wanted to get on this job quick. The first opening he proposed, I needed to leave before he was done on the first day and was not able to be there for the second day. Adam said that would not be a problem if I was comfortable with him locking up. I was and he did. Adam told me it was $150 to take the old finish off my tub or I could get as much off as I could, he would get the rest and prorate the charge. I was able to get 95% or so of the finish off and Adam did not charge for the few remaining spots. The first day Adam cleaned the tub, fixed as many dings and dents as he could, taped off the area, and applied the finish. When he was done on the first day it looked like a brand new tub. We had to leave the door closed and the exhaust fan on all night because the odor was so strong. The next day I was not able to let Adam in so I gave him a garage code and he finished up his work. He sanded out imperfections, reinstalled the drain cover and overflow and cleaned up the area. My only disappointment with the entire process was two quarter sized drips on the end of the tub and a ripple in the finish on the outside face. I called Adam regarding this a few days later. He stated that generally the customer is present on the second day to inspect and help him determine which imperfections he should work out. This was not something he told me when I indicated I could not be there for the second day. He stated he could come back, cut out those areas and refinish but the result most likely would look worse than the current condition. I told him we would live with it for a month and if it still bothered us we would call him back. At the risk of things looking worse and not having to keep my family out of the bathroom for another day we did not call him back. Overall the finish looks much better than the old flaking finish and the bathroom is done. The tub at our other property we had chemically etched is still holding up great. I have no drips or waves in my chemically etched tub and that stands up to tenant use. It also only cost $300 to have done, with a new drain. Adam said his method could last 20+ years and chemically etching is only a 5 year solution. I guess time will only tell which finish lasts longer.

Contractor did a great job in preparing for the appointment and executing the refinishing. On time and on budget. Would recommend to anyone.

A different company had refinished our bathtub previously and the finish peeled off. The only mistake we made was not hiring this company first as they were very professional. We will not hesitate to use them again.

It has been over a year now and the tub continues to sparkle like new. They were prompt and explained the process, cleaned up their mess afterward. We are very glad we paid the extra $50 for the non-slip surface - we no longer need a tub mat. We could not be happier with this job and once again - sometimes you pay a little more for top quality processes, but it is worth it in the long run.

Overall, everything went smoothly. Some issues with scheduling and phone tag initially, but well worth it.

The person who estimates your job will explain what you must do to prepare, in this case we had to move the refigerator and stove because they blocked some of the surface to be refinished. The installer takes care of everything else. There was no need to remove food from the pantry or dishes/pots/pans from the cabinets. The finish is perfect and has proven to be very sturdy, as well as quite lovely.

I wish I had talked to them before purchasing the Big Deal because they require that the drain be fairly new or replaced before doing the work. This presented complications for me and I was unable to meet that requirement since my drain was old and difficult to replace. Perhaps that should have been a disclaimer in the deal description. So I ended up forfeiting the Big Deal price of $75.

Great. The resurfacing paint is stinky, but otherwise all was good. He showed up on time and did the work and cleaned up afterwards.

We appreciate that Adam returned our call right away. The other providers, who were top-rated as well, never even called back. Adam came out that week, did the work on the necessary schedule (for multiple applications of coatings, etc.) as he had described to us in advance, and was finished when he said he would be. The tub looks amazing and he had helpful input as far as selecting the shade of white glaze we wanted, so that it would match the tile and flooring we'd chosen, as closely as possible. He also answered all of our questions about caring for the tub, as re-surfaced tubs need to be cleaned and cared for more gently than enameled cast iron. For us, it was much more cost-efficient than replacing the tub in our second-floor bathroom. He did his best to vent the chemical fumes out of the house, but we would recommend leaving the house for the day while this service is performed. Great job, Adam! and thanks.

Adam called us back in response to our message. He listened to what we wanted to do, and arranged to come to our home to give us an estimate. He arrived on time and provided us with a written estimate. We scheduled the work with him. He arrived on time. While our tub and shower were out of commission for a day and a half, we were told to expect the downtime. Everything went as planned. WE are very pleased with the results.

It had been 26 years since the tub had been resurfaced by another company. They gave me the information about their process and the cost. An appointment was set up for the 2 day process. Tom was promptly on time, professional, polite, considerate and cleaned up each day. There wasn't anything for me to do except admire his work and I will definitely hire them again if I am in need of their service.

Adam did an excellent job of refinishing the tub. He went out of his way to get the exact shade of white I wanted, even coming back a second time because the original white my husband chose wasn't the white I wanted, and re-did the tub at no extra charge. Finished product looks wonderful. A slight imperfection on one side of the tub seems as if it doesn't have the final slick finish on it. Adam explaind that not all surfaces will be exactly the same. I don't totally buy that answer; I think he doesn't want to have to come out a THIRD time. There is a five-year warranty, so if there seems to be a problem in that area in the future, we'll have him back to re-do it. The time to do the work was exactly as he said; 4 hours the first day and 1-2 hours the second. Pretty strong smell after he was done the first day. Have it done in good weather so you can open windows. The smell was gone by the second day. A thin film was left over any surfaces he didn't cover; most of it washed off with windex. He covered the tub surround about 18 inches up from the tub and the surround that wasn't covered had the film. If you have this done I would suggest making sure walls surrounding the tub are completely covered even if you have to do it yourself.

They were okay. The overall experience with them was good. They did what they said they were going to do and at the time they said they would. They did it at the price they said would do it.

The tub looks great; it is one of those where time will tell whether or not the finish will last as long as they say it will. The technician was efficient and very specific with the time. He followed through, cleaned up great and I will use them again in the future.

We had an excellent discussion on the phone concerning our wishes and the status of the tub. The procedure and cost was explained carefully and a date and time was set. He called to confirm and arrived on time. We had been concerned about the smell of the process and were relieved to find it inconsequential. He arrived a day later to put the finishing touches on the surface. It looks wonderful. He also gave us advice on how to clean and what not to use. We were having some other bathroom repairs done at the same time and he removed the glass shower doors and replaced them. I would highly give a recommendation for Miracle Method.

Our 60 year-old bathtub looks like new! Far beyond our expectations. We also chose the non-slip surface which was an extra cost, but worth it -- no more grimy vinyl mats! Adam was very professional, arriving on time and explaining the process and how to clean the new surface. May be pricier than other methods, but looks wonderful and is supposed to last for many years. One caution: if you are getting new toilet or sink, shop ahead for the color so it will match. We did not realize there were different shades of white so had to make a quick decision. We went with Kohler white, which then limited us to Kohler brand for the other fixtures in order for color to match.

I was not home at the time but they did arrive on a Tuesday to do the prep work and Wednesday they applied the finish. They did come back briefly on Thursday to caulk and clean up. By Thursday evening I was enjoying my new bathroom.

We are very pleased. We do not have any negative comments. They arrived on time and did as promised. After they finished we had a few blemishes that we didn't think were quite right, but they came right back to fix the job.

The finish appears good with no blemishes. We were giving instructions on the care of the surface. The owner gave us the option of dropping off and picking up the sink to save delivery charges, which we appreciated. While the job was done a week later than projected, it did not affect our remodeling project and we did not press the issue. Adam was personable and honest in his interactions. There is a 1 year warranty on the work but we have not used it long enough to make any judgement.
