Everything was pleasant until no bid was provided. Reached out with email, a response, excuse and promise was given but a proposal was never provided. So, it was a waste of time to try and do business with Callen.

The were very professional and quick to respond. I could not have been happier with their presentation but misunderstood the pricing of the big deal and could not afford their estimate to have the attic insulated. If I had the money I would use them but feel their prices are on the high end.

They did a very good job. They are always willing to come back if anything is not right. They have a great design manager that helped me with the design of the kitchen. They are very detail oriented. They are capable of doing big jobs, but they are willing to do small jobs like mine with equal effort and quality.

We were very pleased with their work. They came when they said they would. They let us know when they encountered additional, unexpected work and gave us reasonable quotes to complete the work, told us how long each step would take, and completed the work on time and within budget. All workers cleaned up after each section of the job, and they protected the plantings around the base of the house from their work. After all was said and done, the inspector came out and verified with us that the work was done and of good quality. Very professional!

We had a few little glitches but overall when it was finished it was a quality job done well. Part of it was the weather affected some of what happened because the day that they put the roof on was an extremely windy, cold day. Probably not an ideal day for putting on the roof. We were a little disappointed that we were scheduled for the week earlier and we got pushed back because of another project that didn't get done and he pulled the crew off our project and put them on another one. We were not notified. The only complaint I had would be with communication.

Very professional from start to finish. Took great care to protect our floors as they had to go upstairs and then up a ladder into our attic.

They were excellent about coming out & talking to me - giving me my options, as well as showing me their products when I visited the show room. I just couldn't afford what they wanted to charge for the work they said they'd need to do. In the future I may end up using them but unfortunately the money's not there right now.

They have met our expectations. They did a great job. We had several other small ad hoc repairs we needed done too and they happily did those as well. The sales contractor came out and he was just very honest and very professional about what they would and wouldn't be able to do so they didn't give unreasonable expectations as to what we should expect. He was very honest, professional and did very good work. They were very responsive and punctual.

Mike and his crew arrived promptly at 8:30 as scheduled. They were courteous and answered the few questions I had. They said they would be done by 3:00 and actually finished up by 2:30. They were very professional and easy to work with. I'd hire them again.

The problem, a water leak into our completely remodeled main bathroom. I called The Callen Company based on several referrals from folks I work with. The inspection pointed to a poorly sealed chimney flashing. The leak had been traveling down the rafters and out to the overhang. The bathroom remodel and a movement in the attic insulation redirected the leak and it found it's way into a recessed ceiling light. The fix was a total removal of the old flashing and several boards that had rotted. The fix was 100% in it's redirect of the water, and the completed job looks great as well. I keep a close watch on anyone working on my property. This day on the roof was cold and breezy, but watching a real pro was worth the discomfort.

The entire experience was non-stressful and handled with unquestionable professionalism. I never had unanswered questions or felt ill-at-ease with anything during the whole process. When the entire process was finished I was impressed with the overall craftsmanship of the work. I will be contacting them again next year to replace the rest of my windows and siding.

They would not put in the minimum amount of insulation based on the price of the deal. It was going to cost alot more. They did not even come out and look; they gave me the estimate over phone.

The service was good. The only thing I had a problem with was I thought they would come up with a better design idea. I had to come up with the idea and I needed a bit more help. I had to do the research myself to come up with the design. The work did come out fine however.

They did a great job. I was very pleased with them. They were a little on the high end but I went with them because of the full-package deal they offer. A year after they put the roof on, a member of the tile manufacturing company came out to inspect Callen's workmanship & confirmed it was very well done! They also offer a fantastic warranty & on the tiles & guarantees. They provide very high quality workmanship & materials.

The time management was terrible and we didn’t get the window we originally contracted for. We received a much cheaper window.

I wouldn't hire this company for an estimate again. They seem to be a waste of time unless you have lots and lots of money.

They are excellent. I would give them A's across the board. We have used them before and they have always been extremely confident and professional. We had about 25 windows done; it was a big job. We had high quality windows put in and we got a good price on them. I am quite pleased and everything is nice and sound. We would use them again.

Callen came out promptly to inspect my attic. They were very courteous and thorough. They did an excellent job of installing the insulation and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. I was very pleased with their service. They also followed up after the work to be sure I had no questions or concerns with the work performed. I would not hesitate recommending Callen Construction and I will surely use them again in the future.

On April 4, 2012 I contacted Callen and several others in this category about a porch remodel and renovation. At first I was encouraged because I was contacted promptly about setting up an appointment. An appointment was arranged and one of the estimators came out on a Tuesday evening to review what we wanted to have done. We met and discussed the project and expense limitations and what our cost limitations were (I advised up to $25,000). The estimator took measurements and pictures and I gave him a copy of some sketches of the project and he assured me that he would have something "for" us to see in a week or so and would also send some info on other projects Callen had done similar to this. I believe that was April 10. It is now May 6 and there has not been a single word from anyone from Callen. I know that they have both my phone and email address as I was previously contacted by these methods. I note that several years ago I contacted this contractor on another project and a similar thing happened, but in view of the remarks on Angie's list thought I would give them another shot-lots of smoke but no fire from this firm---If not interested in the project then say so and not be enthusiastic and then disappear. Actions speak louder than words.

Everything proceeded extremely smooth. All the craftsman came through at the same time to assess what needed to be done. This was great as the plumber and electrician were able to decide if pipes could be moved to accommodate new wiring. The carpenter was there as was the dry wall guy. The designer was also present. After they left, we were presented with a calendar stating when various jobs would be started and completed. That was a great help for us! They were on time and got things done according to the calendar, basically. We also appreciated the fact that all of the people were highly experienced. We worked with a different contractor for the upstairs bathroom the year before and they had young, straight out of high school kids doing the work. It was sloppy. I wish we had Callen for that job too. Callen is terrific. I highly recommend them.

They were unable to find the leak. Howover, they went above and beyond looking for it and they have asked that when we discover the problem to let them know what it was. The other work they've done for me is beautiful.

They did well. They were a little on the pricey side, but they were one of the only companies who had my particular window.

The Cellen professionals and subcontractors were always on time,,displayed much skill and left our property in immaculate condition. The various projects were scheduled perfectly.

Two installers were here as scheduled, looked at the job and determined the best method of bringing insulation into the area where the work was to be done. (above the bedroom on the 3rd floor) Brought up the blown in insulation via access fro the 3rd floor exterior window after prep work was completed. Cleaned and vacuumed the bedroom under the work area and the entire stairway and entry point they had used for access. Didn't have to do a thing after showing them where the work had to be done.

They were very professional. Our attic access is in the master bedroom closet so I was worried about the mess. I couldn't even tell they had been there. It used to be very cold in the closet, now it is nice and warm. They cleaned up very well and spent the amount of time needed to do the job completely.
