Description of Work: Callen was extremely responsive in providing estimates for windows, of multiple types (wood, fiberglass, full replacement) as I learned more about window options and narrowed down options to what I wanted in my home. The customer contact rep was polite, timely, and provided consistent, but not pushy, follow-up, to make sure I had the information I needed for a decision. My neighbor is using Callen for a bathroom remodel, and is also extremely pleased with their professionalism, communication and problem-solving, as issues surface through the project's milestones. They run a professional organization. I would not hesitate to consult them.

Description of Work: I called Callen to discuss a renovation project for our home - garage entry remodel and office alterations mainly. In my conversation with a designer, we briefly discussed the project and what we wanted out of it.

No matter what the job, Callen has always delivered quality workmanship and terrific responsive service. The last job was installing 7 windows, a bow window and a skylight. We have recommended Callen to others whom all were pleased. We recently took bids for a new roof (tear down) and chimney repair summer '13. This was the first time that we have found this company to be SO far over the other bidders that we couldn't justify the extra cost.

Description of Work: We replaced 16 windows on our second floor and 2 windows in our kitchen. The upstairs windows were full replacements while the kitchen windows were casement inserts to replace existing double-hungs. The work started about two weeks before Christmas in 2012 and quickly morphed into additional projects which is why the job took so long to complete. The Callen folks were very patient and worked with us as we changed some things (and also took a 2 week vacation). That stretched the job out a bit (not their fault). All of our second floor windows had plaster returns (not casing around the outside of the inside window) which made the window removals & installations quite challenging. The installers, foreman & salesman worked with us, however, so that we could retain the look of the existing windows. We went with the Infinity windows because our old windows were wood and we wanted them to look the same. I was a doubting Thomas about the lack of need for storm windows, but boy, what a difference the new windows made! The subs that Callen had do the plaster repair and staining were outstanding. The window installers were accomplished technicians and they did an amazing job. They were cheerful, trustworthy, paid attention to detail and always cleaned up at the end of the day. I could leave and go to work knowing that everything was in their good hands. The installers worked around my schedule, were prompt, and called to let me know they were on their way. The foreman and salesman also followed to make sure everything was going well and that I was pleased with the work and with the progress.

Description of Work: They blew insulation in our attic. We went from 4" to about 24".

Description of Work: Callen did a remodel of our home, removing a wall between the living room and family room to create an open space to a 1970s ranch style home with very small rooms and a closed in feeling. They did an excellent job. The workers were professional, cleaned up before they left and made a major mess manageable. The finished result was beyond what I had expected. The whole thing looks original. They took care of the permits and provided release of all leans from subcontractors. I decided in the middle of the project to also upgrade the kitchen floor, counters, and sink. I really believe they made up for their low estimate of the remodeling by over pricing the kitchen update. I did go ahead with their kitchen update, even though it was over priced because of the convenience of having it done all by one contractor. On our orginal visit to their office, of course we picked out the most expensive counters and sinks and from there it was a negotiation mess. We could not afford our wishes, but ended up with an overpriced but very lovely kitchen. For a remodeling I would recommended them in an instant. For a kitchen redo, Home Depot or Lowes is less expensive and more likely to recommended less expensive alternatives. That is of course, if you have the time.
