Stu's Flooring

It went great. They gave us a great price on the materials and even matched one of the competitor's quotes. They were extremely flexible with our schedule and very responsive on the phone and through e-mails. The only reason I gave them a B in quality was that after the install of the property, the door to the kitchen wouldn't close due to bringing the level of the floor up. Could have been fixed when they installed it, but they didn't bother to close the door and test it. When we called, they sent a guy back out within a day or two to fix it so we're happy with their service overall.

It went well. Dean was very helpful. The installers were nice and seemed like they knew what they were doing. Since it was just done today I cannot say if I'll be pleased with the carpet or installation a year from now. However it looks great and I would definitely use Stu's Flooring again.

Stu's came out to the house to provide an estimate, supplied valuable information on the type of carpet that would be best for our lifestyle. They were prompt and friendly with doing the estimate and finalizing it. The also were very prompt with the installation. I had a follow-up question after installation and they did everything to ensure I was satisfied with the purchase and installation.

originally, 2 sales people told us it usually averages about $5.00/sq ft. even considering the 12' width of vinyl sheeting. we saw them in early april, 2013. we mentioned to them we needed it done by end april. aside from some miscommunication from a couple of sales people and the fact that we had to go to both locations to find the right vinyl, they originally priced us at $4,000! but with some coupons, we brought the price down. three weeks later, when the vinyl finally came in, is was the wrong one! they tried to tell me that it sometimes looks different outside, etc. so we were correct it was the wrong vinyl, so they had to lay that one down temporarily and we waited almost three weeks more for the correct one! Now, we're in May, we are extremely busy, and with total exhaustion, we had the new floor put in. there were some unprofessional comments made and unprofessional work done in certain spots, i.e. edges, large bumps under vinyl, corner several bumps, seams showing with excessive glue and not straight. so they sent a repair guy, he said he didn't have the right tools! he came again, tried to fix the bumps in the corner to lay it flat. still several bumps on it. looks bad. they did fix the seam. disappointing.

We researched several flooring companies in early February and decided to go with Stu's since they had outstanding ratings and testimonies on Angie's list. Dean at the Greenfield store is who we dealt with from the beginning and was very thorough in explaining various styles and options for our new flooring. We have had this ugly , worn hardwood flooring in the past 5 years ( bought house in 2009) and decided it was high time for a makeover. We first and foremost wanted just carpeting in the living room and den but after seeing the vast array of sheet vinyl that Stu's carried , we decided a major makeover was in order as the kitchen , bathroom , foyer and pantry had 3 different colors of flooring and we wanted it all the same for better flow and overall look. We schedule the carpeting for Fri Feb 28 and the Kitchen , etc. for Mon/Tue Mar 3/4. I took off work that Fri/Mon , ( love 4 day weekends! ) and the carpet crew showed up right on time. They were very professional and had the job done in 4 hours. On Monday , the kitchen crew showed up promptly and went to work. There was a small chance the sheet vinyl project could be done in 1 day but there was no guarantee it would be. Sure enough , as it got closer to 5:00, he informed me it would take another 3 hours to finish . Since I had to be back at work Tuesday , I asked if they could return to finish job after I got home from work after 1:00. They said sure , no problem. We really appreciated them working around our own work schedule! All in all , we have no complaints. They even installed our new toilet since our old one was giving us problems and figured the timing was perfect since they had to remove toilet anyway to lay flooring. I will upload some before and after pictures to show off the gorgeous transformation of our flooring. We have nothing but praise for Stu's and would use them again in a heartbeat.

The gentleman that came out to do carpeting on our stairs did a fabulous job. Because what happened is, this is an old house and someone had cut their tools in the stairs. We didn't know because it was covered with carpeting and so we had to use some lace to cover those and we had one Chicago style stairs where it is tuck under. So because of that, it created a problem for him to make it smooth. He worked really hard to do the Chicago and the water fall stair kind of combination. He went over and above and he did a fabulous job. I was very impressed with the gentleman who put in the carpet on our stairs. The people who did the flooring were also professional. He came in and did the work I asked him to do. They also showed up on time.

He was on time & moved stove & frig. Very polite & professional.

I met the folks at the Waukesha location several times to look over samples and take them home. They were fabulous; very helpful - providing hints about wear or whether or not a particular carpet would work well with my cats. They walked me around the show room and helped me think through my questions. Great experience working with them because I can't stand picking carpeting out - too many choices! However, they were the best. The installers arrived on time - were very professional. They did a fantastic job and cleaned up as well as vacuumed before they left. I will DEFINITELY go back to them again. They gave us a GREAT price - knocked it down from the list; no stress in having to haggle with them. What a pleasant and positive experience. Hurrah!

Lent me a very large sample of the flooring, so I could see how it would look in a basement rec-room and bathroom. Punctual and professional. No iffy subcontractors. They dealt with the issue of adhesive on the floor from the tile without whining and complaining to me, which I appreciate. Sometimes when workers run into difficulties they go on and on about the headaches of doing the work--not so with Stu's. Were thoughtful about avoiding seams. They knew what they were doing.

I was very pleased with the whole process. I designed the whole thing and they followed my directions exactly. The two young men who did the installation were delightful. They were professional and only chatted when I talked to them.

I could not have been more pleased with this company. We used the one in Greenfield. I found them on Angie's list and am sorry it took me this long to review them. They were wonderful. We learned a lot about carpeting from two sales people there. They spent ALOT of time with us! Who knew there was so much to know about carpeting?! None of the other places educated us as much as Stu's. And so then we even knew more about carpeting than we led on to going to other places afterwards to check out other carpeting places. Stu's was our first stop and after check out other options we had to go back to them. It was obvious they were the best. When we went back they were just as helpful in aiding in our selections. The installation was also smooth. We are now looking at re-carpeting our upstairs now and will definitely be going back.

I wasn't impressed. They had a very limited selection of carpets that met our specs. They said the price listed was the starting point and we could negotiate from there. Really? We set up an appt for the salesman to come out with samples and to measure. He cancelled that appt because he forgot he was off that day. Never heard from them again. Not impressed.

Workers came at stated time, Went about removing ripples and cleaned up after themselves.

I had vinyl flooring installed into a kitchen, entryway, and bathroom. I had carpeting installed in a living room, hallway, and stairs. The estimate was done a couple days after I called them. It only took the salesman about 15 minutes from the time he showed up to the time he left. Estimate was not given before he left, but was emailed to me the next day. I was able to negotiate some of the costs on the original estimate by doing some more work myself and when we came to an agreement, they planned a date for early the next week. On the day of the installation they arrived right at the beginning of the 30 minute window they provided. Once I let them in, I gave them my phone number to let me know when they were going to complete and left to get some other stuff done.I came back about 8 hours later to and they were about finished and were just doing some clean-up. Everything looked great when they were done.

From the sales guy Justin at the store to the installers Hector and Manuel- the whole experience was great! Justin was very knowledgeable about what products would work best in our home and for our specific needs. We looked for carpet at Lowe's and Home Depot and Stu's was able to compete with their pricing and I didn't have to wait 4 weeks to get carpet from the big box stores. Stu's flooring was able to install our carpet next day and the house looks wonderful!

Dean was very helpful in carpet choices and generous in allowing the samples to come home with us. Because this was a remodeling, the carpeting had to be laid on 3 different days. Each team was hardworking and neat. The work on the wrapped stairs is perfect. I just wish they would vacuum the new carpet after they lay it.

It went fine. They were great. Everything was great. They were quick. We liked the flooring. They did a great job in putting it down. They did an excellent work for us. We were very happy with it.

Originally got a quote two years ago but things came up that prevented us from redoing the floor. Company still had our estimate on file, and gave us a new estimate reflecting only the change in material cost. Installation guys were in and out in under 5 hours. Left NOTHING behind, quality of cleanup after job was only surpassed by the quality of their work. Lots of funky 45degree angles around cabinet trim, very odd shaped back closet. They did my install, approximately 275 sq ft with only one seam, and that was in the back closet where NOONE will ever see it. Fantastic service from start to finish.

We had our 260sq foot kitchen done in hardwood floors. We had our old ceramic tiles torn out and replaced with hardwood. I had checked several companies on Angie's list and Stu's had many great reviews. Their office was close by so we went in. We were greeted nicely as we came in. Our salesman Dean was very knowledgeable on all types of wood floors, he goes into great detail, but only if you want to hear it, we did. We never got the feeling that he was pushing one product over another, after spending almost an hour at the store he allowed us to take some large samples home to see what best matched our decor. After deciding on Stu's we went in and paid about half the bill, Dean said that they would call us with a start date, not sure what happened here but we ended up calling them, and at that time they said it would be a two to three day project to start on a Thursday. We again had to call back with a start time, they said it would be between 8 - 8:30 and they were prompt at 8:00. I had figured Thursday would be tear out day and Friday install day and any touch ups would be Saturday. Well the two installers worked hard and fast and had asked my wife how long they could work, she said as long as they want to. Well they rapped it up about 7:00p.m. and to our delight the entire project, torn up floor, new floor installed was complete. They came back Friday at 9:30 which again was right on schedule to install the baseboards and some final touch up by 10:30 the project was complete. A few hiccups did occur. First we were quoted a price, but once they began the project it was determined that a new sub-floor would have to be put in, the installers gave us a price, only to find out it was about twice the amount installer told us, and felt we didn't have much choice but to pay it, then after they were done and gone we noticed something. We got the wrong floor. We had taken pictures of the samples to show family members, well on the samples it shows a color number we were going with the lighter of the two floors. After bringing the pictures up we thought the floors were darker as they are two toned some more blond than others, we looked at the quote reciept and read the color number. Then looked at the number on the pictures and we had the color number for the darker floor. As of this review we have not discussed this with Stu. The dark floor for us turned out to be the better of the two choices, so it worked out, but if you are really set on a color I would verify what they are installing is what you want, this could have be a major mistake. Overall all the work the installers did was perfect, I have not come across with one flaw, they left about a box of wood incase we ever have to replace a piece the told us how to move the appliances back in without scratching the floors, we choose to move the appliances ourselves as they charge for this, they also cut some doors and charged for that as well. I would recommend them to anyone, the installers were polite worked hard and fast, about the only thing was the mix up in color and the fact they were higher on price for the sub-floor I did feel that because they were higher, they should have not charged us for the cutting of the doors, and maybe move the appliances back free of charge, I didn't ask and they didn't offer so maybe my fault. We will be stopping in to discuss the mix up in color, only to let them know that this might be something they should double check in the future because again it could have been a major mistake.

They were very professional and made sure they took care of everything.

Our experience with Stu's Flooring was first-rate from the time my wife and I visited the showroom. We came into the store with the intention of purchasing ceramic tille but the salesperson explained the virtues of DuraCeramic. By offering this suggestion the cost of material was significantly reduced. The installation was handled very professionally. The two gentlemen working on the project were very punctual and actually finished the job ahead of schedule. After they left I noticed that one of the tiles installed behind the toilet was a slightly different color than the others. It turned out that particular tile was mistakenly taken from the batch used in the second bathroom (we had chosen very similar colors but there were subtle differences between the two). I notified the Greenfield store and, with no questions asked, they scheduled someone to come back in a couple of days. The error was rectified and I could not tell that a "patch" had been added. Our floors are quiet, comfortable and very low-maintenance. We could not be happier. The next time we need new flooring the first company we will call will be Stu's!
