+ -1 moreThe technician told me that I would receive a report containing their findings within 24 hours, but I had to call them 10 days later when the report still hadn't come. However, the company did put the report in the mail the same day that I called. Additionally, the employees of Intec were professional and polite, the report contained helpful information, and the technician gave me an overview of what he would do before actually starting the work which I appreciated.

+ -1 moreThey were able to come out within a week after purchasing the deal. The technician spent about two or three hours on the job. He had temperature sensors that he could hold up to determine how insulated an area was. The cost for the deal was well worth the service. We haven’t gone ahead with the work yet that they recommended. They were very thorough and concise. They described exactly what needed to be done in terms of insulation. They were very professional and did an excellent job.

+ -1 moreWent fine, was hoping for more information about leaky doors/windows or other holes in house. But this company is an insulation company so they only look at insulation. Not their fault, but maybe a company that doesn't only do insulation would have spotted actual holes in the house.

+ -1 moreEverything went well. They brought a 2 person team, so the work was done quicker that we expected. We had 2 houses done on the same day and it only took them a little over an hour per house. We had an estimate emailed to us the next morning. The estimates were broken down well by task, so we still have to determine what work we will have done. We may wait until later in the year since the heating season is about over.

He also answered our numerous questions with obvious knowledge regarding home efficiency and explained the process with great detail. We received an e-mailed quote from Elvis within two days of his inspection and the quote was very comprehensive and well written. I spoke with Elvis via telephone, as there were a couple of questions regarding the proposed services. He was immediately responsive and attentive. My husband and I are still mulling over the quote (which Elvis stated could be revised very quickly), as we want to be more energy efficient and still realize cost effectiveness. It is very likely that we will be hiring Intec in the near future, to perform the quality services we anticipate will make a positive energy difference in our home. + 0 moreMy overall experience with them was excellent. Their work was wonderful. They were there when they said they would be. They kept me informed. They were reliable. They were detailed, told me exactly what was going to happen and when it was going to happen. They were very neat and respectful of my property. They were honest as well, because they had quoted me a price at one time and they found out that I already had some of these things up in the attic and so they lowered the bill. So, I found them to be very very honest. Their price was comparable to others. Regarding quality, there were somethings that I had found after they had gone and they sent people out right away on the weekend to take care of it as soon as I had found it. Otherwise their quality was fine. They were responsive to come and do that. They were always early. I would like to see if they could insulate the garage, so yes I would use them again.
Description of Work: Intec coordinated with the water heater and they coordinated with the electrician to come and wire everything, and they had done insulation in the attic and they had blown insulation in the walls for me. They also fixed some things that they found were not up to the code, etc.

+ -1 moreExcellent. We went through the ME2, Milwaukee Energy Efficiency program. They were recommended by Angie's list, ME2 and friends from work. They did the job right the first time so when the ME2 people came back, there were no re-dos on any of the parts of our work.

+ 0 moreI am was pretty happy with the insulation work that InTech did. The installers were pretty careful to use tape and tarp to keep the mess inside to a minimum. There was one problem with the insulation. I called the InTech office before the workers were scheduled to come, and asked if there was anything that I needed to do before they came, as I furniture and pictures on the wall. I was told that there was nothing that I needed to do - that the workers would move what was necessary. When the workers came, they looked around and said that they would be back the next week, since I had not moved anything so they could work. The kitchen exhaust fan switch works well, but I need a ladder to reach the spot where they put the switch. I use a piece of wood to reach it instead. The ventilating fan works well. I am not happy at all with the work or consultation done on the sky light. The gentleman who came from InTech to give me an estimate on this work looked me square in the face and told me that there was no need for me to remove the sky light which is what I wanted to have done. He told me that there was no wood rot there and so no need to remove the sky light. He also told me that he would fix the glass in the sky light which was cracked in two. I wanted to believe him, so I did. More fool me. I paid $375 for InTech to put roofing cement around the exterior of the sky light and the chimney which was good. I also paid for InTech to put clear sealant across the glass in the sky light which was cracked in two. I have now paid $375 to have that gentleman from InTech lie to my face about the wood rot and broken glass. That money could have gone toward a correct solution. Instead, I get to look out my skylight around the glued together cracked glass. I was looking to get my roof replaced in 2014 and was told that InTech could do that work as well. Because of my experience with that one gentleman from InTech, I would never consider using them for work again, especially roofing.
Description of Work: InTech insulated my house from the inside, as the outside was stucco, from the basement to the attic. They also installed a kitchen exhaust fan, a ventilating fan, and did work on a sky light in the roof.

+ -1 moreIt didn't go well for me, everybody at Intec seemed friendly and professional until the end.... the professionalism disappeared? This company appears to be incredibly busy because of all the gov't assistant jobs they are getting. Maybe after all the programs are over they will come down to earth and learn the importance of customer service!!!! To lead a customer on and on and then drop them, is NOT the way any customer should be treated. They probably have lots of happy customers and I wish I could have been writing nothing but good things!
Description of Work: Intec made two visits to my home to look at insulating, air sealing and other energy saving recommendations last winter We called them following the strong recommendations of a ME2 energy auditor, the ME2 program and a neighbor. so I really looked forward to doing business with them. We didn't push the fact that a written estimate never came because summer was on its way and the urgency wasn't at the top of our list. Months later, I called for to see if they were still interested. They couldn't find our record but said they would talk to Sergio (the estimator) and get back in touch, two weeks passed and I had to contact them because I heard nothing back. It told a few more days and they found the estimate and still never sent it. Sergio did say he didn't send it because he was waiting for me to do several tasks prior to having them come in. My tasks were completed so I asked for the written estimate. Which Intec still never sent?? While talking to Stacey at the ME2 program I told her that I wasn't getting anywhere, that I needed to find another company. I couldn't even get a written estimate, this surprised her because she had a copy, so she forwarded it to me. OK I'll look it over put all the communication issues behind me move forward. The estimate was filled with tasks that weren't 100% accurate (and this was after much discussion and letting them know certain tasks were done). After taking the time to fine tune it on my end, I requested one more visit to get everything right. ( I was ready to sign a contract with them). The kicker was it was now the third week of Aug and the rebate dead line was Sept 1 (ME2 Energy Program) and time was a major concern and everything was really dragging on there end. Intec assured me they had the time for my project before the deadline and we made a appointment for Elvis to come by the following day, to fine tune the estimate. One hour, passed and I got a call telling me that Elvis had told her in on my history (what history, the fact that I have a 100 year old home with some complexities) and during that hour, they filled there calendar for the following week (the slots that I was just assured they had open??). They were SORRY?? This left me speachless, I wasted hours of time with them andI was back to square one with less than a week to go. I was able to find another very high priced (very good quality) company to come in to do the work I had planned to do with them.

+ -1 moreInTec was recommended to us through Me2 and they had a competitive bid with knowledgeable service staff. They were a little hard to get a hold of sometimes but their work looks great. It helped that we had several other estimates to compare from and add ideas and items onto the contract that they did not come up with. They were super quick about getting the work done. The only complaint would be that I had to have them come back to straighten up a few things and managed to disconnect our downspout and not reconnect it before leaving. Great service overall for a good price.
Description of Work: They completely insulated and air sealed our 2 story house with finished attic.

+ -1 moreI emailed this company as one of the recommended Me2 contractors. They did not respond. When I mentioned it to my advocate, she suggested that I try the other email which was for the son. He responded promptly. He came for an estimate as scheduled. He explained everthing to me and looked at everything thoroughly. They have been in business for quite awhile and seemed very knowledgeable, but their estimate was much more than others we had contacted, so we did not use them.
Description of Work: Attic, sidewall and kneewall insulation as well as bathroom fan.

+ -1 moreI chose another company. Intec didn't charge me for the estimate. In Milwaukee, we have this program called the Me2 program, the Milwaukee energy efficiency program. You can get rebates from the city and then from the state if you insulate in your home or make some energy changes. You would have to use their contractors on their list. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that quite a few of them that were on their list were actually on Angie's List as well. I chose two to get estimates from and then I decided to go with the other company. The guy from Intec was very professional. He covered everything really well. He spent a real long time going through the house with me. In this program you have to have everything broken down. He provided a very detailed estimate. He gave me a quote for the price and it was a fair price. The reason that I chose the other company was because the other company gave me some alternatives that would keep my crawl spaces that I use for storage at a more level temperature. I would recommend getting an estimate from Intec.

+ -1 moreExcellent customer service. Used these guys before many years ago when they were a bit smaller company. The job overall went well. There was a small bit of overspray in a few areas that was a bear to clean up but nothing major. The only complaint I have is they cut into two or three Romex electrical cables feeding various things in the roughed-in walls. Fortunately I'm an electrician. They did take a little off the total bill but still annoying none the less. But like i said earlier, I wouldnt hesitate using their services again
