GREG'S REFINISHING

This supplier never responded to my outreach to them to provide a quote. Therefore, I'm guessing they don't want my business.

I own a dining set consisting of five chairs, a table and a credenza. I purchased the set from a co-worker who got it from her parents years back when they downsized. I am guessing the set is at least fifty years old, but is a quality set originally made by R-Way Furniture based in Sheboygan Wisconsin. The table and credenza still look very good but the chairs got to looking pretty bad and got "rickety" and worn over time. I was thinking of replacing the entire set, but it is hard to find something of like quality today. After looking into my options, I decided to restore the chairs. The work Greg's did was outstanding. The chairs look like new and are solid again. When reupholstered, new padding was put in making them really comfortable in addtion to being "full" looking again. Greg's restained them to match the other pieces very well. Realize opting to restore old pieces like this will require time consuming effort and as a result is pretty expensive. Greg's quote was nearly half of another one I received and I could not imagine a better result. Going this route was way better than trying to replace these pieces with something brand new or replacing the entire set with some of the crap that is out there today. I have no regrets at all for going this route. Greg's has moved from State Street to 3939 West McKinley Ave, 53208. I highly recommend considering them if you have a project in mind.

The desk, especially the top, was in terrible shape so I wasn't expecting it to be done "as good as new." I was amazed at how well it turned out. It looked perfect and I couldn't be happier.

I contacted Greg via e-mail to get information about refinishing the Maple kitchen table that had been my parents. He called the next day, and from the description I had given, he told me all about the table and the history of the style. He was able to pick it up that day and offered a loaner table/chairs. I was able to go to the shop once they were stripped to try out different stains, and explain the type of gloss I wanted for the finish. A couple of the chairs needed to be re-glued, and that was taken care of. They just delivered the set and it is beautiful! Lots of information about how well made my set is in comparison to similar tables they've seen. They were really impressed with how well the table was made. It said to me that they appreciate fine workmanship.

Greg came to the house and gave me a quote on refinishing my dining room chairs. I wanted them a little darker to better match the color of the table. I agreed on the quoted price and he took the chairs with him. I paid half down at the time. He stripped and refinished the chairs, re-glued them, and reupholstered the seats with some fabric I had purchased years earlier. This was a very old dining room set that had seen better days, and the chairs had faded. Greg contacted me when the work was done and made arrangements for the chairs to be delivered. He and his employee brought the chairs at the agreed upon time. The work was fantastic. One chair had a large chip out of the wood in back and I still can't find which chair that was. I had no idea he'd even be able to repair that. I showed them a few other pieces I'd like to have refinished and got quotes on those for future projects. Both men were very friendly and easy to talk to. I look forward to working with them again in the future.

Greg's striped them to bare wood that were gorgeous striped. I provided 2 drawers from the secretary desk purchased 58 yrs ago in the same furniture collection. Today I picked up the finished product WOW. They perfectly matched the stain to the original finish. The job was done when they said it would be and to the quality I expected. I will recommend them and I would use them again without hesitation.

I had a very positive experience with Greg's Refinishing and would highly recommend them. They were very courteous, professional and did an excellent job repairing my dresser drawer. The dresser had belonged to my grandma and held sentimental value. I appreciate the time and care they put into the job.

We took two chair bottoms in to be inspected. We reviewed the options with them and decided to select new material and have all 6 chairs redone. They ordered the materials and called within days to have us bring the other 4 chair seats. The work was again done within DAYS! Very nicely done. Extremely nice folks.

Talked to them on the phone. Got directions. Brought in the table. They gave me a quote and told me when they'd be done. They called before the due date and said they were done. Offered to deliver the table to my home. They did a beautiful job with the table and final price was exactly what they had quoted.

The experience was great and their work was beautiful. They met with me, clarified my wishes, discussed options, and gave a fair estimate of cost and expense. They invited me to come in and survey the progress of what they'd done at each stage of the work refinishing the chairs. They were very friendly and informative, showing me the staining options and updating me in a timely way. They delivered the chairs as promised, on time. They offered to do a home delivery. They were much less expensive than a local competitor who advertises lots and has a much larger shop and is listed in a national registry and much more friendly, too. I would definitely rate Greg and his crew with an A for customer service and overall quality.

The experience was very positive. Greg and his crew were very knowledgeable and polite. They gave me an accurate estimate and time frame for completion. I was very pleased with how the rockers turned out.

They did a gorgeous job. They were pleasant to work with. They are a local business with a very personal touch, and it seemed like they really go out of their way to please their customers. The prices were also very reasonable, and we were very pleased with their service.

Both were completed impeccably (the cabinet actually had a small label inside which was carefully preserved). The furniture was delivered at no extra charge just in time for a holiday party.

I had an inexpensive 25 year old solid wood factory-made rocking chair that wasn't fine furniture but had a lot of sentimental value. It was in poor condition and needed at least one spindle replaced and joints re-glued in addition to being refinished. I took it to the shop and had Greg look at it. He quoted $475 to refinish it and replace the broken spindle and re-glue any loose joints. He said it would take a "month to a month and a half". It took eight weeks. They did a good job on a nothing-special piece of furniture and turned something embarrassing that was languishing in my basement into something I can now happily place anywhere in my home. Greg and Tom (who both did work on the piece) were very pleasant to deal with. They each carried the rocking chair between my car and their shop just steps away. My only problems with them are that their hours (short hours on Saturdays and only 7-3:30 weekdays) made it a little difficult for me to pick-up my piece, and they are a little hard to find. When you see their sign on State Street, you have to enter the parking lot and go quite a ways toward the back, and their entry door isn't well marked. But I was pleased with their work and would recommend them.

Did an adequate job but cost was double what I had paid elsewhere in the past. Facility was disorganized and filthy.

Greg and team completed the work on time and even sanded the interior cedar to refresh the odor. It looked stunning.

Greg and his staff were very professional. They did great work and the dining set looks fabulous. We are very happy.

He did a good job. He came and gave an estimate. He picked up the pieces and had them ready when he said he would.

Don't bother calling and wasting your time. They won't follow through, anyway.

The rocking chair had a foam cushion which was deteriorating and the sewing cabinet had seen better days. Both are nice pieces of furniture we will keep, even as me may downsize in the future. I believe we found Greg's on Angie's List and were wowed by their website. They are a great family operation, who we highly recommend!
