David Leech is a top quality craftsman! He fully repaired and restored my grandparents’ antique oak draw leaf dining table and chairs. He even crafted a new mechanism to enable the leaves to smoothly extend and retract. The staining, clear coat and beautiful beeswax polish is exquisite. This furniture has a particularly meaningful place in my family’s heart, given it’s honored place at our little summer cottage on Lake Erie. So many loving memories now amplified by this beautiful workmanship. Thank you so much, David!

We were thrilled with the final result. Dave repaired a small cherry table that was a family heirloom that I had just inherited. It had been made by hand and nothing was square. He had to disassemble the table, re-glue the loose legs, and then reassemble the table. He then polished the wood with beeswax. The top of the coffee table was badly scratched and water stained. He took it entirely apart, sanded down the pieces, stained the pieces in a darker color, and then reassembled the table and also polished it with beeswax. The stain he chose really highlighted the grain in the wood. We are thrilled with the final products. We highly recommend Dave to anyone who is looking for someone to refinish wood furniture.

In February I had David refinish a dining room table that had really been neglected and had lots of water damage. The table had belonged to my parents and was of great sentimental value to me. It had a good deal of water damage and had been neglected for a long time. David's work was outstanding. The end result nearly took my breath away. The table is beautiful and I have received many compliments. My neighbors were so impressed they gave him a piece of furniture to refinish for them. David gave me a quote based on pictures I texted to him and he was able to stick to that quote. During the refinishing process, he took pictures and sent them to me. The table was done in less than a week. I also gave him dining room chairs to repair and clean up. David is very consciousness, courteous and caring and just does a great job. I am so thankful to have found him. I highly recommend him.

David is a knowledgeable and skillful craftsman who takes pride in his work. He talked with us at the start of the project to ascertain what our desires were. He kept us informed via texts and photos of his progress. The refinished secretary desk is gorgeous, and we're quite happy.

Dave was easy to work with. Responded right away and sent pictures from his workshop during the repair process Good Communicator and excellent craftsman! Chairs came out like Brand New and are now sturdier than ever.

Dave recently repaired a cherished chair. He made the entire process very easy and kept me updated every step of the way. When he returned the chair, I thought he'd reinforced it with extra wood because it seemed so much heavier, but he hadn't. It was just that his repairs had made it more stable and thus had made it seem more solid all the way around. This is a simple chair that I picked up at an antique store a few years ago, but I really like it, and I'm so glad Dave was able to repair it for us. We're once again able to sink down into it without fear of it collapsing, and I'm grateful to him for his attention to detail and expertise.

The desk and chair turned out beautiful. David was quick to respond and schedule pick up. He kept me informed of the progress along the way with pictures. David delivered the desk and chair. The cost ended up being less than the estimate once he saw it.

David Leach was very professional. He provided frequent updates along with pictures, which I appreciated. He was very accommodating and I was able to visit the shop to ensure the color was to my liking. He is also willing to come out to complete any touch up work. I was 100% pleased with the finished product. Highly recommend.

It was not an antique or family heirloom, but we were sentimental about it and wanted to remake it to fit in our new, modern space. The Victorian fan was removed from the top, and Dave did a beautiful job refinishing and painting the exterior a gray shade we selected and the interior shelves white.There are mirrors at the back of the cabinet interior, so Dave had to be super careful and accurate in all his efforts. It looks so sharp in our new space and very stylish with contemporary pewter toned hardware. We will definitely use Dave again. His work is beautiful and his craftmanship is evident.

Dave was fantastic. His work is wonderful. He was very open to design input and flexible when there were design changes. He also came up with creative solutions to the little challenges that always pop-up on projects like this (work around in wall outlets, hiding computer cables, etc... He was very focused on satisfying us and took the time (and return trips) to deliver a 100% complete project. He always responded to texts and shared status photos while he was building the cabinets in his shop. I will absolutely use him again for future projects.

The project went great and hiring David was the smart and best decision. He provides routine updates along with pictures of the work being complete. I could tell he takes great pride in his work, and he should. I am very pleased with the work he completed and I would hire him for any other future projects. Dave did a great job, even going beyond just the visible repairs and tested all joints and did some touch-up paint too!

I approached Dave with a small project involving the building of a custom barbecue table that attaches to my Weber grill. He designed and built a quality piece at a fair price. I would gladly do business with this gentleman again.

Dave is very professional in his work. He took the stain off (golden color) and restained to a nice brown that I picked out. The table and chairs turned out just as I expected. I'm very pleased with his work.

Dave was responsive to our request and very attentive to detail. He was professional, easy to work with, and built two beautiful cabinets that are exactly what we wanted. We are now hiring Dave to build cabinets in our family room!

It came out beautiful - it took the removal of two coats of paint and some old stain, re-staining and polishing and its back to what I imagine was its former glory. David had to take it completely apart and put it back together. He took a lot of care with this important family heirloom and I'm loving it! It took him a little longer than he thought but it was done within 3 weeks which was fine with me.

Initially, we went to angieslist to review WOOD restoration/repair services. We called and described the problem and later followed up with a picture. Mr. Leech responded quickly both by phone and computer. He quoted a price of $45 after examining photo and assured us this was a common problem. This was a relief because this was an area we knew nothing about and didn't want to trust our valuable antique to just anybody. His pickup and delivery price sounded very reasonable however we did the transfer ourselves. We brought the piece on a Friday, he said he would have it done on Sunday and he kept his word. When we picked up the piece we found not only had he repaired the broken leg, but he repaired other aspects of the piece as well. We found his work to be above our expectations. We found him to be a very pleasant business owner and craftsman. Mr. Leech was courteous and professional at all times. We found his price very reasonable for a craftsman of his caliber/experience.

Both projects moved along nicely meeting all agreed upon time frames. I know a little about refinishing and know the highest standards were met. The owner, Dave, kept me informed via phone and text. I would not hesitate to employ Custom Woodworking on my next project.

We were invited into Dave's shop and I was impressed with it's organization! It was easy for us to visualize what the outcome would be on the desk. So Dave began. As a nice touch he'd text pictures of the desk's progress. The finished desk was a wonderful restoration!! Dave's attention to detail was very noticeable. Since this piece we have given Dave more projects.

Excellent. David gave an approximate estimate from pictures over the phone, and then came, picked up the buffet, gave an exact price and returned the buffet within a week. The price was much less than other estimates. I highly recommend getting an estimate from David before using an alternate service provider.

Dave is a very laid-back, sincere, and friendly person. He is obviously talented and cares about and takes pride in his work. He had pictures of what the chair looked like when he peeled back the upholstery to make the repair. He explained exactly what he found and what he did to fix it. Dave seems to be very honest and fair, and I will not hesitate to bring work back his way.
