Description of Work: Empire did everything in a very smooth, timely and professional manner, and offered great guarantees on their product. One thing you should do during your discussions with them is to clarify what you expect them to do in the way of moving furniture and appliances, and exactly where you want each type of flooring applied (including closets and nooks).

Description of Work: They did flooring at our home. It was an awesome job. I recommend them too anyone!

Description of Work: They installed laminate flooring on the main floor of our house. One problem came up when the installers arrived with putting flooring in our bathroom. It would have been nice if the salesman had been able to foresee it, but it was a minor issue for us. The work was all done in one day. A small mess was left outside but the inside looked great. Things weren't perfect, but we considered the work done well at a good price with service that was good overall.

Description of Work: I paid in full prior to installation. Installer gets to my home on date agreed upon without product ordered, says can not do floor as sold to me. I go with what installer recommendations at same price, we set date. Email arrives with different date than agreed upon. Strange that installer has sales samples and doesn't have product and even after setting up a new schedule they don't seem to follow through. Not professional and seems like a bait and switch! I called and stopped this contract and waiting for full refund.

Description of Work: A very nice man came to the house and brought a few samples of carpet -- not a huge selection. I chose something, and the two guys who drove up from Chicago worked their BUNS off installing right away. I scurried rapidly to vacuum the dust and crud left when old carpet was removed. New stuff is not quite the quality I hope for, but it'll do until we sell the house. Very lush pad.

Description of Work: removed carpetand installed hardwood in livingroom and hallway, started about 8am and finished by 2pm, moved furniture as needed and cleaned up before leaving.

Description of Work: We purchased/installed viny tile in our kitchen and two bathrooms. We also purchased/installed carpeting for an upstairs hallway, living room stairs, and basement stairs. We puchased/installed brazilian cherry floors in our living room, den, and hallway. Different teams of installers installed carpeting, tile, and hardwood. The carpeting and tile product and installations went well. However, the hardwood installation quality was well below industry standards. The team that installed the floors did not have the correct equipment. Nick, the installer left without telling me why and where he was going. He was gone for at least an hour and a half. He left his father and nephew "in charge". When he returned I questioned him about this. He said he was not able to nail the floors in. He was breaking and splitting too many boards. He called someone to get a "cleat gun". The installation was then completed about 10 pm that night. The next day I noticed glue on my walls, furniture, and most of the newly installed floor boards. It seemed to me that some or most of the boards were probably glued in which I know to be a "no no". I also found about 4 broken boards. I called customer service to have someone come out to inspect and fix the damaged boards.CS was responsive and did send someone out. The inspector also thought that the boards were probably glued and he did paint over the glue on the walls He also did some patching of damaged drywall where my living room railing had been removed from a wall and put back sloppily. I really was upset with this whole process at this point and I requested to have the floor reinstalled which Empire agreed to do. I eventually compromised. I asked for competent installers to come in and go through my flooring board by board. Two men and their boss showed up. They were very professional. They removed most of the glue from the floors and they replaced the broken boards. Their boss just basically watched them. I was not sure why he was there other than to "contain costs" related to this repair. All in all, be aware that Empire uses different teams of installers for their different products and, depending on location and availability, individual worker competence may not be consistent.

Description of Work: INSTALLED CARPETING IN LIVING/DINING ROOM, AN UPSTAIRS HALLWAY AND THE MASTER BEDROOM.

Description of Work: THEY CARPETED MY NEW STAIRS TO MATCH THE CARPET IN THE FAMILY ROOM. I HAD JUST HAD MY STAIRS MOVED TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION.

Description of Work: INSTALLED CARPET IN TWO ROOMS AND A CLOSET, AND INSTALLED A PERGO STYLE FLOOR IN A LARGE BATHROOM.
