It only took him a few minutes to fix the toilet. Then, he went to the basement to inspect a pretty major leak we had. He discovered that our dehumidifier was not working. He found out what was wrong, and fixed! Grade A across the board.

I had purchased the $29 plumbing service call plus whole house plumbing inspection. I called for an appointment and Paul came out right away. Paul fixed a leaky kitchen sink problem and leaking toliet problem. The great part was he was explaining and showing everything he was doing while fixing the problems. He then checked all my plumbing areas to make sure everything was working correctly. He made a couple of suggestions of things for me to do regarding the hot water heater and the sump pump. I liked that he took his time and answered any of my questions.

Show up on time spent the whole two hours working,if I have a problem in future,will call him were very happy with his work and price.

When I first called I was not able to schedule an appointment. They just took my information down but no one ever called me back and the person on the phone was not knowledgable about the Angie's List promotion. The second time I called back I just told them specifically that I needed to schedule an appt. and then I explained the whole Angie's List thing to them afterwards. They showed up on time and completed the repairs in an excellent fashion. The additional charge for parts and labor was reasonable. I have hired plumpers before and I know labor costs can be pretty high. I felt they gave me a fair price and did quality work. My only complaint is that it seemed a little more difficult to actually schedule the work than I am used to dealing with. Many companies who I have hired through Angie's List promotions actually contacted me first. The plumber was very professional though. Overall a B+

Paul wasn't able to clear my clog the first time and went back to the shop for another tool. After continously attempting to unclog my line he wasn't able to successfully clear it but he did pull out a bunch of roots. He called the city for me the next day to find out where my stub-out was located within my yard since he had a 103ft of cable out and my house is only about 30 feet from the street. He then returned with another plumber and a hydrojet machine. After many attempts, they were able to remove the clog. They both were very nice and explained everything in detail to me and told me what I can do to prevent this from happening again in the future. Even though my home warranty wouldn't cover the costs because of roots, I was very thankful for Paul's help throughout the week and will continue to call Carl's Plumbing for any future needs.

He looked at our disposal and replaced it all in the same visit. He was very prompt and pleasant. He is a competent plumber.

It went smoothly, he wasn't able to tell me the cost before hand which made me really nervous. Because the home warranty had called and asked them to come (which did not cover the cost) they wouldn't allow me to use an angie's list coupon because it wasn't mentioned when the home warranty people called them. A month and a half later the drain is backing up again. I called them and asked what happened-there is no way the roots could be blocking off the pipe less then 2 months later. They said they could come out with a camera and a snake for a higher cost. They do not stand behind their work and on the phone talked around what the plumber said when he first serviced the drain. I strongly recommend not using this company.

We noticed a leak from the bottom of the hot water heater and some rusty water flowing out. We called Carl's in the morning and he got someone out right away. He immediately recognized that the bottom was rusting out and that the heater had to be replaced. He thought it was out of warranty, but still called the manufacturer to see if it was covered (it wasn't). The plumber that came out said he had to run out to get the new water heater and would be back in an hour or so. It took him a bit longer than that, actually was a few hours, but when he came back, he got right to work. The removal and replacement was very quick and seemed to be done very well. They even offered to take care of the permit required when a new water heater is installed (at cost). Overall, the service was great. The price was also $200-300 less than a couple other plumbers I called.

This was through my home owners warranty. A lot of rusty metal fell on the carpet. He wanted to vacuum it up with our vacuum. I call them and they told me off. It was a bad experience. MY carpet is still stained.

Plumber arrived on time and said the leak was caused by a pipe that comes out of the garbage disposal. He said the pipe was too short and he needed to cut a new piece and put it on and that should fix the problem so he did so. This process took less than 30 minutes and I paid $139.92 to the plumber who appeared to be in quite a hurry. An hour later I was at work and my wife called to tell me the sink was leaking again, this time more so. She called Carl's after she hung up with me and the same plumber arrived within an hour. My wife called me and said he wanted to charge us again for a new service call plus the price for a new garbage disposal because now he said the disposal was the cause. I instructed my wife to let him know that if the disposal was indeed the problem he could install one and we would pay for the part but we would not pay for another service call because the original $139.92 should be applied since it was not fixed properly the first time. I called my wife back a little while later and she said the plumber was working under the sink and that he did not seem happy after she relayed my last message. I asked to speak with him so she put him on the phone. He was very short and said the disposal was on it's last legs but he fixed the leak, my wife was put back on the phone. My wife stated to me that is not what he told her just minutes before I called and he had told her the disposal was done and must be replaced. I told her not to worry and let him finish and leave. Later that night my wife informed me that once the plumber was done he said, "I am not going to charge you for coming back out, and I threw in a metal piece to hold the pipe on tight for free." My wife stated she thanked him and further told him that we would not have paid him to return anyways, the plumber left. I will never use Carl's again, I understand that sometimes things don't get fixed the first time but to try and charge twice for the same problem is not good practice. I can not help to say that I think if I would have been home the second time things would have went better... was he trying to charge twice because he thought a woman would not know better? Well not my wife, she's smarter than that. I must add that a couple of years ago a toilet was leaking because the base was loose, Carl's came out, fixed it, and had to later return because it was leaking again. Not a good pattern.

I was in a jam because it was a Holiday weekend and my tenants were expecting company for the weekend., I needed service right away and was not able to reach the person who usually takes care of my plumbing needs. Carl's Plumbing had someone answering the phones, and I had a call back from a plumber very rapidly with a time that he would be there. He arrived within a few hours of calling, and took care of the problem.

Initially took longer than anticipated because they couldn't get behind the refrigerator (they suggested that we needed to hire someone to move it). Once it was moved, they returned (did not have to pay a second "service fee"), found the problem and fixed it promptly.

Called in the morning when I doscovered that my water heater pilot light had gone out overnight and would not remain lit, despite multiple attempts. They were very friendly on the phone and had someone out to my house in under 2 hours. The tech was very friendly, professional and explained everything he was doing in much detail. Excellent response time, service and a very fair price. Great experience from start to finish.

I still have the problem, but it is a mystery to many.

Great crew of two worked non stop the entire day. Some of the spots they had to go in were tight but they got it done and tested everything to be sure there were no leaks.

Very well. The owner was responsive and cooperative. The crew worked well, efficiently and respectful to my needs and concerns.

I have used them prior to this and know they are reliable etc. They came out a little after 1P and for being the Friday before Memorial day I was happy they could make it. Pipe was replaced and I will be calling for estimate to replace the last of this galvanized we have copper for the hot. So glad we were home yet....yikes! So glad Carl is reliable and helpful. They have done drain cleaning and replaced our hot water tank and pipes. Great people very reasonably priced!

Very personable and professional. Todd explained everything and answered our questions. He did his job well and efficiently. This is the second time we have had Todd from Carl's Plumbing and highly recommend him!

Difficult blockage to clear. Plumber showed up on time and did a nice clean job. Appreciate prompt work done in bad weather just before having holiday company.

The work went fine. The work was performed quickly and efficiently. Only grievance was that the plumber inadvertently dislodged an A/C drain hose from the floor drain resulting in a large puddle on the floor.

We were very pleased with the work. I called Carl's at about 7:00 at night not knowing if anyone would answer at that time. But they did, and said they could have someone at the house first thing in the morning. Since we got the water shut off, that was fine. Gordon arrived at 8:45, and completed the work both professionally and quickly. He replaced a portion of the pipe and brought our faucet up to code. The cost was reasonable compared to some other plumbers we have used. It seemed fair. We will definitely call Carl's again if we need work done.

At first he did not call back for 10 days.

This report is a continuation of a previous report. The owner called us prior to another contractor began and requested an opportunity to address deficiencies from a week before. We agreed. The work was significantly more than originally planned but we have every reason to believe that it will fix the problem. We also were credited the cost of the prior work.
