Simply put, they did not have the right tools to do the job. I had to hire another plumber with a heftier snake who cleared the drain.

On September 22nd we put in a claim with HSA who dispatched Carl?s Plumbing. There was a problem with a leaky sink in the kitchen, and bathroom and water heater down in the basement and some leaky faucets outside. We worked with Chris, who seemed like a very nice guy, unfortunately though he never actually got the water heater, bathroom sink, or outside faucets repaired, he did do a temporary fix on the kitchen sink that lasted a couple of days. Week after week we wouldn?t hear from him, I always had to call eventually he would call back and we would setup a time to come over and do the work that time would come and go. These no calls, no shows happened several times. I Know he claims to be having problems finding a part for the water heater, and I am sure that was true, but after two months of this, I called HSA to intervene. After I made the call Chris did come and fix the sink (which at this point had been out of order for almost two months). He was very apologetic, and said he was close to getting the correct parts for the water heater. Again weeks passed, and my wife spoke to him on Wednesday 12/3, he stated he finally had the part and would call and be over on that Friday. That was almost two weeks ago and we still have heard nothing. Yesterday I called HSA and they assigned a new vendor. On December 22nd this would have been going on for three months. Based on my very frustrating experience, I cannot recommend Carl?s plumbing. While I understand some things are more difficult and parts can be hard to find, the lack of consistent communication only made a bad situation worse, and three months is just too long.

Referred to them through HMS, the guy who called me accused me of doing something wrong and said pipe joints just don't come apart on their own. He said that he called HMS and they denied the claim without ever looking at it. When I contacted HMS they stated that the plumber was not following protocol that he was supposed to come out and do an assessment and that they had not denied the claim. It was clear he didn't want to do the job because he was complaining about having to come from Mukgwanago.

It was good. He was prompt, pleasant and professional. He also was helpful because he indicated how important the real things were. I like them, I like the person who came out. The price seems high on doing that. He didn't tell us the price before indicating what he would recommend having done and I did asked him that but before authorizing him, I did find that. I'm pretty sure they're punctual.

This provider was referred to us by our Home Warranty company. There were a few things that needed fixing after we moved into our new home. One of our toilets was very difficult to flush. Half the time we had to remove the tank lid to do it. We also had two sinks whose drain plungers weren't working. The fellow who came out was nice enough, but my biggest complaint is that he was too distracted. He received at least a half dozen phone calls for the duration of his visit. He did apologize, stating that his boss was out of the office and that he was left in charge. It was frustrating, however, because for the work he did, he could've done it in half the time had he not been on the phone so much. And, to boot, he didn't even fix the toilet problem. He adjusted the chain, test the flushing once, and said it was fixed. Shortly after he left, 2-3 flushes in, we were having the same exact problem. We called for a recall service...and had to wait another couple of days since this was through the home warranty company. The second fellow looked at the toilet, and immediately knew the stopper had to be replaced. It took him all of two minutes to fix the problem...something the other guy could've done had he been paying attention. So, not a terrible experience, but could've been better. I wouldn't choose this company on my own.

Carl's arrived on time and quickly discovered the cause of my problem. I live in an older home and had a drain catch basin that was completely plugged up. He removed this basin and reworked the piping back to code. Drain works great!! Will definitely use this company again!

The plumber arrived in the time window provided, answered my questions, diagnosed the problems and fixed the problems. I had to leave, so they gave me a call back later in the day to inform me of what they did and what may have caused some of the problems. I used my home warranty to report the problem, so I only had to pay the $75 deductable, so not sure what the true cost would have been. Thanks Carls plumbing for fixing the issues.

We were very pleased with him. He showed up on time for the appointment. The communication was good about what he was doing, what his plans were and what the alternatives were. We didn't do a lot of shopping around for pricing.

Everything went well. Scheduling was easy. He was prompt for the appointment and gave me some good advice and things to watch for on my plumbing for the future. The results were great!

The job was in four parts: 2 slow draining sinks, a garbage disposal that doesn't grab, munch, and suck down refuse very forcefully, and a tub with no water supply (nothing coming out of the faucet). He routed the two sinks and they are draining nicely now. He ran the garbage disposal and stated that it's a newer unit and quite a bit quieter than older models, but working as it should (I thought so, but hubby wanted it looked at--it works fine but I do have to push things in more than with others). The third issue, he said, could only be a frozen pipe (it has been very cold--like, below zero for a week and below freezing for three or four weeks). He went to the basement with me and looked at the affected pipe, which ran upward along the same route as six other pipes headed to the same bathroom. Saying it could only be frozen, even though it's with other pipes and even though it runs into/through a hydronic ally heated floor. It appears to run through an exterior wall for at least a bit. The house is old, made of stone, and new to us, so everything he said made sense. He recommended aiming a blow dryer up through the basement ceiling where the pipes go. It's been 4.5 hours and there's still no water in the tub, but I feel the plumber did all he could given that I'm not willing to open a wall yet. He told me to leave the tub valves open and, if we spring a leak, he showed me where to shut off the water, and two other valves where I could shut it off up the line, including the main shut off.

It turned out fine. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. I would recommend them.

This provider is dishonest and will charge you more labor than the actual amount of time performed for work. This was a warranty repair to begin with that should not have been necessary. They did not stock the part so they had to come back today. The firm was in my home less than a half hour combined and charged me for a full hour and trip charge. When I complained about being over charged I was told that he was actually doing me a favor because they do not stock that part and it actually took him over an hour to go get it. I do not see how it is my responsibiltiy to pay for them to run and pick up a part. I was told that he could actually bill me for two hours instead of the one he was actually charging me for plus trip charge. He said I could pay the full amount or they would remove the vaulve and leave. This firm is not professional and takes advantage of customers charging for services not rendered. What was I to do we need hot water so I had to pay them what they wanted

It was fine. They just gave me a quote. I didn't end up going with their service but they were fine. They were prompt. It just didn't end up being the best quote for me. Their prices were high for me.

I noticed a drip coming from the ceiling in my living room (beneath the upstairs bathroom). I have a home warranty so I filed a claim, and Carl's Plumbing Service was assigned to me (would be nice if I could choose my own service provider). I had only noticed this drip once and it only happened for a minute, but I did notice a few water marks on the ceiling so I think it had happened before (I only moved in a few months ago). Since it wasn't leaking when the plumber stopped out, we tried to recreate the leak and spent a decent amount of time trying different things to get it to happen again, to no avail. He informed me that he noticed several things that were not up to code and that the warranty company would most likely deny the claim if anything was not up to code, so this was helpful information. He noted that to find the issue could potentially involve ripping up the ceiling in the living room but did not try to push this option on me, since as he noted the warranty company would probably deny it, and if it had only happened the one time it would be better to continue to monitor it and call back if it got worse. Since he wasn't able to recreate the leak or fix anything, he was nice enough to take time to look at the plumbing set up in the basement (it's all exposed because I don't have dropped ceilings) to check for other things not up to code, and he said everything looked ok.

Overall ok, but I was concerned that after the amount of work I had done that was suggested and not planned, they didn't have the courtesy to take the old toilet without a fee!

Very well. Costs were as expected. I really liked that he reviewed some risk in replacing a leaky shower component. Some plumbers might have gone ahead and done it without providing caution.

The guy who came was on time, he was knowledgable, and he gave me hints about other plumbing issues that I had some questions about. He fixed the toilets perfectly and quickly- very satisfied.

Carl's Plumbing Services, Inc. are great. I use him for other work. I have some rental property, and after he worked on my home, I have him take care of my rental properties, too, and he does a great job. He's a very reliable individual. His prices are very reasonable. He is very professional. There's no gouging going on.

Got rid of odor in the drain.

Great! Fixed leaks under both sinks. Moved upstairs faucet to downstairs unit and installed new faucet upstairs. Replaced wax ring on upstairs toilet to fix leak.

The big deal worked out fine. They showed up the day after I called. He was able to take care of the leak and I was very pleased.

And we have had this company do other services at our home and rental 4 other times. Each time, fixed at a very reasonable rate. So far, so good. We have referred them now to our relatives, as others are looking for plumbers.
