NONN'S

Again, we ended up going elsewhere, but Nonns was a close runner-up. I was pleased with their selection and service, I just found the same items for slightly less elsewhere.

Installation was well done and completed on time. My kitchen floor had been vinyl, abutting carpeting in the living room, and there was a significant difference in the height (levels) of the subflooring. Much of the cost went into the labor for removing the old subfloor where there had been vinyl, to make that floor level with the living room. I wanted the job done right, and they delivered. The carpeting on basement stairs was installed on a different date, and again the job was done on time and done right.

I wouldn’t say that the price is reasonable but it is fair. They have a very high quality product and their salespeople/decorators are very competent.

Working with sales people, (including the front desk assistant and Brittney Jones, the designer), was delightful. Both were very professional and knowledgeable about products, prompt in their responses and helpful throughout the process. Brittney was very accommodating as I had two out of town engagements between the selection and installation process. We used email and fax to complete the order. Once the order was place the installation scheduler kept me informed about the steps (materials arriving, installation scheduling, etc.) Since we used two different materials in adjoining rooms and each needed to scheduled at a different times it was a bit complicated to get the job done efficiently. But I was very impressed that he worked with me to make it most convenient, even to have the baseboards removed for both rooms at once, so that I would have a full weekend between the two installations to paint the bedroom while the baseboards were off. That made the job much easier for me. I especially liked the attention given to sealing off the master bathroom while the installation work was being done there---AND the very high quality of workmanship in laying the Adura tiles in a pretty challenging space that included some curves. The end result is beautiful! Brittney followed up after the installation and answered my additional questions.

we worked with Casi Meier in the DeForest store, and she was outstanding. She was clearly more interested in getting us what we wanted than getting a sale -- very knowledgeable and customer-oriented! She met with us several times, made suggestions, quotes, etc. When we eventually selected a granite color for our bathroom countertop, it wasn't a piece Nonn's displayed -- we found it somewhere else. Casi had been so great, though, that we almost went with our second-favorite color just to get it from Nonn's! Casi offered to see if they could get it for us, and she and the rest of the marble & stone team at Nonn's found some remnant pieces of the one we wanted in their warehouse. They encouraged us to look at the stone ourselves at the warehouse, which was really fun! A couple weeks later, the scheduling department was also wonderful to work with, extremely flexible and worked within our tight schedule to make it convenient for us. The installers did a nice job too, and the whole experience was pleasant. We had looked at countertops in several places, and Nonn's definitely earns their reputation for professionalism.

Based on their reputation and the product line (we desired an inset door), and Nonn's word that we would have these cabinets ready within 6 weeks from our order date, we went forward with our purchase over 5 months ago. Despite our salesperson/designer's word that she would verify our cabinets as designed with her against our appliances, she had to re order or correct our order four times, of which we caught the error every time, not her. The "correct" cabinets were not all on site until two weeks ago. This was vastly longer than the original time frame she had given us, which caused us unfortunate delays. We had a pretty strait forward order, in fact, we showed her a picture from one of the cabinet manufacturers brochures and online gallery that we wanted to match, using the same style with the same wood (different stain), and the same crown. To our frustration, she didn't even get that right, when we went to install, we discovered she had ordered a completely different crown and since we were already 4 months behind schedule, we ended up having to use it anyway. Throughout our interaction with Nonn's we found their communication with us lacking. There was no attempt on their part to give us updates on our order, nor updates on the reorders/corrections, nor calls on expected delivery, nor any attempt at customer service unless we initiated the contact. Not what we expected for semi-custom cabinetry from a respected local business. As for the cabinets, they are now installed (we did not use them or a suggested installer by them), but we have found the quality to be much lower than we were led to believe by the designer. Almost all of the door fronts are warped or mis-aligned, and the hinges do not allow for vertical alignment adjustments. The cabinet boxes are not the 3/4" plywood construction that our designer represented... just the faces are, the boxes are a combination of 3/8" and 1/4" with bracing. We have yet to have a satisfactory resolution to this issue. For obvious reasons, we did not go forward with using Nonn's for our countertops, we are pretty fed up with them, and could not justify giving them any more of our money, no matter how good the bid.

The estimator arrived on time and was pleasant and professional. The same was true for the workmen. I was very pleased with, and frankly amazed by, their work.

It took a week to get someone out to do an estimate and another three days before we heard back. They would not remove and dispose of the carpet, and we had heard complaints about them from a neighbor, so we went elsewhere.

Everything went very smoothly. The estimator was very knowledgeable and knew what could be done routinely and what required special attention. I was given options and explanations of what could be done in certain areas. They did not overlook the quirks of an older home but problem solved with what was there. The installers were very hardworking, polite and considerate. They came on time, worked tirelessly, cleaned up well and did a great job. The communication among those who did the ordering, the estimating, the installation and the coordinating was excellent. They kept me in the loop with the timeline and there were no surprises. I was very satisfied and would have them again for another project.

We did some remodeling couple of years ago through a designer and she had an association with Nonn's Design Showplace. We also purchased some of the materials from them. It included the tiles for the new bathrooms and some carpeting as well. More recently, we went back to them independently to get some new granite countertops for our kitchen. We were happy with the products that were available and also with the service that they provided. They were on time and they installed everything well. That?s why we went back to them on our own few months ago to get some additional stuff done in our kitchen. So far, we have had a good experience with them. They were not the only source for the materials when we had the remodeling work done. We had high definition laminate countertops installed in the kitchen and we have a pretty good amount of counter space in our kitchen as well. They also installed a new sink. I am sure there would have been some source that would have been less expensive in terms of pricing. We went with them because we value their service and professionalism along with the price. I have no complaints about what they have done. There is a good chance that I might use their services again.

We compared prices and selection with over four carpet stores/installers. Nonns was by far the best value for all the qualities such as quality, expertise, customer service, and professionalism.

The sales person was informed and gave us 4 quotes - one for the work we had done and 3 others for hardwood upstairs. We deferred the upstairs hardwood due to the cost...need to consider a little more. The flooring was from their commonly available stock. We requested it be installed by a given date since we had visitors planned. We were told that someone from installation would get back to us in a few days but I had to call...a couple times before I got an answer...to remind them that we had guests coming and needed to know when the flooring would be installed. Once they got back to us we were able to have the work done however they would finish it only a day before our guests arrive. I can't help that due to their not calling back, our date was pushed out but in all fairness they may have been busy. I never got an explanation. The work was done on the dates that we mutually agreed. We requested that the workers saw outside which they seemed to do although there was just a bit of fine dust in the room they worked. We thought we would take out the existing carpet but at the last minute asked them to do it and take it away (for a fair price per square foot). They even cut out a couple pieces per our request to use as runners in the unfinished basement. They completed the work on time with minimal mess and called to let us know they were finished and to tell us how long to leave a couple weights on the edge until the glue dried. No care instructions were offered up front. I had to ask. When I asked we were given a gift of a mop specifically for this pre-finished floor. The biggest disappointment was the delays in communications from the sales person and from the installation scheduler. A couple calls were not returned or they were returned after the fact. This was in spite of being encouraged to call if we had a question. The sales person said they had a larger workload than previously...maybe due to fewer staff. All in all it was a positive experience however it could have been more positive with a little more sense of urgency and communication. I would check them out again.

The price included the actual cost of the slate as well as the sub flooring being installed and labor.

They were easy-going. They installed pretty quickly. I was satisfied with their work.

The only downside was the following week that I placed my order I found a roll of the exact same color at the ReStore for only $90 and there would have been enough for me to finish off another room! Unfortunately when I went back a week later it was gone.

I don't want to be hounded in stores but I also don't want to be totally neglected and ignored.

From the moment we met Stephanie in the showroom everything went very smoothly. She helped us pick out the perfect granite and tile and then set up an appointment with us to actually see the slab we'd chosen. The let us mark where we wanted the cuts for the countertop so we could have certain patterns right where we wanted them. The installation was prompt and on time. We were worried about some sharp edges on the glass backsplash tiles so we gave Stephanie a call. She had someone come out to fix the problem the next day.

The salesperson Casi was excellent. She was informative and followed-up with us but was never pushy. She had great product knowledge and communication skills. The installers were on time and did a great job. There was one thing we wanted changed in regards to how they met up with are old carpet and they came out the very next day and changed it. We were completely satisfied and would use them to again to do the rest of carpet in our house!

We choose Nonn's due their very knowledgeable sales person (Bill, east side), excellent selection and reputation for quality. I think the price is very fair given the quality and service. Initially, there were problems with the ceramic tile install. Due to the type and sizes of the tile, the initial install ended up with "lipping"--substantial differences in height between the tiles. While the type and size of tiles should have worked with the design, there was too much variance for a standard install (I do not believe they will ever sell this ceramic tile with a pattern of the two different sizes again). In addition, a very large (4' X 8") piece of black granite counter top had an uneven finish that didn't show up until we turned on our somewhat unique kitchen lighting. Their initial visit from their expediter wasn't helpful. After contacting our sales person and the store manager, things happened! The sales person, store manager and one of the owners visited, took one look and vowed to "make it right." And they did. The final product is outstanding! They worked with the installer to reinstall using technique to overcome the "lipping". They communicated daily, and actually visited daily throughout the reinstall the floor to ensure all was proper. Their managers in "granite" took over to locate/install a spectacular piece of granite that would look good under our lighting. Never once did they mention what the rework was costing them. The final charge was exactly what was quoted. We are very happy with the final product, and will definitely use them again!

We were so pleased with the whole process from selecting the tile to the subcontractor.

The project went well and less expensive than several other bids. Installation had one glitch, which the company made good without any dispute. Despite a negative reference from a competitor, I was extremely pleased with the outcome and will go back to them for flooring.

They were very nice workers and they showed up on time as well. I have already recommended them to all of my friends and family members. I think that they have really good communication skills as well as customer service skills.

The counter looks great. The job was right on time and done very efficiently.
