It went very well. He came right out for the estimate. His estimate was fair, but we received an estimate from another provider we have had other work done by for the past few years that we went with. We have had him out to do work for us in the past. He does great work and I would recommend him to anyone!

We contacted Oberndorfer to provide a price quote for the landscaping to include a grading plan, new patio, two retaining walls and an overall planting plan for our new back yard in which a new in ground pool was being installed. They did come out promptly and we spent 45-60 minutes discussing ideas and what we liked and did not like. The promise for quote in "about a week to a week and a half" was never realized. I never heard from them again in any form. And in today's world that is unacceptable. E-mail, phone, cell phone... It's all too easy to simply respond and say something... anything really. To me, it didn't make sense to chase someone down in this economy when may other qualified contractors are looking to perform good work for reasonable rates. Sad really and totally unprofessional!

My lawn looks amazing and is perfectly fertilized 4 times a year thanks to Oberndorfer. My only "complaint" - not really a complaint - is that I wish they would call and tell me when services are completed. I have a toddler and a dog and other than the white flag in the front yard, I don't know if they've treated recently. I will use them again next year.

Oberndorfer Landscape Development did what they promised and did some good design work on the outside. Unfortunately we had a big drought here in Wisconsin so some of the plants have died, but a number of them are still going along well. It was kind of like a hit and miss type of thing, but all and all I think they were a good company.

I had asked him to spread weed barrier in the gardens and with the way the summer has unfolded it is hard to tell if and where he actually spread the weed guard. I did call the owner in regards to this. He mentioned that he did tell his men to do this, but he never made an attempt to come look at the problem or resolve it.

Chris the owner was very courteous and the two gentleman who worked on the job each day were extremely professional, however there were many miscommunications around where the plants were to go, what was being landscaped, etc. He responded quickly to our concerns but ultimately I have plants in areas that are not appealing to me and if it weren't for the heat, lack of rain and overall condition of the plants because they were moved several times I would have had them try again. All the plants were spaced unevenly and you trust that the landscapers know aesthetics but it was disappointing to find out they didn't have anyone overseeing the job except a foreman who showed up for about an hour or less each morning. There were some issues with mistakes in materials, water flow, unevenness in depth of rock being laid, every day was something new but each time our concerns were addressed. They started almost three weeks later than originally quoted which delayed our other work being done but once they started the two gentleman showed up on time and worked hard. Other than the plant placement it looks beautiful. I will use them again but will be home, have the contract language be more specific and ask for drawings to ensure there are no miscommunications next time.

Tom Oberndorfer was very responsive, their proposal was detailed. He preformed the work when he said he would. Their price was higher than the competition, but I had good feeling about his company.

I am on the board of a home owners association in Mequon. We are in the third year of a 3 year contract with Oberndorfer. We put the contract out for bid three years ago and Oberndorfer was very competitive. This is the fourth contractor we have used in the last 20 years I have lived here. Oberndorfer is hands down the best company we have worked with. They mow large common grounds areas in the subdivision, trim bushes, trees and shrubs, fertalize and mulch berm areas. Chris, the owner is easy to work with, highly professional and very responsive. His crew shows up at promised intervals and does a great job. An over the top example.....last summer it had rained for days and the ground was too soft to bring equipment on to. By the time they could mow the grass was quite tall so there were clumps of grass in spots of the 3 acre common parcel when they finished. Remedy.... the crew walked the entire area with leaf blowers to break up and spread the clumps. The area looked great! Impressive attention to detail and customer service. I highly recommend Oberndorfer Landscape.

Chris is quite detailed oriented, patient and does not mind reviewing/discussing options as well as amending the scope of the project once it has started. I highly recommend this firm for landscape related work. I am just elated with the work performed and the result of the project. The team members were very polite and professional with me as well as neighbors curious about services offered through this firm. I will call them again if I need future landscaping work.

I absolutely LOVE the patio they created for us. We removed an old rotting deck and Oberndorfer did the rest. I hired Oberndorfer landscaping because I was impressed with his attention to detail and his plan to make the best of the small space we had. The crew that works for Chris were awesome - they could not have been more polite, hardworking and precise. Even though the quote was the priciest I had received (I got 5 different quotes total), it was definitely worth choosing them due to the excellent quality work done. Go with the best!

The most painless project I have ever experienced. Knowledgeable, prompt and courteous staff and crew. Mr Oberndorfer was responsive and helpful at every opportunity. There was minimum mess and rapid progress of the job. I can't think of one thing that shouldn't have happened. It was accomplished better than promised.

I utlized the team at Oberndorfter Land Developers for some landscaping work I needed done last October. The team at Oberndorfter was able to do a pretty big job for us on redoing the front of our home. I really liked the work the team did and would use them again in the future.

The estimate conversation was superb. I felt that Chris fully understood what I was hoping to do with the patio and spent a lot of time with me to discuss the various options and designs to deal with the pitch of my lawn, etc. He was on time for his visit on July 25 to give me an estimate but said it would take a couple of days to get me some paperwork because he had an event with his son over the weekend. I said that was fine, but I didn't receive a copy of the proposal until August 12th. By then, the patio was already done as I had chosen another company. As it turned out, even if the proposal had been sent on time, I likely would have listed this company as my second choice of four possible contractors. I loved Chris' great ideas and patient approach to design. My only problems were with the responsiveness of getting a quote back as well as the pricing being over a thousand dollars higher than the company I went with.

He seemed very professional. We were looking for one particular part of our house which need landscaping. The patio and back yard was done but one side there is no edging.

Chris came out to see the yard and give us a quote. Unfortunately we never heard from them again.

The quote was for $4000 for repairing our lawn and backyard and to do some landscaping with some blocks in the front of our yard. It was not a very positive experience. The initial meeting was very positive and I felt very good about that provider, but when it came down to actually getting the quote, it took actually few weeks to get the quote and then once I got it I thought that the quote was way off base from what we were getting with other providers.

We received a quote in 2010 for this project, and needed to delay it until 2011. Chris kept the same price and we proceeded with the job in May/June. The hardscape portion of the job far exceeded our expectations. The workers were meticulous, and efficient, and even alerted us to a rotten foundation and allowed us time to repair that. Our patio and fire pit are absolutely beautiful. Our issue came with the landscaping that followed the project. Top soil & seed were placed around the edges of the pavers, to allow for the proper grading. Two other areas, were discussed to be planting beds, where there was previous grass. The landscapers placed top soil on top of the grass, in an attempt to grade the area, however this now leaves a mess that all needs to be dug out, for planting. Clearly planting areas, would require that the grass be removed, and this was not communicated to us (as we would have removed it ourselves), and the landscape crew simply tossed soil on top. Important to note that Chris never scheduled a final walk-through for the project with us, and the communication was poor at the end. The quality of the hardscape project was great. Overall though, the impression left at the end was one of poor communication and lack of attention to the final details.

Beautiful job, in all areas. The concrete steps he put in my front are wonderful; he removed all old concrete and did a beautiful job. The concrete border in the front and back was by a company he contracts (Curb Envy) with and he did all the contact/quote work. It looks great and it was done on time/at the price quoted. Chris added topsoil to areas in lawn that needed it, seeded areas in the front, removed all sod from back yard and added new, and added rocks/topsoil to garden areas. He and his workers are friendly (my dog loved them), punctual and do very professional work. I highly recommend their services.

I thought they were very professional and he took a lot of pride in make sure we were happy with his work. He was very good at communicating with us. This was a multi-project sort of thing and I think he did a good job. We?ll be using him again in the near future.

Chris is a true professional. He had to start later than expected due to flooding in the area and taking care of other customers, but he always responded to my voicemails and kept me updated on what was happening. The work they did was impeccable, and I've received a ton of compliments. I also bid this project out to 4 different landscapers, and his pricing was by far the best. You will not be disappointed if you go with Oberndorfer!

Excellent in every respect! It was obvious from our first meeting that owner Chris Oberndorfer was professional and collaborative on design for both horticulture and hardscape. Larry and Dave were equally professional and ran the project like clockwork.They did a terrific job! Top quality work at a fare price. Thanks to Chris and his team.

The experience was awesome, from top to bottom. Chris was always easy to communicate with, came over several times to answer any questions and offer suggestion, and the end product is better than I could have hoped for. This was a large project in my estimation, and I was thoroughly impressed with their professionalism and knowledge. Once the pool was filled in with dirt, I watered the area for a week to compact the dirt - in other words, they were not taking any shortcuts.

I've used this company several times over the years. His communication is wonderful. He is always willing to meet at my home around my work schedule. He always does the work in a timely and efficient manner. If there's a problem (such as weather), he will call to let me know in advance.The work goes very well. I plan to continue to use this company. I'm very satisfied with their services.

Chris is a pleasure to work with. We fought some bad weather before we could get started but once the rain stopped his team was on site every day and completed the work quickly. His Ideas were very good and he was flexible to splitting work up to address our budget.
