(Below is an email that I sent the company). I don't even know where to begin... when I got home last night and walked into my garage I was disappointed, all the extra drywall, old 2x4's, garbage cans, the paper that was "covering" our floor, empty paint cans, and just garbage everywhere. Then I walked into the breezeway and was just disgusted. According to the estimate there was clean up included, but if that is what you call clean up, then I think you should reevaluate. I have attached pictures for your reference. At this point I have cleaned all the floors, (including the paint spills on the floor), windows, wash machine, installed washer and dryer (and bought a new dryer vent that was broken during demo), vents, etc because I needed to do laundry, and need to go back to "living" but all the garbage in the garage still needs to be picked up. I have gathered it all and put it on the left side of the garage. Also, some of the trim was not put up, which I told him was fine in the areas where the carpet was because we need to put in tile, but I don't understand why in some sections (see picture) that it wasn't put up. I have a few issues that I just cannot move past... my floors are damaged - I have tried scrubbing them, but there is some kind of black residue on the floor, also, there are patches on the ceiling that when they were priming/texturing they did not get it, so when they went to paint it, they essentially just painted drywall. When I talked to the painters about it after the first coat, he said "I know, the people before us did it wrong" and that was it, lastly, I struggle with paying the full amount when the work was not technically finished. The company did come back and fixed the couple of issues that I listed out, but the clean up I obviously took care of. The $5,000 total bill, I was only given a $300 discount. Overall, I would not recommend this company.

Excellent Customer Service and Beautiful Work! There is a reason this company is receiving all A ratings! I selected them based on their reviews and was not disappointed. Their customer service is EXCELLENT, they are professional, respectful of your home, always left it clean after work, and everyone that came out was extremely professional and did a fantastic job. I was impressed from the minute I called them to see if they would come out to give me an estimate. The receptionist was very kind and did everything she could to get the area looked at as quickly as possible by Bill (one of the owners). He stopped out at our home before work was to begin on some of the parts of the project, just to make sure his employees had instructions on what was going to be done. The employees were considerate, hardworking and explained what they were going to do if I had questions. Even when we ran into an issue with other drywall contractors work that was affected, J&B fixed it no questions asked. The work they did was beautiful. I can not tell where the hole or cracks were, everything blended seamlessly. All of the 'craftsmen' they had work on our home were highly skilled. I can not say enough great about them! They are a first class contractor from the initial phone call to the completed work, they know how to treat their customers with great customer service and do beautiful work!
Description of Work: We had a major repair of our ceiling after plumbing work and cracks on two walls. We needed drywall, texturizing and painting done on these areas. They did all of this.

We met with Jon the owner and decided to go with them because they specialized in remodeling jobs, and not doing new home constructions. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned and from my observation, a lot of the issues had to do with having various crews doing various parts of the job. We walked through the job with Jon, and the together we marked what was getting worked on and what was not. We did the same walk through with his crew when they got there. The crew was very careful to isolate the construction area from the rest of the house which we were glad about. Unfortunately they demo'd more than they should have in some areas, and didn't do proper prep in others. We pointed out the problems to Jon and he assured us he would take care of them (more on that later). The next person to come in was the one that was going to hang the drywall. He was upset because the first crew did not remove any of the old nails like they were supposed to. So, instead of removing the nails he pounded them so it would go faster, and was getting nail pops when he started to hang but told us that would get fixed when it was mudded. When mudding and prep were all done there were a number of obvious issues that were still present so I asked Jon to come in so we could show him, and get corrected. This time he came in with his crew lead, we walked through and pointed things out and he assured us they would be fixed. A little side-note: JB's crew lead was sick during the first two stages. Normally he's the one that ensures all crews communicate throughout the process. The person that was filling in was obviously not ready to step into that role based on all of our problems. They did try to fix the issues we pointed out and I believe they were fixed to the best of their ability considering the conditions, but the issues were still obvious to me because I know what they should look like. BUT, had they not done the demo and prep the way they did, these issues would not have popped up, not had to be made to work, and not still be present. Now, back to the extra demo that was done. Jon had another contractor come in that did wood and trim to fix the extra demo. I appreciate him calling someone else in. It shows that he knows his limitations, and is going to make sure things get done correctly. Once everything was done we had them prime the room, we painted, and when we went to put all of the light and plug covers on they would not go on. It turns out that when they cut the drywall around the boxes (they were left in place during remodel) they cut it out incorrectly. Another call to Jon and he followed up with a visit to the house with some potential workarounds. In the end I was able to get things flush again, but I know that things are not done the way they should have been done had mistakes not been made earlier in the job. There are still issued with the job like small gaps where there shouldn't be, and most recently when we went to hang a curtain rod we got a nail pop because of the poor prep and hanging stages. I do have to say that throughout the whole process Jon took ownership of the issues, and really tried to find a resolution. I respect him for that, but there is a point where you're done having folks come into your house and try to fix mistakes, at least that's the point we got to. Now we just have to live with the imperfections which I notice on almost a daily basis.

Jon's crew took time to cover up with plastic the basement contents that had been pushed into out of the way spaces. They spent 2-3 days hanging drywall, 2-3 days taping and mudding and another day or 2 for texturing. All-in-all I think they spent around 9 calendar days working on my project. The work looks very good and ready to paint and they didn't take any shortcuts. All of my cutouts for electrical boxes and pass-through wiring were tight and clean. I haven't found any visible seams yet. There was a bit of a disconnect some days communicating with the workers on progress as some members of the onsite crew didn't speak English very well. The price was significantly below other quotes I received but the quality was top notch. I would use this provider again.
Description of Work: Provided materials, installed, taped, mudded and textured drywall for about 1000 square foot lower level remodel. Comprised a main media room, bathroom, 3 closets, a smaller play area and an exercise room. Most ceilings were left open but Jon's crew did do some ceiling work in the bathroom, closets and part of the exercise room.

Overall the work went very well. I inquired through Angie's list with them and several others. As I included plans and a written scope of work with the inquiry, all service providers where very responsive. I selected JB Custom Drywall based on the completeness of their bid and level of confidence I had after speaking with the owner, Jon. I asked him to come out and confirm his bid by looking at the site directly, which he did in a matter of a day, and kept his pricing as bid. Even though I had to delay the work a few months for inspections, he still kept the same bid. He was flexible with moving the schedule a time or two as we got closer before we finally honed in on the install around the Christmas and New Years holidays. Again he was very flexible and accommodating to my schedule where we needed to be out of town for a few days. The work included all walls and ceiling in a workout room, a bathroom and then all walls around the entire basement and enclosing the mechanical systems in the middle and installing drywall around all the overhead ductwork. All of the crews he had out to perform their professional specialty (loading in the materials, hanging, taping and sanding and then the applying the knockdown finish) where excellent at their craft and very punctual, hardworking and professional. The work completed in the time he estimated and I am extremely pleased with the final result. Everything looks fantastic. I would recommend them to others and have already recommended to a neighbor down the street who saw I had work being done and inquired with me. Very satisfied.

I scheduled an estimate with the owner, Jon, not knowing exactly what needed to occur or how extensive the rip out and repair needed to be. Jon reviewed the damage and explained that a two foot section of drywall had to be removed and the framing needed to be treated for mold/mildew. Jon's recommendation was consistent with our insurance estimator's review and what I had read/researched. Jon provided an estimate within 48 hours and we agreeed on a start date that was two weeks out. The work was split between two crews - the first crew installed the new drywall and 2nd crew mudded, sanded and finished the repair. Both crews were respectful of our home and made sure shoes were removed and drop cloths were in place to keep traffic paths clean. The finsihing crew communicated when they would be back for final sanding and all schedules were honored. Jon followed up with phone calls and emails to make sure we were happy with the work and whether there was anything that needed a follow-up visit. All in - a pleasure doing business with JB and his team.

We had a ceiling fan installed in a first floor bedroom and two 8" x 12" holes were cut in ceiling by electrician. Husband tried to patch and let's just say that he is not a skilled drywaller. Found JB on Angie's List. Caesar came out to do drywall. He was super polite and professional and took great care in covering all the furniture with plastic wrap. Job looked way better than my husband's job. He also peeled off a sample of the existing paint color which they took to paint store for matching. A few days later, a two man crew came to paint the ceiling and also took great care in covering furniture and were very efficient. Owner Jon called to follow up a few days later and said he'd email me receipt and I could pay with credit card via email. Super convenient service! Job looks great - use these guys if you need drywall work done and ask for Caesar!

Jon was very prompt in getting back to us for a quote and scheduling a date for the service. Plastic was put up all over the affected area while drywall was applied and the mudding and taping was completed a day early. The texturing was scheduled for a few days later and went very smoothly. There were a few minor inconveniences with regards to hand prints left on the walls and a hole cut for a ceiling can that was too big to fit the trim for the can. However, Jon was extremely responsive and came to personally clean up the mess during the completion inspection. He also scheduled one of his guys to come back and fix the hole at a later date. Basement looks great! Overall, we are very happy with the job Jon and his team did. Would hire them in the future.

I had called a couple of companies that never got back to me. So I tried Angie's list and found this company. I called Jon in the afternoon and received a call back the very next morning! Woohoo! And to top it off, he was able to get me in the very next week. I was very impressed as to every other contractor I hired in the past took weeks to get me in and it was pulling teeth to get them here. Jon was very friendly and was able to get me a quote right away. Next week rolled around and Jon got me in a day earlier than expected. Jon's employee was very prompt to my house. He setup plastic and paper around the area to be fixed so he wouldn't get any thing else dirty. He was super quick, took less than two hours! He cleaned everything up afterwards. He left my house cleaner than he got there. He let me inspect his work, and I must say, he did a phenomenal job! I couldn't even tell where the holes/damage once was. It looked like nothing ever happened to my wall. As for payment, Jon emailed me the invoice and I could pay online. Very easy. And I expected the job to cost more, so I was super happy that it was a lot less. Overall, I'm super happy with their professionalism and work. I would definitely recommend them for dry walling needs. In fact, I'm recommending them to a buddy at work.
Description of Work: I had a dryer vent moved to another location, so I needed a 6 inch hole dry walled up from inside the wall and on the other side in the garage. There were another hole, 2 inches wide that needed to be patched up in the garage as well. The third item was to fix a 2 foot wide damage above a door way that was caused by moving a couch downstairs.

while initially pleased with the work ( although the crew members "lost" parts to the window trim ) . after further inspection , I realized that the company had used very few screws to secure the dryway to the studs . I also realized that going with a thicker ( 3/4 inch) drywall would have been a better "fix" , but instead went with the suggested 1/2 inch ... I am assuming ( I can't say for sure ) that the money saved on the cheaper drywall was pure profit for the company . I also only saw the "owner " for the initial quote and start of the job and of course to collect the check at the completion, the rest of the time , his crew that spoke VERY LITTLE english was on site . I did have to have them come back out to my house and correct the most blaring of thier mistakes which they did in a timely manor . All in all notsure I would go with them again ..

Jon and his crew where great. Out of all the contractors I contacted he was one of the few that actually got back to me and came out for a quote. They also arrived when they said they were and if they where running late or whatever they called to let me know. The area that needed to be finished was around 770 sq feet of floor space and ceiling (basement rec room), so it was not a small job and they finished in 2.5 days (not all in a row as drying time was needed) UPDATE. After I primed the first coat it was obvious they did a poor job on the ceiling and I had them come back to try and fix it. It's better now, but you can still see long tapered edge joints that where not sanded enough. (you should never see tapered edge joints) I didn't go down there when they where sanding the ceiling (lots of dust) but I think they used hand sponges to sand everything and didn't use a proper round pole sander like the radius 360. They also did not use bright lights to verify if the joints had been sanded enough. I think they used the small hand sponges because in many areas you can see a subtle wash board effect.
