Sunset Ridge Exteriors

Sunset Ridge Exteriors went above and beyond what I would have expected from them to do. We were on a tight schedule with our basement remodel, and when we didn't have enough time to custom-make the windows, they still came out to our house to remove the windows for the dry-wall crew - for no charge! In addition, after we talked through the foundational issue with the side of the house, they squeezed us in with a couple-days notice, so the drywalls could be put up on that Friday. They came out to the house and worked on it all day to get it fixed up, and I know they were already super busy with other jobs. On top of all this, they came in the cheapest from four estimates (not by a lot, but for the quality of work and the value, they blew the competition out of the water.) Will use them again, and would recommend them!

The Sunset Ridge guys were professional and punctual. They explained what they found and what they did to correct it. They were very knowledgeable and clear.

It went well. They sent 2 techs. The first time they came out, they were out for half an hour doing the inspection. They had a follow up visit to fix what they'd found, which totaled 2.5 hours. They found an issue around the door frame that they fixed the second time.

only here a total of 20 min and asked to look for other things and left property......looked at roof and advised I already knew of problem - was not satisfied - advised they only spent 20 mins installing?? what about the rest of the time??? Told me that would follow up with email and never received as of this date.......would not recommend to others...........

I contacted Sunset since I had a small roof leak that I wanted fixed, which I suspected was around one of the roof vents for my bathroom exhaust. He came out and inspected that vent as well as others. The vent that was leaking was installed a few years ago but this is the first time I've had problems with it. The location it was installed ended up being right on a seam in the shingles, which was part of the reason for the leak. He caulked the seam to prevent further leaks. He also pointed out some areas where he would have installed the shingles slightly differently around some roof vents. Although they don't do gutters, he was nice enough to do a temporary fix on a corner where the gutter had split apart until I could get a gutter company out to do a proper repair. I had contacted a few other roofers through Angie's list but Sunset was by far the most responsive and they were very courteous throughout the whole process. He made some recommendations of things that should be done to the roof down the road but there were no high pressure sales tactics, he was just giving his recommendation. I am getting an estimate from them for a future tear-off roof and will definitely consider using them.

The owner of Sunset Exteriors called me when I expressed some dissatisfaction in my original review. We had a good conversation. I've reversed a couple of negative ratings to Not Applicable, because this was an Angie's Deal where it turned out that there were no repair services they do, that needed to be done at this time. The owner good on his word, refunded me my money. I would say this takes a real commitment to good customer service, and looking at the ratings, 30 'A's, probably some very satisfied customers who have had a roof or siding done by this company. I will leave only part of the original review, the good parts. They were very nice. The roofing/siding person was very cordial and professional and responsive. I have a problem area on the roof where the runoff is so high volume that there is significant spill over that doesn't make it to the downspout. I was told they couldn't do much about that. Later, they refunded me my money.

They were up front about the potential for having to replace sheeting and provided a cost per sheet if needed. They completed the job at the quoted price. They sought prior approval to proceed with sheeting replacement and provided pictures. They were more responsive than most contractors in providing a quote and following up. They were extremely flexible in meeting with me. The job was completed within 3 weeks of getting the quote. They worked directly with my insurance agent by providing pictures, statements, etc... The roof looks great! they offer several financing options that worked out great for us. We have them replacing a roof on a second property as I write this review.

Go with this company! We recently purchased a home and the inspector suggested we have a roofer come to update the flashings on the roof and see about improving the ventilation in the attic. We contacted Sunset Ridge and they came to take a look. Their knowledge and expertise in assessing the roof issues were top notch, and we liked that they tried to fix the issues with as little money as possible. They gave us two options, one that would be a band-aid fix and one for a new roof. They didn't try to push us in either direction, just gave us the facts and let us decide. We decided on a new roof, and were so glad we did! The previous roofers had done a very poor job. It ended up taking Sunset Ridge nearly an extra day to install our roof. They needed to tear off additional layers of shingles on the garage, and lay down a proper base. They kept to their bid though, and did not charge us extra. Sunset Ridge took pictures for us, both old and new. We trusted them completely. As an aside, when we signed the contract we had a strange smell in the basement and asked Michael if he minded checking it out as we were concerned. It ended up being the basement shower drain, and he new what it was right away. He was happy to help, and told us what to do to fix it. They are great people to work with, I would hire them again for any job! You can't go wrong with these guys!

Everything went well. My old window was hanging from only one hinge and they offered to bolt it into place so I could go on vacation and not worry that it would fall from top floor and hurt someone while I waited for the new windos to be ordered. That peace of mind was so nice. They even tightened a door knob on the way out because they noticed it was loose. Very nice!! The new windows looks great. My only minor complaint was that the nail holes weren't filled and it made the window look a bit unfinished. The owner apologized and offered to come back but they were very busy and I had to do some other putty work so I just did it myself. I would use them again.

Mike was punctual, personable and proficient. I was extremely impressed with his professionalism and asked him for quotes on other projects including replacing some deck boards. I definately would consider using his services for these projects.

The communications from Sunset is great. They set up the appointment and were very flexible in the date and time to help meet my schedule. They showed up a couple minutes early and went right to work. I had some siding issues on the south side of the house as well as a bad piece of siding on the west side. They ended up resizing the siding on the south side for a more perfect fit. Also on the south side a piece of flashing had been damaged in a windstorm and they replaced it. On the west side a piece of siding had been damaged and I requested that they replace it with a piece from the rear of the garage. They couldn't find a piece that was the exact length for the replacement, so they modified a piece from the garage to fit the space vacated by the bad piece. In both cases the work was done with care, not to damage any other pieces of the siding, etc. Once they were done with this work, the siding looked much better on both sides of the house and on the rear of the garage, they actually figured out a way to hide the damaged part of the piece of siding.I had requested that they remove two satellite dishes from the roof. With their roofing knowledge I knew they would do the perfect "patch" after the dishes were removed. They did not disappoint me. They removed the dishes and patched the roof in a very professional manner.I had used Sunset before to do repairs to the roof through a coupon from Angie's List and was so impressed with them that I knew I had to use them for this work also. The prior experience and the price they charged made the decision very easy. I will use them again if the need arises.

I was contacted the next day after I answered the ad on Angies List for the Deal of the day. We worked together for a date that was good for both of us. The day prior, they gave me a reminder call and then called approximately an hour before they were going to be at the house. When they showed up, they introduced themselves and went immediately to work. One on the roof, and one inspecting the siding and answering any questions I may have had. They found a few issues that they repaired immediately and provided me with information on what it would take to replace the roof (I asked them for this information). There was also some minor issues on the siding that I asked for an estimate and hired them on the spot to repair it. They were too busy that day to actually do the work, so we will be setting up a date in the near future. At the end I got a verbal report on what they did, and any issues they could not repair that day (the siding issue and the roof replacement). I was very impressed with their work and their attitude

After several successive thunderstorms (and even a tornado nearby) our ceiling showed signs of water leakage around the chimney area. Mike immediately responded to my request on Angie's List and promptly showed up to inspect the leak the following day. Throughout the process, Mike thoroughly explained each step before proceeding. I appreciated how he recommended trying the least costly solutions first. I highly recommend Mike (and Matt) for any roofing needs. They were prompt, professional and fairly priced.

I spoke with Mike a few times after seeking quote through their website. He was very responsive and professional. He gave me a heads up when he was coming for the work. The price was reasonable for the work given it was in line with the 4 other quotes I requested. One of the others quotes 3 times the price. Overall, very happy and would highly recommend to anyone.

I purchased an Angie's List deal for minor roof repairs and roof inspection. Matt with Sunset Ridge did a very careful inspection of my roof and put together a thorough .pdf report with photos and a description of each roof deficiency they uncovered. I had mentioned to the provider that we were seeing some strange leaking under the sofit against our exterior walls. It was determined that the leaks were coming from our chimney protrusion through the roof, water was running down our truss in our attic and then exiting at the headers of our exterior walls.. The provider sealed and tarred around the chimney for a temporary fix to get us through the winter, and then took the time to include additional education literature (product/vendor neutral) information on the proper methods for flashing around a chimney like ours. The provider also made numerous other repairs with sealant and explained what the proper permanent repair should be for each fix. I really appreciated the extra information it will allow me to make an educated decision about trying to make repairs myself or if I need to have the repair done professionally.

Matt called me back the day after I sent him an email, I sent him descriptions and photos of the necessary items to repair. Again, he responded within hours and gave me estimates for the work after visiting the house. Even though, I was not able to be present when the work was done, my son reported that they were completed and were well done. Matt called me the day after the repairs were completed to go over everything with me. Matt was always responsive, courteous, honest, and professional. The quality of the work was exceptional. I highly recommend him to any other Angie's List member.

I snagged an Angie's List deal, $250 for $500 worth of replacement window(s) from Sunset Ridge Exteriors. What an easy company to work with! And the installers are the some of the best I ever had work in my home. The total cost of an extremely classy, high-end window (the kind I wished I had all over my home) was unbelievably reasonable since Michael of the company cut further into the final price tag since I was an Angie's List member:) Thanks Sunset Ridge Exteriors! You're the best!

The contacted me quickly, showed up on time, suggested what I should do and what I didn't need to worry about, and came back and did the work as promised. I was very satisfied with them and would happily recommend them.

The windows are wonderful and especially today, it's 13 degrees below, there are no drafts or anything and I was very, very happy with them. They're a little pricier than some of the other more popular ones around but I was very, very pleased. They're more pricy than a lot of them that are down around here but I even had a lady come, knocked in my door and said, "I see you just did new windows, can I see them?" and I said sure and she showed me pictures of her windows that had been done by one of the more popular companies and all kinds of debris and stuff had gotten in there, and I said, "Oh, no, I haven't had anything like that." But I went with triple panes, I didn't do the double panes which they recommended and then when I decided I'm going to do it I might as well do the triple pane and not waste my time with double pane. Even in a cold day like 13 below, there is no draft coming in my windows, it's wonderful and I think I only had them a little over a year because I cleaned them for the first time this summer and it was a dream. I didn't have to lift them up like my wooden windows and I really appreciated them. I got the kind like a double-hang because I like to stand things on my windows so I didn't get the kind that crank open that are long, mine have the two and I like that. I have an older house so it's better. You can get what you pay for so I did not go to cheap bends but I don't remember how much it cost me. I know the different people that have gotten windows and I tell them who I went to, they say they are higher price so they are considered higher priced but I really like them a lot. They cleaned up and they did it in a day and it was winter, they replaced the picture window and I didn't freeze. They had it all worked out with the plastic and everything so while they were fitting stuff, it didn't kill your house with cold air. They were wonderful to work with and the sales person even said, "Why don't you come up to my house and I'll show you," because I can't decide if I wanted the white or the wooden color and he said I could come up and see his because it is the white trim. I wanted some oak window and you could get that and he said I could like the white and so he even had me come out to his house to show me what he'd installed. I want people to know how accommodating they were, he was more than accommodating to say, "Come to my house and see what I just put in", and I thought that was very wonderful. They were on time and I didn't have to do any callback so far, nothing was broken and the things are working fine, so I think those are good things to say to people. I had to pay a little more to get something good.

I was so pleased with my replacement windows from Sunset Ridge Exteriors that I am a second-time customer. The windows not only look great, but they are easy to use and clean. I was surprised at how much of a difference they make in reducing exterior noises! With a corner lot, it is nice to be able to sleep through the night without hearing outside traffic. The drop in my energy bills was also significant; this investment was well worth it. I will continue to use this company; I highly recommend them!

The owner came to my house to show me the products and write up the order. Then a tech came and measured all the windows because the windows are made just for your replacements not some size that is already made and then they make them fix. Then 2 installers came on the scheduled day. It turned out to be a cold day, they covered all the windows being replaced and the house stayed warm the entire time it took them to replace the windows. Any staff coming into the house covered their shoes so nothing was tracked into the house. All staff was very professional and answered all the questions I had thru the entire process. I had 6 windows replaced and they were done in under 5 hours.
