Sunset Ridge Exteriors

Matt and Mike were great! Matt came down the same day we called and checked out the leak in our roof as well as the condition of the rest of the roof. He was very thorough and friendly. He gave us a bid on the fix and the whole roof, but wasn't pushy. We decided on doing the whole roof and they had us on the schedule the following Tuesday (called on Friday - came same day to see) to look at samples and go over options. Mike came down for that and he was also very friendly and helpful. We signed our contract and then got a call the next day asking if they could come the following day, Thursday! The crew came Thursday morning and got to work right away. They were quick, professional, nice and they did a Great job!! We highly recommend using Sunset Ridge Exteriors. Everyone from beginning to end was professional and it turned out great!

They came out and sealed around some of the pipe vents and repaired a couple of shingles. As far as we can tell, the work went fine. They rescheduled the time once, but they were also very responsive when we requested a change in time. So in the end, we are satisfied with the work. In response to the question above about whether we would use this provider in the future, I would say it depends. You should add a "maybe" option to that question!

Our roof was in really bad shape and they did a great job replacing it. They had to replace 12 sheets of wood underneath the shingles and we also had 3 layers of shingles on our house to begin with. The cost went above our estimate, however they gave us a great deal with amount of work they did. They gave us a new flashing for our skylight, since they had gone above the estimate just to be sure there would be no leaking. They completed the job in 2 and half days and also left our yard spotless.

Seemed pretty excited to find all of the problems they could "fix" with the siding, windows and doors. They forgot to inspect the roof. I assumed that's what they were doing and when I walked out the door, they were gone. In contrast to other Angie's List professionals I have had contact with, it just seems that I paid $99 for what should have been a free estimate, which I was told that I would get by email ASAP. Obviously a weekend, but haven't seen anything yet. They did fix one loose area of siding I was concerned with. With thanks. Am I too fussy? Or have I been spoiled by other Angie's List professionals whom I have truly appreciated? I guess I'll find out after this review. I did appreciate meeting Mike and Matt, but am just left with the gut feeling that I just got played. Addendum: Like most misunderstandings there is miscommunication. Since my initial review, Michael has contacted me several times very concerned that he had left me with any questions or concerns in the first place. He explained that he had tried the front door before they left and it is likely I did not hear the door bell because of the baby arising from his nap. Therefore they left without my realizing that Matt had indeed inspected the roof and made several small repairs in the siding. while Michael was explaining other things that needed to be done. With this Information, I would like to adjust my review. I am likely to do business with Sunset again. Their pricing is reasonable. I would have liked to have known product options and more comparatives (and would have), before signing a contract. With that, I am satisfied with revising their rating ro an A.

All work was done in a timely fashion. The repairmen were here on time, worked diligently, and cleaned up after themselves. We are happy with the repairs they made. All work was done per the amount quoted to us to perform the roof repair.

I was happy with Sunset Ridge Exteriors before they even started! I called on a Sunday to leave a message asking for an estimate. I didn't expect anyone to answer but Mike did! He was very personable, respectful, answered my questions, offered to come over to give me an estimate whenever it was convenient for me. When they came for the estimate, Mike and a co-worker got on the roof and took pictures with his phone to show me what the problem was, and then gave me 2 estimates - 1 to do a quick repair to prevent more damage while I made a decision (I was getting a second estimate), and another estimate to completely replace the rubber roof. The last roofer did not use a single sheet of rubber, and the individual pieces had started to shrink, become brittle, and expose the boards below, hence the leak. Mike took the time to explain what was happening, why, and gave me options - ya gotta love that! As they were leaving they noticed the soffit on my garage next to the porch had gotten all out of whack (my technical term) and it bothered them. They climbed back up the ladder behind some bushes to straighten it out - no charge - and explained why it happened! They added a third estimate to correct that too. The estimate I got from another company came in lower (I did tell them I was getting other estimates, but not the companies I was working with). I called Mike with the other company's figure and asked if he could adjust his bid. He asked specific questions about the other companies materials, etc and I answered. He pointed out the various ways for a contractor to save money on materials that could affect the quality of the job (both Sunset Ridge and the other company were using good quality materials). I told him I would prefer going with Sunset Ridge - they're local and already had gone the extra mile for me! But I can't always just choose who I "like" - I'm a single homeowner and need to be frugal! Mike worked on the numbers and came back with it very close to the second company. And to top it off, Sunset Ridge was able to offer me 0% financing over a long enough period to make it affordable for me!! Mike came over to my house (again in the evening when it was convenient for me) to draw up the paperwork including the financing. I didn't even have to leave my house! I got a call from Mike's scheduler to plan the work, and he was also very personable and respectful as well, explaining what to expect and how best to protect my porch furniture while they worked. They started the work after I left for work, and finished before I came home. The only evidence I could find that someone had done any work was some dust on the porch, I can see some of the new boards in my porch ceiling (I had expected to have to paint them), and the clean finished edges of my new porch roof! I looked around on the ground for nails etc before mowing - nothing! I would hire them again in a heartbeat - I just hope I don't have to!

On time for most of it. The weather did no cooperate. They put on new painted fascia boards on my garage then new gutters. They were only bid that came with new fascia boards. Other bids were over rotten boards. Recommend them to another person needing a roof.

THE OWNERS CAME OUT FOR AN ASSESSMENT OF THE PROJECT. THEY PROVIDED AN HONEST OPINION. THE SCOPE OF THE WORK INCREASED BUT WHEN THEY EXPLAINED IT, WE AGREED MORE WORK WOULD BE NEEDED. IN ADDITION, WE ASKED THEIR OPINION ON AN UNRELATED MATTER; WE HAD BEEN HAVING WATER SEEP INTO THE BASEMENT. THEY TOOL EXTRA TIME AND EXAMINED BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE, INCLUDING THE ROOF. THEIR SUGGESTION WAS TO INSTALL LARGER GUTTERS TO ACCOMMODATE EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THE ROOF. THE CURRENT GUTTERS COULD NOT HANDLE IT. THE WORK WAS COMPLETED IN LESS THAN A DAY. THEY CLEANED EVERYTHING UP AND WE THANKED THEM VERY MUCH. SHOULD OTHERS PROJECTS ARISE I WILL BE SURE TO CALL THEM.

The service was good. They came out very fast within three or four days. I asked them to do extra work. Everything looks pretty good when they were done. So far, the work they did is good.

Sunset Ridge Exteriors were punctual, professional and easy to talk to. They discussed issues in a clear, concise manner that was easily understood, and the repairs exceeded my expectations. Sunset Ridge Exteriors worked seamlessly together, extremely efficient, and a pleasure to work with. I won't use anyone else for roofing/siding repair. Very professional and well-done. Some problems with scheduling but they kept me appraised.

The strong wind in the night damaged a fascia board of the house. The situation was bad as the board was half connected and kept hitting the exterior wall. I called them the next day, they were able to respond quickly and got the job done on the same day, quality of the work is nice as I can tell.

This was to perform basic maintenance, basic repair, and do some calking around the fireplaces. This never happened. They used this as a way to try and sell some services. The guy didn't even show up with a ladder. I would not recommend

The person from Sunset Ridge did an adequate job, inspecting my roof and fixing a leak near my chimney. The amount of work done was probably worth the $99 it cost. The inspection and patching took less than an hour, and the ingredients were used were not that expensive, so it probably would have cost me less if I hadn't taken the deal and found someone to work specifically on the leak. All in all I am satisfied since my roof doesn't leak anymore.

They set up the appointment to fit my schedule, arrive on time, and carried out the work efficiently.

They promptly came out when we requested and gave us a thorough report, including sending us photos showing what he was referring to. That was really helpfl. We chose not to do the work at this time.

Contractors came out to install the windows--a two day process--and there was initially some issues with the quality and finish of the work--after the contractors left, I noticed that there was some framing that was left unfinished on the inside, and that some of the sealant and trim on the exterior was a bit sloppy. Basically, the quality of the work wasn't what I was expecting. I immediately contacted co-owners Matt and Michael, and Matt himself came out to inspect the work the next day. I was expecting to have to argue, and that I'd get the response that the work was "good enough". To my surprise, Matt took a quick look, instantly said that the work "wasn't up to our standards" and agreed to redo the framing and sealant in question. The work was redone, and very well this time. I certainly don't expect work to be perfect every time--people are human, and mistakes happen--but in their response to these problems, Sunset Ridge showed that they're very invested in both the quality of their work, and the satisfaction of their customers. I was very happy with the final result and would recommend them to anyone.

He was punctual for the appointment. However, he declined to actually go up and look at the roof and failed to provide us with a written estimate.

It was not a real nice day, but the team of 2 showed up as promised and on time, approx. 9AM. They efficiently went to work with hose and high power washer nozzle to sweep the gutters clean. Any plugged downspouts were either power cleaned or disassembled by hand, thoroughly cleaned and reconnected. There were 2 of those. They then quickly worked to attach the 8 foot metal guards with screws on the gutter edge. They had to stop at one point, as local supplier had picked the wrong size on part of the original order. Over lunch break, they returned the incorrect size, picked up the correct ones, and returned to finish by mid-afternoon. I could not believe how fast they got it done, and I checked the job myself. I have a large 2 unit side-by-side duplex. 11/2 stories of larger unit and 1 story on attached cottage side, so it was not a small project. In total, it's a 14 room house (all connected) with 6 bedrooms and 3 baths, 3 car garage. This review written by spouse of member.

We purchased a $99 Exterior Home Maintenance Package from Angie's List. The Sunset Ridge Exterior people (Michael & Matt) were very prompt and punctual. Michael & Matt explained what they found and what they did to correct it. They were very knowledgeable and professional.

Time taken was okay. On time. Completed nicely.

It was a small job, but they responded to our call and came out right away to give an estimate. The installation was done within 7 days of the estimate. They also swept off the entire roof and caulked a couple areas that needed it and brought to our attention an issue with some gutters. They explained their work and recommendations very clearly. We were very pleased with the installation, and felt the price was very reasonable,

It was a small job just to repair a piece of fascia, but they treated it like a priority. They were prompt and responsive, and followed up to make sure we were happy. They accidentally ripped the screen on one of our windows when repairing the fascia. The ripped screen would have been something we wouldn't have noticed or attributed to them, yet they immediately told us about it and made arrangements to fix it with the least amount of inconvenience to us.
