We purchased a Big Deal from Angie's List for $99 for cleanout and organization of garage. The provider did not return our phone calls and email to schedule the work. We has now THREE TIMES asked Angie's List for a refund. None has been forthcoming. We need to start review Angie's List for how it responds to its "members"....very unsatisfactory. BTW, this is the second time I bought a BIG DEAL where the provider did not respond and/or do the work. These things don't always work out. And in any case, it has been our experience that they really aren't much of a "deal" anyway. Be careful what you buy from Angie's in advance. We are still pursuing our refund.

The guys who came did a good job. One was better than the other as you could noticed the difference in the rooms each one cleaned. They did a great job dusting and getting in hard to reach places. If I could pay the same price for the service I would use them again.

Unfortunately, there were a series of delays on my part, which the Dirt Destroyers graciously accepted. But recently when I inquired again, I got a message from Jackie Clash saying she had suffered a tragedy, and maybe I should seek a refund. Which I guess I should, though the word "tragedy" is upsetting. If you have any information or advice, I'll take it. Rated "Good" for interactions, not service. Would rate "N/A" but not allowed.

We purchased an ANGIE'S LIST BIG DEAL in January 2013 and wrote the company's contact listed to set up a date for cleaning. We did not hear from them, so we phoned and left our number for a return call. No call came. Wrote another email. Called again. We had one response saying they could clean on February 4 but that day was not good for us. To make a long story short, there was no great attempt on their part to get in touch with us. We contacted Angie's list and asked for a refund which was quickly and efficiently produced. I would never try to use this service again.

I have never dealt with a company this bad before. Many, many attempts to work with them on scheduling, what products I should provide for the cleaning, anything they needed me to do to prep my home for cleaning etc. First time I tried to schedule a cleaning, Jackie did not get back to me on time so I had to reschedule. She did apologize and said she was very busy....ok, gave her the benefit of the doubt. Then I scheduled my second appointment online (which their scheduling system let me do) and then tried to get my questions answered again about what products I should have etc. and found out they only come to my area on Mondays, so I rescheduled again. I’ve tried several times since purchasing the coupon to redeem the deal. I was never able to speak with someone as their scheduling is done completely online. I attempted to email her a couple times to contact them but received a response a response. My last appointment was somehow canceled online without me doing so and they didn’t inform me of it either.

I had the Big Deal for months and called them several times. They never returned any calls or emails with us to try to schedule our Big Deal. Eventually the deal expired and Angie’s List issued a refund for it. We’ve never had any discussion with them at all. We were about sixty miles from them, so maybe they were outside the area, and maybe they were just too busy when we called, but they never even gave us a call back to explain that.

I have had problems and have had to reschedule. Then they were supposed to come out but they had and emergency and haven't been able to come. They didn't inform me of this, I had to reach out to them to find out. She however hasn't said whether she can do the job or called me to reschedule

I bought a Big Deal from Dirt Destroyers, and called and left a voicemail to schedule, with no response. The next two times I tried to call, their voicemailbox was full. I gave up!

First, I'd like to mention that I had purchase their services via another website. I understand that once in a while prior appointments may unexpectedly take longer and a service can get delayed. Also, scheduling difficulties may be ok if you're flexible, but I you are forced to book your appointment months in advance (because there are none available in the nearer future) or are counting on their help for a special occasion and get stood up, it is very frustrating and stressful!! I would have preferred not to give review like that, because I can imagine the DDs deliver good and honest work once and IF they make it to your house. And I don't want to harm anybody's business who is working hard. That said, I wish I had seen somebody writing a review like this before I bought a multiple cleaning deal from the Dirt Destroyers, it would saved me some time and frustration. I did see some reviews with people having similar experiences later on, though.... Unfortunately, i never got to find out! at the first attempt I was lucky enough to schedule and appointment by phone for within a week. The appointment was moved by the company on the day of the scheduled service- to a later time that would not work because I had a different appointment later and needed to leave. So I had to cancel this cleaning appointment. It was impossible to get anybody to call back about a new appointment. , which left me to schedule an appointment online: 3 1/2 months out!!! I had left several futile voice mails, even an email requesting a call back for an earlier opening to no avail. Finally, two days before the 2 appointment I get a phone call asking if they could come an hour earlier, which I accommodated. 95 minutes into the agreed appointment time, I am waiting to even hear from the company, so I call and leave a voice mail stating that I needed to leave the house within an hour. Within a few minutes I get a call back, with an apology, stating unforeseen circumstances and the promise for an appointment as early as the following week. But the appointment would need to be scheduled later as he was cleaning by himself. Sadly, I was never able to get hold of anybody, nor did I get a reply the the multiple voice mails I left to reschedule- and of course, online there was no appointment available for another few weeks out. Luckily, the website I had purchased their services from gave me a refund of the cleanings I had bought! Again, I can understand unforeseen circumstances postponing an appointment or making it impossible, but at least I'd like to be notified- especially if I'd had to wait 3 1/2 months for it to occur! And taking on so many bookings or selling so many deals that you don't have the capacity to fulfill doesn't strike me as very professional- even if this was the most thorough cleaning service in the world...

This service was bad enough that I had to write a letter to the owner to explain all my issues. It also pretty much describes the services that were performed. I am posting a copy of this letter and correspondence that followed. ___________________________________________________________ Issues with The Dirt Destroyers: *I had to cancel the first appointment. I left a message several days ahead. No one returned my phone call to confirm the cancellation. *The second appointment was cancelled by you with no explanation on the day of the appointment about an hour before you were supposed show to up. You did not offer to reschedule at that time. *I had to reschedule online because I was having trouble getting through on the telephone. I have a confirmation email that shows the appointment was for a Monday. When no one showed up I verified my email, then went online to double check and then discovered that my appointment had been changed to a Thursday without my knowledge. *I called you to discuss this as Thur was impossible for me. You promised to show up on Fri with a full crew. *On Fri you showed up late and with one other person, then you left right away, but promised several more would arrive shortly. *2 more arrived but one individual never got out of her car and then left the premises. The other startled me when I discovered him in my shower, as I was not made aware of his arrival. *The first individual, K****, did not understand that only the bathrooms and kitchen were to be cleaned. I had to tell him several times that other rooms were not to be cleaned. *He did not seem to understand that ?deep cleaning? should include wiping out cabinets and needed to clear it with the boss first. *A third man finally arrived, but again did not announce his arrival. *When the crew was finished, they left without informing me. I had no chance to inspect their work before they left. *They were quite pleasant to talk to, very polite in their demeanor, and seemed to be diligent and doing a good job, that is, until I had a chance to inspect more closely. Cleaning: *Toilets and sinks were cleaned well. *Nobody dusted in the bathrooms. There was dust on the baseboards, the mirror frames, the light fixtures, the photo frames, the splash guards around the countertops and several glass containers. *There was mold in the corner of my shower that I ended up cleaning up myself (see pic). *I found two bags of trash: one on the upper floor and one in the basement at the bottom of the steps, in which the contents had spilled out and I had to clean it up. *I saw K**** cleaning my cabinet fronts, yet for some reason my pantry doors were untouched. *The pantry floor was untouched, and the kitchen floor was poorly cleaned. *The stove top was beautifully cleaned. The rest of the stove and surrounding walls appeared to have been untouched. *I saw K**** spray cleaner on the inside window of the oven door. However, he seems to have forgotten to clean it off. The window was as dirty as before and when I wiped the window with a wet rag, soap bubbles formed. Not only is that sloppy work, but had I not wiped it off myself, it?s very possible that those chemicals could?ve ended up in my food. Need I say more? *The space between the floor cabinets and stove, which I specifically pointed out needed cleaning, was so badly done, I had to redo it myself (see pic). *The ventilation hood above the stove: Removable parts were cleaned very well, but the housing was completely ignored. The screw from one of the ventilation fans is MISSING. I saw both screws when I showed the crew how to dismantle the fans. There was no note to mention this missing part. I have no idea where to look for it. Did they accidentally throw it out? Did it drop somewhere? Why was I not told? When I turned on the fan there was a horrible noise because it was loose and it could have been damaged. Did they hope I would not notice? *The inside of my refrigerator should have also been wiped out, but wasn?t. *There were crumbs left on one of the counter tops. I bought this package last July and their online calendar said the service couldn't be performed for months. I booked online and it was confirmed. A couple of months later, I received a message with a different day and time. I called and said that was the wrong date and time. No return message so I went home to wait. No show despite 3 messages left. They did not show up the next day for the originally confirmed time. I have left about ten messages with NO return calls. This was a total waste of money. Don't use this company.

Very good overall experience! The place looked awesome when they were done and my entire deposit was returned and it took a big burden off of me. I will use them again to clean my new home!

I first noticed The Dirt Destroyers in about June 2012, when I went for a walk with my dog and children. They were just finishing a job at a neighbor's house. I chatted with them, because I was interested in having a one time job done and got their name and phone number. It was a nice chat and everything seemed fine. I then saw a special for them on Angie's List in July 2012 and signed up through that. I wanted the cleaning done in October, before Thanksgiving. They were fine with that. October came, they cancelled on the garage cleaning because it was too cold out (temperature was in the 40's). They showed up for the house cleaning, saw my dog, and said they couldn't clean with him around. I told them we would have to reschedule as the dog would just bark if I put him outside or shut him in a room. They said they would call me to reschedule both. They called and left a message saying that they called. Whenever I called them, I got a message machine, never a person, and left a message. I finally sent them an email with the days and times that worked for me to to have them clean over the next few weeks, reminding them that they had agreed to get the job done before Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving came and went and I never heard from them. Eventually, I went onto their website. Turns out they have an online scheduling tool. I used that. They were booked for months. I scheduled for February, 2013, and got confirmation emails for both garage and house cleanings. I called/emailed them the day before the garage cleaning appointment, asking if they were planning to come. They never responded and never showed up for the appointment on Feb 6. I called a few times, afterward, leaving messages. They texted me saying "I'm sorry I can't make calls out. Yes please reschedule garage for the spring. Having phone line issues once again. Thanks." I left them another message asking what temperature it had to be for them to show up. Or should they just refund my money? I then decided to visit their office, as I was low on patience. I went to the address clearly listed on their website, only to discover another company working at that address. Dirt Destroyers no longer worked out of that office and hadn't for at least four months. On Feb. 11, five days later, they responded with a text "Please ask Angie's List for a refund." I texted them back asking if that was for just the garage or both garage and house cleaning jobs. They never responded and were a no-show for the house cleaning. I will get my money back, either through Angie's List or the credit card company.

I attempted so many times to contact The Dirt Destroyers to discuss options for scheduling the 3 deals I had purchased. Since I had both the 9-hour and the kitchen-baths deep cleaning I wanted to arrange to substitute other rooms for the kitchen and baths for the 9-hr job. I never spoke to a single person during any of my calls and initially I chose to call back rather than leave a message. But then I left detailed messages requesting that they call me to schedule my three deals, thinking that they would respond faster if they knew it involved more than one job. Not only didn't a live person ever answer the phone, I never received a reply to the messages I left! Furthermore, a call to owner Jackie Clash's listed residential telephone number revealed that it is not a working number. At this point, I'm not even sure that The Dirt Destroyers is still in business and based on my experience, I believe they don't deserve to be. Regardless, I have no intention of ever doing business with them.

We purchased a Big Deal in July for deep housecleaning. We were waiting to use it for Christmas and we finally heard back from them after Christmas. We scheduled the cleaning but received a call from the owner Jackie who said he was ill and had to reschedule. We rescheduled for December 22nd but we received a big snow storm and had to cancel again. We agreed to do the cleaning after the new year due to the storm. We reached out several times after the new year and finally got a response after the 3rd attempt. He stated that something else happened so it seems like he keeps coming up with excuses not to do the work. I told him that I would give him another chance if he wanted to contact me and I’ve heard nothing. I have now asked for a refund.

I got in contact with the owner in early October and exchanged emails, but she could not confirm a time. As we approached the expiration date, I still had not confirmed an appointment either by phone or email. The owner would say she would get back to me and wouldn't unless I prompted her yet again. Finally, I signed up for a Feb cleaning date through their website even though my coupon expired at the end of the year. I am disappointed in the lack of communication, the inability to sign up for a cleaning time and the uncertainty as to whether or not my coupon will still be honored.

It was a hassal to schedule this deal, it was all very last minute. They were really busy. We were in the process of moving. We arranged for it, the day they were supposed to come they didn't show up. We had to call, they had to come a different day. They work turned out fine. We ended up paying them extra for more time.

Did not receive the cleaning service from Dirt Destroyers at the above address. My original request from Angie's List was placed on Nov 9, 2011 to expire July 6, 2012. I had an appt. set for June 23, 2012 wherein the ad noted cleaning of windows and tracks. Because of the holiday weekend I requested an extension of the coupon which DD graciously agreed and because of their busy schedule at that point in time; it was noted and that they had no appts. availabe until Sept. She would keep me posted. I then contacted DD on October 5th via e-mail which was noted by DD that they were working very hard to find employees and time to fit me in their schedule and to please be patient. On October 18th I contacted DD again via e-mail requesting them to suggest an appt date/time to me. I received an e-mail response that Jackie would call Sat/Sun but never received a call. The respone on November 28th was to go online and schedule their first available Monday. On Novmber 28th I e-mail Jackie back to request to cancel the request for window cleaining and credit the $99.00 back. I was told to contact Angie's list for the credit. It was ok. They were not overly detail oriented, but they tried to do what I explained. I am a very picky person with high expectations, so I would not use them again - I would rather do it myself. I think a normal person would think that they did a very good job.

Be sure to tell them what you are looking for. I.E. floors, dusting, edging, etc.

They had a great attitude when they realized they had their work cut out for them. They worked hard and did an outstanding job!
