Mad City Windows & Baths

Description of Work: We responded to a GasCard promo for demonstration of windows. Salesman did show on time and we cutoff 'dog&pony show'. "I'll be back," - after call to the office - blah, blah - "here's a price I can 'work with' - but don't tell the office I gave you a price yet!" End of interview, end of contact. We did get our promo in the mail after taking the form right to the office.

Description of Work: In 2009 we needed all new windows for our just purchased ca 1950s built home. We came across one of Mad City Windows'ads for a "House Full of Windows for $1500" (or something like that). A sales rep came out and said he wasn't even going to show us the $1500 windows ,,, we needed the double pane, low-e, extended warranty and so on and so on. We ended up spending something like $5500 on the better windows. The two dudes that did the installation were kind of sketchy looking but seemed to do an OK job. They were a little sloppy (B for professionalism) and made small rips in some of the screens but when we pointed that out to the Mad City people someone else came out and fixed it right away. | |The windows they offer are not Pella quality but they were big improvement over what we had and they were what we could afford at the time. Call it a C for quality. We'll give them an A's for Punctuality, Price and Responsiveness. Just a little under two years after the install one of the windows failed (the argon gas leaked out and mold was developing between the double panes). We called the Mad City people and they delivered and installed a replacement as soon as one could be made (not more than a couple of weeks of I remember correctly). We haven't experienced any problems since. We'll certainly go with higher quality, nicer looking (ours are just basic white vinyl) windows in the future. I am not sure if Mad City offers any of the better brands but if they did we'd consider using them again. So B overall. |
