Perfect design by Ellen C. She followed our requests and came up with a beautiful design. The workers are always punctual and efficient and willing to answer questions.

Herman Landscape is the best! This is the second time we have used them for a landscaping/paver job and the experience was all good. Drew came down promptly, gave us the design and quote promptly and within 2 weeks we had our driveway and walkway done! It is so beautiful, we have people stopping all the time to look at it. The crew was always prompt and professional. In both jobs, the crew did some additional landscaping which was not included in the bid but which added greatly to the overall look (and was not charged extra for it). I cannot recomment them highly enough.

Ellen did an extensive design for three areas of our back yard and was very responsive to our suggestion of doing it in stages. Area 1 involved repairing a boulder wall to reduce erosion on one side of the yard and placing a rock garden on that slope with new nursery stock. Area 2 involved grading a large area, building up the sides to aid water retention, and installing 60 rain garden plants and some shrubs. Her design was fabulous and we accepted it as submitted. The crew was excellent and Ellen was on site for most of the work. The results are stunning - especially the rain garden! (Area 3 work will hopefully get completed next season - we're adding three raised bed gardens with steps and a walkway from the deck. )

It has been a great experience working with Drew. He had been involved in drawing up the initial plan. He then worked with us through a couple of rounds of revisions. In the process, he was very prompt in responding to our emails and answering all our questions. We greately appreciate his patience, promptness, and professionalism. And we are very happy with the results so far.

This was an awesome experience. The designer from Herman came out, solidified the plans for the work and set a start date. They originally gave an estimate of $11,000. The work began on a Wed AM and by Friday that week everything was done! Carl was the foreman and is a 'can do' person...he got the large crew to work as a unit and all was done as promised. They actually came back in 7-10 days to replace some dried out sod. Overall fabulous experience.

We had estimates from two companies, Herman and Blair. Herman's estimator came within three days of the phone call, listened carefully to what we wanted, then made several good suggestions about the project (We hadn't thought about the tree, for instance). The estimate arrived in the mail shortly afterwards. Herman's price was identical to Blair's, but they promised a little extra work. Scheduling the work was a little vague - we were first told we were on the list, then without warning the crew showed up one morning to get to work. The two-person crew were efficient and thorough, and careful to clean up after themselves. We're pleased with how the project turned out.

I had basement water damage caused by the snow melt and rain this last winter/spring due to the grade of the back yard. I read the great reviews for Hermann Landscaping on Angie's List and gave them a try. "Kim" came out for the estimate and was very prompt and professional in getting the estimate paperwork to me. However, when I called later to get the work done (had to wait for ground and snow to melt) I was told the Kim was no longer with the company, I was referred to Jeff to verify the estimate and absolutely nothing has happened since. It's been months and I can't get a call back. I tried again yesterday and the lady that answered the phone promised to have him call as soon as he came in that day. No return call, again. I now give up on them.

I saw the Herman crew installing the patio and re-grading the back yard and their speed and professionalism was amazing. This was without a doubt the best investment we've made in our home.

I was very excited after reading the positive reviews on Angie's List, and my initial contact with Jeff was professional and good. He showed up reasonably on time, understood the work required, claimed to have the right equipment, and promised to get back to me with a quote. Well, a couple of weeks passed and I heard nothing so I called back. He told me he needed to revisit the house with his son, who does the backhoe work. They visited without calling me to be there, which was irritating, but I guess is ok. Then no contact again. I called a couple of times and left messages, but got no call back or no response. Clearly, they did not want the business, which is fine, but the main reason I paid money to become a member of Angie's List was because I was sick of waiting around for contractors to either not show up or not call back or whatever. This was an awful experience and if you do not post it you will be doing your paying customers a disservice.

I needed to have work done quickly for a new house we were moving into. They did the work on time and professionally.

Herman landscape promptly returned our call and arranged to look at site to give estimate. We were on a tight schedule and they were able to accommodate us on short notice. Workers arrived a bit late, but they had a quick stop on the way and I hadn't provided them with a cell number, so they couldn't alert me to that. When they arrived, they had brought all the right equipment and the work was done quickly and efficiently. The workmen were skilled, friendly, courteous and well-mannered. Would highly recommend!
