Genesis Painting

They refused to come and give an estimate. He contacted me on his phone in his car. It was very hard to understand him because of this. I thought is was very unprofessional. He was very discouraging

Genesis did a great job on the house. For the deck they recommenced a product which pealed within 6 months. The next year they sanded the deck and re-did deck at their cost. I was pleased with their service, responsiveness and professionalism.

They were excellent. Whatever they charged me was a mid bid. It wasn?t cheap and it wasn?t expensive too. The work has still held up. It is very good especially the exterior wood. They did a very good job of priming and that is something that they don?t always do. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

He did a really good job. He was very professional, worked alone and provided an excellent service. He is trustworthy to the point that I provided a key to my home for him to work in my absence. He charged a reasonable rate and completed the job efficiently using his time well. I recommend him.

Overall, every project turned out unbelievable. Jim's work is the highest quality. He knows quality projects, what works and what doesn't from experience and he doesn't stop before turning out a high quality project.

Excellent. Jim come in. Prepares thoroughly so there is no damage done to the home, completes the work and cleans up!

He finished today when he said he would and he's coming back to cover our basement floor and work on our hallway doors, which over the years have taken a lot of wear and tear.

Jim arrived on time for the first appointment and gave his estimate with a very thorough description of the work he would do. He rearranged his schedule to accommodate our tight time line and began work early the next day and stayed on into the evening. That day he put on a new layer of mud on one wall and portions of two others and the ceiling, and sanded and primed/textured those areas; painted the ceiling and walls. He was finished by the end of the following day having completed the painting and installed the trim. Only two complaints: 1] he was descriptive almost to a fault (conversations tended to run on the long side) and 2] dust from drywall mud sanding was distributed in a fine layer throughout the house which made for a lot of cleanup, likely because he didn't block the air return in the room and/or didn't close the door (we weren't home at the time). He was punctual, friendly, very descriptive, and thorough. Overall a very positive experience.

It went very well. I appreciated Jim's quiet, professional presence which made the days of work less stressful for me. The rooms are beautiful (and I don't have to worry about people getting trapped in my bathroom now that the knob is fixed!) I would definitly hire Jim to do more work in the house and would heartily recommend him to others.

They did an excellent job. They were wonderful to deal with because they were easy-going, they were on time, and they worked hard at what they did. There were some little issues that needed to be resolved but they did a great job about talking us through all of that. I think they are a bit expensive but I think they are worth it because the quality is there. Whenever we had questions, there was someone there to deal with it.

Jim was very friendly, helpful, and thorough in producing the bid. Did all work very professionally. Was very careful to let us know when he was coming and what he was going to do each day. I will allow Jim to bid on any future projects at our house, and would definitely use his services again!

Our first contact person who scoped out the work and prepared the bid really understood the project. He had some very useful suggestions. The bid was accurate. The painters themselves were punctual and professional. They did a fine job. Highly recommended.

The process was smooth throughout. The sales representative was very knowledgable. The painting team was responsive to our questions and also kept us informed about their progress and plans.

They are coming out the end of this week to do the work. Bob Sizeman was very cheerful and pleasant. He seemed to know what he was doing and he measured things completely to do the estimate. Everything has been great so far. I called him and he came out the next day. He was completely professional and took his shoes off as soon as he walked in the door. He was completely professional and is a good face for the company. He clearly knew what he was doing.

It went very well and they did quality work. They were professional, punctual and thorough and they did not have to come back and touch anything or redo anything. They came as scheduled and worked very well. Their prices weren?t the cheapest.

The bid and work proposal was very clear. The employees were very customer focused and professional. The work was completed timely and looks absolutely great.

Everything was great. They came on time and did a good job.

The result was excellent. There were a few places that we requested touch up on the final walk around where minor splatter from a dark surface to a light surface were visible and where opportunities to caulk a gap were missed, but they happily took care of them. The actual paint job on the deck was not as immaculate as the house, but the sanding and prep of the deck floor far exceeded our expectations. The business itself seems very well run and customer aware and we were charged exactly the quoted price for the job.

They are in the Better Business Bureau. They did a really good job and were reasonably priced too.

They were less expensive compared to another company. The guys were pretty friendly and were there when they said they would be. They did a good job and I appreciated that they painted smiley faces on drop sheets for the kids to see. I was happy with the job they did and I would recommend them. I would use them again use them.

Initially, the company was quite responsive. We had an estimate within a few days. We were having some electrical work done around the same time and we wanted it completed first. Genesis asked us if they could come in early to get started on other areas of the condo because they were ready to start. When the painter came, he began by working on the patching and did an excellent job with the patching. But, he was very messy and he did not cover our cabinets or counters. We had a lot of dust covering all surfaces. When the painting began, we also had difficulties with his messiness. He didn't cover our furniture, including our bed. We now have spots of paint on many of our pieces of furniture, including on our bedspread. We contacted the company and let them know about our concerns and they reported they would talk to the painter to ensure it was cleaned up better. However, we didn't notice any change in the way the house looked. The painting took longer than expected by about 2 days. And, in the end, we thought the results were quite poor. In two rooms, we were painting white over dark paint. When the painter declared he was done, we still could see dark paint through the white. Additionally, we noticed areas where the painter just missed areas on areas that were originally white, such as around the light switches, outlets, etc. We contacted the company with our many complaints and it took weeks for them to respond, in spite of multiple attempts to reach the person who was helping us. When they finally agreed to come out and fix our paint job, they sent us a gift card for dinner as a "we're sorry." But, no one called to schedule our corrections. I eventually called a different person in the company, who happened to be the scheduler, and she had never been informed that someone was supposed to be correcting our job. She got us scheduled within a day and someone came out and repainted the paint job, including scraping all the baseboards. In the end, there are still places that are not perfect, but it generally looks ok. We still have paint on our bedding and on the strings of blinds. They took a small amount off our bill (80) due to our difficulties. But, they never offered to replace the bedding. Of note, they have told us the painter was fired after our job.

Genesis was great with the speed of their quote and was able to begin within our time-frame. I was around for prep day, and the gentlemen were very efficient and were wonderful about pointing out woodwork and repair that I needed to do before they could complete their painting. There were several rotten sills and some rotten trim that needed to be replaced. We worked together well and the prep work went smoothly. I especially liked the classical music they played on their job site radio. I then left town and the actual painting got done in my absence. When I got home, the house, upon first glance, looked great, but upon closer inspection it appeared that some of the downspouts had not been painted down to the first floor, and some of the paint on the gutters had already begun to peel. We called Genesis and after some wrangling they sent someone out to fix our issues.

Very well. Genesis did an excellent job at a reasonable price (the lowest of three bids). We had purchased our house earlier this year, and the exterior hadn't been painted for a long time; the sunny side in particular had a lot of drying out. Jeff and Steve, who did the work, were very thorough, and were personable to work with. They were also very fast - worked long days, and didn't mess around. They did a nice job - we've had a number of compliments. (See the photos.)

They were good at recognizing the lead paint. I had a great experience. They had a good contract. They were very friendly and got the job done in a timely manner. They hire quality painters and pay them well.

I will always hire Genesis if they keep up their level of expertise and service. The painters were here when they said they would be. They were quiet and polite to my neighbors and kids. I learned a LOT about what it takes to paint a house correctly, and plan to have them check in every year, or every other, to maintain our exterior paint job. I never felt like they were rushing through things, but at the same time they worked very hard, with only a short break each day. Many of our neighbors plan to hire them based on our experience and the quality of the work, and I tell them all they won't be disappointed. Many people might give a B for slightly higher prices, but when I saw how much more work they did, and the level of quality, it was a clear A, worth every penny.
