Description of Work: We recently had an energy audit, and it was suggested that we could save some energy costs by cleaning our dryer vent and shortening our dryer hose. I called Champion Appliance to get an estimate. They responded promptly. Jeff looked at the dryer, the vent system and made suggestions about cleaning. His thoroughness discovered a problem with the gas line to the dryer. Jeff walked me through each thing he discovered and offered a variety of possible solutions. The work done by Champion Appliance was superb. We live in an older house and fixing anything requires patience, experience and the ability to deal with the unexpected. Jeff and his crew have those qualities. When the dryer was pulled out, Jeff discovered that the gas line was not secured to the wall along and behind the dryer. Also that the original venting system was no longer up to code. Jeff and his crew cleaned the dryer, then put in the new venting system, including making a new fitting for the exhaust pipe. They secured the gas line to the wall. They even washed the window above the dryer, inside and out! The whole Champion team was easy to work with. They answered all my questions Everyone was polite, and Naomi, who took my numerous calls, was positive and fun to talk to, even when I re-scheduled an appointment. Jeff's creativity in creating the new venting system really impressed us. I have used Champion Appliance before and I certainly will again.

Description of Work: There was a catch that the money would go toward service but not the initial call. So I had to call and get my money back from Angie's list, but they charged me for the service call even though they did nothing but tell me my machine didn't work and would be expensive to fix. More importantly, the main guy spent the whole time talking about how Angie's list didn't work for them, was a rip off to THEM and they needed to cancel their agreement with you/Angie's List. And they did this on my time in my living room while I had to try to get through Angie's list on the phone and get the money I had paid for this returned. I know it is my fault that I didn't read the fine print, but I thought the way they handled it was just awful. I would never use them or any of their services again for any reason, and I hope that others don't either. So unprofessional.

Description of Work: My refrigerator stopped working completely. The technician from Champion was able to come out the same day I called, locate the problem and fixed it in about 20 minutes. Excellent customer service!

Description of Work: The technician did an exceptional job in determining the issue with our ice maker. He came back three times trying different solutions in an attempt to fix it and keep costs down. He followed up and completed the work after obtaining deficient part replacement. Would highly recommend!

Description of Work: Because of their excellent rating I decided to call them expecting a wait for a house call if they could come. I left a message about my washer problem before official hours as instructed by their machine. They never called me back. This is not a good sign.

Description of Work: We had a problem with a foul-smelling dryer. Based on excellent reviews on Angie's List, we called Champion and Jeff made a house call the following day. He identified and corrected the problem. He was efficient and professional. We would definitely use their services again.

Description of Work: Jeff was able to call me on a Sunday, late am to see if he could help with my washing machine which was out of commission. After explaining in detail what the issues were with the washer, Jeff was able to determine that the machine could possibly be fixed for $400-$600. He recommended, and I agreed the best solution would be for me to buy a new washer. I was so grateful to have Jeff call--on a Sunday!!--and walk me through what was going on with the washer. I was impressed he didn't try to push a repair solution; he was forthright and told me this wasn't something I should consider having fixed. Nice guy-very professional. If I do have any other appliance repair needs in the future, this is the company I will call back. Thanks again, Jeff!

Description of Work: Replaced a refrigerator fan unit with panel deemed defective. Repairman mentioned that the part had failed significantly in other units by the same manufacturer and was familiar with the repair and the part. Of course no one wants to spend $270 on a repair for a four year old fridge, and that part should have generated a recall by the manufacturer, but the repair went fine and the unit is working great. Description of Work: Water was leaking from refrigerator's lower freezer unit. Defrosting problem. Technician knew the cause and fixed it within an hour.

Description of Work: Our 12-year-old refrigerator was losing its cool. A Champion service person diagnosed the problem and fixed it speedily. He was quite informative and seemed willing to offer us as much information about the problem and solution as we wished to know.

Description of Work: We had a great experience with the team at Champion from diagnosing the problem with our dryer to getting it ultimately fixed. The repair staff showed me in detail the cause of the problem and how to troubleshoot it in the future and the follow-up was timely and delivered as promised. Highly recommend based on our experience.

Description of Work: Had issue with burning rubber smell coming from our washer. When technician visited, the smell was gone, but he did a thorough review to try and find the issue. After checking that everything looked good, he provided some options if the issue presented in the future. While we didn't need any service at this time, I felt the technician was very professional and knowledgeable.

Description of Work: When I called they were great about telling me what the problem might be and what the cost might be. Aaron showed up on time with the needed parts. The cost was a little less because it was switch and not a pump. Honest and dependable. Everything you would want for appliance repair.
