BADGER CHIMNEY

Neat, clean and all went as expected.

Chimney, flue, and insert were cleaned. Defects were noted and options to repair presented.

I called and arranged for Peter to sweep my chimneys this afternoon. He didn't show up and he did not call. I left a message to call me back. He didn't call back until 5:25 pm. He apologized and said he didn't remember that he had an appointment this afternoon with me. He asked if another time would work. I explained that I was waiting around for him to come, had this happen to me with another business years ago, was not very happy then and now, and will not do business with companies that do not meet their commitments. I said even a simple phone call - which I did not get - would have been nice. He apologized. I will never do business with Badger Chimney Specialists and I do not recommend them.

It was okay. I would use them again.

Peter is very good at what he does, reliable and thorough. I highly recommend his services.

Ordered coupon. Set up appointment to inspect chimney Owner inspected chimney left estimate of $,1200 plus materials. I asked. If he could do 3 hours of work to prevent further weather damage. He said by the time he traveled here , loaded his tools on truck, got out the ladder he would not be able to do much for 3 hours. I do not use the fireplace and did not want it repaired to working condition just to stop further weather damage. Even $1200 ++ would not get it to working condition.

The first house was in Middleton where the chimney had not been taken care of for sometime took the longest. We dicussed future care. He didn't insist on any additional services with tacked on charges. He was very informative about future use and advice. The second house was in Madison was cleaner and again very informative and gave advice there as well. I will definitely be calling him back to put the fire place insert in.

he was very professional and courteous. he did a very good job of cleaning the chimney and cleaning up after himself. he informed me of some potential problems with the chimney and gave me some repair options, but he was not at all pushy. i found him helpful and professional and we would recommend using him to our friends. we will also use him again in the future.

Swept the chimney and checked out all working parts. He was very detailed. He did a great job!

Peter arrived a bit late, for which he apologized. Then he promptly fixed the damper and encased the fireplace in plastic to contain any debris. He started the cleaning from the roof and finished inside. The fireplace and surround were thoroughly vacuumed afterward. All seemed to go well.

Unfortunately I was unable to take advantage of the Big Deal I purchased. We had an appointment for them to come out to complete the service today. No one called and no one showed up.

Call and set up an appointment time. Arrived on time (within range of 2 hours). Quickly got to work after introduction. Explained what he was going to do. Placed plastic around fire place to keep house clean. Cleaned and inspect chimney. Found future work (next year) that needs to be done. Did NOT try to oversell. Completed paper with receipt and estimate of future work.

Not much to say. Good Job. As good as any I have had done. The only short coming was the "report" which was not much more than a receipt. It was accepted by my Condo Association, so it was adequate for what I needed. I no longer live there. I would use them again, but request a more detailed report about the condition of the unit.

Peter was supposed to meet us at 8:00. My husband and I rushed home from a social engagement to meet him and he called us after 7:30 to let us know he wasn't coming. He did not have a good reason for not coming. When I told him that we rushed home to meet him he told me that he could come but we would have to pay $20 in gas mileage! What?! The company is located in Madison and so are we. I am appalled by the lack of professionalism of this company.

Displayed sound skills and knowledge of fireplace and chimney system. Did a really nice job and very pleased with outcome.

George called about 15 minutes before the appointment to say he would be late and verify this was okay for our schedule. When he arrived, he prepared the inside of the house so everything stayed clean. He inspected the chimney on the outside and then cleared it out from the top and then came in the house and finished the inside cleaning. He answered our numerous questions and left everything spotless and the fireplace looks immaculate. The cleaning took about 1 and 1/2 hours.

We needed the chimney cleaned before putting the house on the market. He was very prompt and through. I would use this service again.

They did the job as promised, and everything turned out all right.

Very timely, kept everthing clean inside and outside of my house. Even did a little minor repair to our frame on teh doors to fireplace.

Did an excellent job, was neat, cleaned up after (although amazingly did not make a mess and my fireplace was very dirty). Was prompt, pleasant, and professional.

The first thing Peter did was a thorough walk through of the project with me. This included looking at the fireplace, the fire box, the hearth area, the chimney (inside and out) the basement directly under the fireplace. He and I did the walk-through together. As we did, he talked about each area: what it should do for the fireplace and for safety, as well as what was working well and what needed work. We decided on the work to be done: chimney cleaning, firebrick mortar/repair, and work on the placement of the grate in the fireplace. Peter set up a time to come do the work. He called later that week and asked if he could change the time and date because work he was currently involved with was taking longer. For us, that change was no problem. Peter worked for three days on our fireplace/chimney. He carefully covered all the furniture in the living room and ran an exhaust system to prevent soot/smells from coming into the rest of the house. He scrubbed the firebrick inside the fireplace by hand. It was cleaner than I had ever seen it! Peter redid the mortar that was cracked or crumbly. He swept the inside of the chimney. He placed the grate in a better position in the fireplace. And he scrubbed the outside of the fieldstone where it had been smoke damaged over the years. The transformation of our fireplace was incredible! It looks amazing. The chimney draws well, and with the grate placement, there is not errant smoke in the house. I highly recommend Peter/Badger Chimney. His work ethic and attention to detail make him an exceptional provider.

We bought a house that hadn't been lived in for a few years. We have two fireplaces that needed to be cleaned. He did a great job of cleaning all the "spider webs" and other fun things out of them. He also removed a piece of brick that was blocking the damper. He added a collar to the outside of the Franklin stove chimney to stop the water leak. GREAT JOB. Also kept everything clean.

I was very pleased with the work Peter did in inspecting and sweeping the chimney. He was thorough, neat and only charged for the work that was necessary (a complete cleaning was not needed this time). He even took extra time to thoroughly clean the glass doors on the fireplace. It did take him a few days to return my call, but I did call during his busiest time of the year for chimney cleaning. I appreciated that he called when he knew he would be a little late for the appointment. I will have him back for another inspection, sweeping, and possible cleaning in a few years.

He's great, except for his promptness. However he does call about being late. If you can give him a little leeway on time, he about the best I have used.
